Because we pay to watch games and most games have been terrible to watch.
And that differs from most of the previous 4 seasons how?
But how anyone be as fooked off as some you are on here?
Because we never look like scoring and have changed from a passing team to a hoof ball team.
The players don’t seem to have a clue about the Managers tactics – if that’s what you can call them – either.
And as for our so called strikers ……………………..
And yet, despite those valid observations (some of which could made for the last 4 seasons) and despite the massive upheaval over the last 6 months, I repeat: we are 11th, on the edge of the playoffs, with a game in hand, and still in 2 cups.
Glass half full.
And am I experiencing a different season to everyone?
We are 11th, on the edge of the playoffs with a game in hand, only just lost our first game at home, on the verge of qualifying for the Euro knockouts and still have a cup to defend!
And all despite a massive period of transition (division, budgets, manager, players), games every 3 days and one of the toughest, open leagues in the world.
I suspect the team is naturally thinking about Thursday – I certainly am. If we don’t turn up then, then I might change my tune. But right now I’m pretty content with the big picture.
Granted Coyle would not even be my 100th choice of manager, and we need better tactics and more firepower. There is room for massive improvement. But overall how can anyone be as fooked off as some you are on here?In today’s news: Shock As Football Manager Says Any Old Tripe To Please The Media And Fans
Like I said a few months back on another thread, our FA Cup heroics are fish and chip paper to most folk.
And as for Martinez, well what did you expect? He’s had four years to hone his garbage-spouting skills with us.Not a Liverpool fan but felt rather smug when I heard Sturridge had equalised in the 89th.
Each year poppy wearing seems to become more and more devalued in my eyes, especially as so many people don’t even understand what they stand for. Every politician, celebrity, sportsperson and TV “personality” can’t be seen without one now and, ironically, people are viewed as a social pariahs now for not sporting one.
Like many others I have deliberately chosen not to wear one any more and instead show my respect in other ways. It’s very creditable to have 3 wins and a draw in 4 matches played just 3 days after a Thursday night game.
It might not be pretty or high scoring this season, but I feel we’re starting to settle and finding our own unique groove.
Keep the faith!!
A very fair appraisal. The greatest danger at Yeovil is fatigue.A well deserved break follows – except for our internationals.
Not sure about this view tho: “[Yeovil] will no doubt see this as a game they can win with our away form and performances after European games.”
Whilst our performances after Euro games have been flat, we are yet to lose (and have won twice) after our Thursday night jaunts (famous last words).
Even tho Yeovil are bottom, a 0-0 draw after 7 games in 23 days and a 5000 mile round trip would suit me fine.
10th with a game in hand
Unbeaten at home
One of the tightest defences in the leagueDespite…
A new manager
New “tactics” and “style”
10 new for 10 old players
Games almost every 3 days
At least half of the league games vs teams above usWhat the FOOK are folk moaning about?
Seems to have ruffled a few feathers this thread. What you get I suppose when you spend all day cooped up in front of the computer.
Meanwhile, back at the DW ranch, the talk is of Albrighton of Villa.
A pacy winger? Is that what we really need just now?
We need someone to lead the line. I must admit my thoughts keep turning to Kone.
Yes, I’d say it’s exactly what we need. McManaman, Gomez and McClean have all proven they’re not up to the job – for one reason or another, and what striker are we hoping to get on loan at this stage that would be any better than Holt, Fortune or Powell?
The strikers haven’t been getting the service, so if he can stay fit it’s a decent signing in my opinion.
As for Kone, I doubt Everton would let him go and I think Fortune is as good as him – especially at this level.
1. I’m sorry but I find it incredible that we cannot find a single striker in the Prem or any other top European league to join us on loan! It has to be down to the wages we’re willing to stump up, but for every week we don’t have a loanee and save a week’s wages we’re dropping points. Completely false economy esp. as Coyle himself has said he has money burning a hole in his pocket.
2. None of these wingers matter if we only ever play with 1 striker on the pitch (why did we loan out Dicko??)
3. And Fortune as good as Kone? Have you been smoking summat Standish??
If Coyle is of the opinion (unfortunately everyone is entitled to them) that Mclean should be keeping Jeany B out of the side I wouldn’t slate him for giving Jeany a crack at LB. His crosses putting aside his other weaknesses are invaluable.Except that LB in a 44 1 1 is just that and not a LWB – and Jeany proved last season and reaffirmed early on this season that he can’t defend for toffee.
What I want to know is what exactly does McLean offer? Seems like a new Koumas but crapper at dribbling. As much as I’d like Zulte to drop points tonight, anything but a win for Maribor tonight will all but rule them out of qualifying.
Which, 53rd birthday or not, should mean low home interest for their last game and hopefilly more tickets for us.Honeymoon or no honeymoon, Bob has demonstrated both with us at the end of 11/12 and now with Everton that with the right quality and mentality his philosophy delivers results.
Doesn’t change my dimmed view of him though or my desire to see him get his come-uppance.
But what would you do Leyland, land of the samba (possibly never again in my life time in Brazil) or Wigan (possibly never again in Europe) , lotto ticket i thinkMore chance of you getting a winning lotto ticket than a Latics Europa away ticket ;)
Latics every time for me though.
We’re not upset by the low allocation; we’re not upset by the speed at which they sold out. We’re not upset with those people that got tickets (except where they have got the gall to tell us we should have tried harder).
Fact is that it was not a fair crack to get the less than 642 tickets available. The phone system was fcuked. The travel arrangements policy was fcuked and abused. And the VIP package is blatant exploitation.
Thing is, unless you tried to get a ticket fair and square and missed out you wouldn’t understand.
LMB – by “fraud” I mean the dozens of fans who just quoted Vital Latics even though they’re not travelling your excellent package or even made any plans yet
Roy – some of us had no choice but to rely on phones when we live 300 miles away
Jay – based on Zulte, how on earth did the club not anticipate demand? And if the club had done everything they could then how do you explain the phones and the shonky travel details policy??
You’re not helping yourself…
Getting a ticket to watch us play a no mark Slovenian team is hardly a reason to celebrate. If that’s the way you feel then why don’t you sell me your tickets then?
Just cant understand why folk who were commited to paying to travel didnt pull out all the stops with so few tickets being available.Who says we didn’t? We did, but got scuppered by the both the phone fiasco and the Vital Latics “fraud”.
