A team full of mediocrity. Most of the signings are from the “you get what you pay for ” philosophy .Why do we never have a 15-20 goal a season striker and please don’t give me the everyone is after the same.I rate Holt as a target man and never a pure finisher and as for Fortune the less said the better. We seem to have tightened up at the back but with Macmanaman looking a shadow of his end of last season self and Maloney injured then I don’t see our performances changing anytime soon.If you are waiting for a window spending spree then don’t hold your breath and anyway it’s the wrong time for a mid table team to throw money around.Albeit I wish our team the best in their European campaign to me it’s nothing more than a good reason for a foreign jolly and a cup that is so diluted it really would be a blessing in disguise when we exit it.Then again promotion now looks a distant dream so maybe this is our only chance of silverware … :woohoo:
Although I thought Macmanaman was more in the game saturday than I have seen him all season.
The games haven’t been terrible to watch for four years! The team has done its best to play football, often against teams with much more skilful players. Whilst Wigan have been cutting the size of their squad and their wage bill, other teams have been vastly increasing theirs.
Wigan have found it hard to compete, but not because of any lack of effort from the manager or the players. The players collectively simply weren’t good enough to compete with other squads.
The problem today is quite different. It’s not the lack of resources, it’s the the lack of direction. The squad is overflowing with good midfield players, most of whom have Premier League experience. But the manager has failed to get them to play in any organised manner. On occasions they haven’t been involved in the play at all.
I would be in total disagreement. The issue is that we have a range of poor quality midfielders, that none of which see the need to take control of a game and dominate. McCann is awful, Watson has one good game in 6, McCarthur is missing McCarthey or a decent player to play alongside but puts in a more of a shift than most, Espinoza is class and for what ever reason isnt being given a run. Wingers need to be given the chance, albrighton is rubbish.
holt needs to be playing every game. its no good playing him 20&30 mins here and thereAgreed, I suspect the teams issue at the moment is the lack of consistency!
Seems like Uefa seem to be stacking charges against the Ajax fans from the first and second leg.!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24919815The local police think there were 4 or 5 different clubs in town that night looking for trouble, Cletic fans were in the middle of it. History also was against this tie, given the stabbings last time Celtic were in Amsterdam.
Policing was awful, Celtic fans shouldnt react, but how do you not !
I suspect his wife has been having an affair on Saturday afternoons for the past 30 years !
ovrturned Mclean clear to playLooking forward to another slightly fustraiting performance from him, go on son beat a man…..
My initial appraisal based on Scottish fans feedback was he would be a benchwarmer at best. Looks like that might be an over ambitious assessment.
He looks poor and doubt he will ever play for us.
He looked far better in the games he has played than Chris McCann has in the games he’s played
Surprisingly, and disappointingly, I’d agree with that. Expected more from McCann.
McCann has been poor and Coyle hung his hat on that signing in midfield.
We should be looking to Midfield for our current woes. Not enough protection for the back 4, and lack of service to the striker, we dont control the game.
Carson aint perfect but he is a decent keeper.
Anyone booked on this with the club?
I can’t go to the Maribor trip, I’m out of the country, so booked on this instead. If I could, at £475 I’d have jumped at the chance rather than £1600 to go to Russia.
Oh look at me I’ve 1600 sovs spare – some folk on here on the breadline pal take a look at yourself and then think of people in platt waz. Disgraceful.
Arseh#le of a post. Someone decides to go on a trip and can afford it shocker. Grow up and no wonder this country is fuelled by jealousy if people like you are given the Means to complain.

You should have added that:“by adding your name to this list & us making a request for additional tickets from NK Maribor, there is absolutely no guarantee whatsoever that any more tickets will be forthcoming. Other clubs have made similar requests from NK Maribor in recent years and not received any further tickets. In light of this therefore we urge fans not to pay in full (or with a deposit) any travel & accomodation arrangements until they have been able to purchase a match ticket”
Just that your “statement” is very open & could give encouragement to people to book as further tickets may well be forthcoming
If only the club had introduced a loyalty scheme where those with most away travel over the last x years get priority for tickets, rather than JCL to pop in and get tickets becuase you have a season ticket. This isnt a difficult concept for them to implement.
I personally will be flying by giant golden eagle on the Gandalf express and being carried shoulder high by naked ladies to and from the game. All for £2.50 day return.
I think the key issue is the lack of strikers, or at least fit strikers. So having 2 up front would be a luxury…
Bayern Munich seemed to play well with one up front last night !
I think its fair to say that you will pay through the nose for the official package, and you will get some unique extras as fans.
But I would like to think people would trust the Lupine package, and it will deliver. They have a track record of successfully trips to difficult places, and those that are interested should contact them directly regarind ABTA concerns etc.
Dylan is a top bloke and I would trust him. His trip will be worth the experience.
I think you will find all good teams play with 1 striker up front.
This constant referral to 4-4-2 being a best way to play football is outstandiny nieve to say the least.
