Well written, i’ll have to make the wife read it, she’s of the dark side pursuation. All last season we had fights over Roberto, her view was (at the start o fthe season) that we needed rid. In fact we had more rows about RM this year than all other subjects put to together.
We also did very few away games becuase she didn’t want to waste money and time on them. At the end of the Stoke game (watching from home) she said, all happy, “we should do more away games next season!”
I wonder whether she’ll remember that statement. On the comment re the West Ham game, the folllowing day I had a salesman in, he was from Warrington and a man u fan but he had had £10 tickets for the game (part of a community effort with school boy teams) so he a 40 dads and 60 lads went. He couldn’t stop talking about the game and said if we stayed up he was goingto get a season ticket for him and his lad. Maybe it was talk, but it can only be positive stuff.
25 May 2011 at 2:20 pm in reply to: season tickets – would welcome people’s opinion on this…. #66552Move to the East Stand, all of you. Plenty of room in the middle sections ES5 & 6, some at the top under the score board. excellent view and great atmosphere (much better than the west stand) and you can contribute to the noise.
It struck me as extremely strange too. I was starting to get all paranoid about the establishment seeking to get us out of the PL but that doesn’t add up really. Afterall he could easily have given a penalty (though he was right not to) when jones backed into caldwell in the box as he jumped to head the ball and all the stoke fans scream penalty.
but no way 5 minutes.i’m usually an optimist but i have a dark feeling for what will happen on Sunday. I hope i’m wrong, however, I’m not to sure the stats about us getting back to back wins is very good.
god i hope they prove the stats wrong – every part that can be will be crossed, the lucky socks on, the 2006 season JJB vest, the 2000 wembley ply off scarf on, etc. Then i might lock myself in a dark room (the toilet) and come out at 6. trouble is i don’t know whether i’ll be sitting on the bog or barfing into it.
i was told yesterday (before the story broke) that as he was returning back to the tunnel (shirtless) that a wigan fan slapped him on the back – probably wishing to leave a nice red hand print – stupid behaviour but not quite a full on assault.
He did predict us to Win on sunday and we did, and was nice to us on MOTD 2 !What more do we want from a Preston fan.
on 5 live on friday (around 5:20pm) he contradicted himself and said it was going to be a draw
noticed that they didn’t even show the assault on Rodallega towards the end of first half which should have seen Bassong being sent off. Obviously not a major incident in the gameit did look like an injustice, but clearly the ref and linesman saw it for what it really was. Unfortunately it was a clear handball by Rodellaga (Sky showed it).
the number of stones that came in was not one or two and it continued for a while. Small boy was hit along with an adult next to me. I asked the plod who was stood watching us to do something about it and he just threatened to “take me in” if i didn’t get back. The whole crowd was shouting for them to stop the scum bags but what did they do, they turned on the video camera to record the trouble makers in the tics’ fans.
Stupidly, I thought those public servants were there to protect and serve its population, not to watch as innocent people are stoned by hooligans. Seems like Gadaffi has sent some of his men over to help.I can understand that going down to the DW to watch your beloved team is not always going to be top priority when you have a family to feed and clothe and a house to pay for, however, if you choose to always watch the match in front of your PC or in the pub, then i for one can’t take your moaning and whinging seriously. You’ve sold out that right and (fan maybe) you ain’t a supporter!
i also got sacked at the tender age of 15 when working at his supermarket!
having grafted short handed all day filling the bread shelves and baling all the cardboard boxes i had to go and empty the bins from the cafe. When i got back there was a huge pile of cardbaord to bale and it got bigger as the bread shelves had also emptied.
One of his shop managers came in and instead of saying “well done today, but can you stay until all the cardboard has been cleared” he said “you’re not going home until you have finished that!” He was standing by the clock when i clocked out for the last time at 5:30!
still working with rubbish though!would be there but at a conference in london – so that’s 2 down as the missus won’t be going either. Was looking forward to seeing how the 2nd string gets along. Would like to see how the scouse Mac and the Fish and Lopez to theat end.
Big con. Start an argument about any old c-rap and then get some mug to call in on a premium rate line and keep them hanging on for 20 plus minutes.I believe you call in, then they call you back.
It’s not as if Talksport need a few qiud from a phone call is it?The missus was irate enough to call in after a game and she gave up after 10 minutes of being put on hold!

Don’t forget cleverly!
colleague of mine (exiled jock) and Celtic fan watches as much sunday football as possible and he was very complimentry, strong, fast, entertaining, skillful, etc. He hadn’t heard and was a bit dissappointed because celtic had been rumoured to be in for him. Not the premier league but may be he has it and if not, at least we haven’t blown £6m.
