Keep Ali, keep Lee Nicholls (who I think should be given his head this season) and that is a good enough keeper line-up for the Championship.
We have much better areas in the team to be spending £400k in my view, unless the club knows something we don’t about Ali and/or Nicholls.
Are you volunteering to give him his head Griff ! :)
I see Jonny had his say ! ha ha ha
Of course. Polite but informative.
They should be called The Lactics though because most times that I leave the DW it feels like my legs have filled with lactic acid ! ;)
It might be his intention but that doesn’t mean he can/will.All paper talk – that last “article” suggests Bob wants him for £5m. Good luck to him, seeing as Kone’s release clause is £6.5m
Perhaps Uncle Dave will see that he rots in the reserves like he once said about someone else who’s name fails me at this present juncture !

I was working with Ian McNeil’s daughter when the news came through we had been elected to the football league.
Tarmac construction offices at Landgate. If I only knew then what a journey lay before me. :woohoo:
Were you laying the road to Wigan Pier ! :)
Good stuff. I wonder what Coyle thinks about Adrian Lopez. Roberto liked him, but I couldn’t understand that. We can’t be sure about Ramis’ recovery, but he would be superb at that level. Another strong centre half alongside him would do. Owen had Strven Caldwell as his Captain at Burnley, so we know the type of centre back he prefers.
I don’t think it was a case of liking Cladwell, I think it was more of a case of that’s what they could afford.
From what I remember he played well for them too.
Incidentally, I’d have like to have seen Lopez play in the Championship. I liked what I saw of him.
Jonny, if your spelling of Caldwell was a genuine typo and not a sarcastic play on words then it should have been ! Cladwell is perfect because as is with most words in our language they morph over time into other words and so Clodwell is only just around the corner ! In fact, lets skip Cladwell and just go straight to Clodwell ! :cheer:
it’s pity that when one expresses their opinions that they are sarcastically described as an expert, with a comment added about working in football.a rather futile comment, rather than joining in on the debate about what the future holds for our football club.
You’re new to this malarky aren’t you !
That’s Karen carpenter surely? Why have you got your pants pulled up like simon cowell?
I am more concerned about the tee shirt tank top combi ! :cheer:
I was told by a friend he watched the FA Cup final with an ex manager in a pub in Morton. Not sure if it was Kenny Swain or not.I’m afraid your friend has misinformed you as he watched the game at home in Aberdeen with his son !
We have some tactical experts on this forum don’t we ! How come none of you are employed in football? Personally I would prefer it if every outfield player ran after the ball like back in the Junior school days ! Just a big pack of players moving around the pitch with the odd breakaway ! Football how it was intended to be played !
Maybe we are a Championship club because we were certainly punching well above our weight in the Prem, particularly the last few seasons!
Then why all the criticism of Martinez, Phil?
My only criticism of RM was his obstinacy coupled with his lack of a contingency plan when things were going tits up ! I also don’t think he is the manager that DW has bigged him up to be but I guess time will tell on that front, good luck to him, he is going to need it ! ;)
I have said it before and I will say it again.
How can you call Martinez stubborn? the man changed the formation in our team more times over his 4 years in charge than any other PL club in history!!!
You and certain others seem to hint that because he didnt go sh*t we’re losing right start twatting it up the field to 5ft Maloney he is stubborn.
Its a moronic statement!
And despite most of us being quite prepared to move on from this whole lightside/darkside Martinez affair certain posters seem to revel in it!
I was asked a question and so I answered it not that it has anything to do with you ! Like I said, time will tell to see if he is the new ‘Special One’ he has the pefect opportunity to prove himself now and good luck to him ! :)
