Erm because its a free country and tickets are available????
It is a free country, but the tickets should go to people that ‘support’ Wigan and don’t just want to turn up due to the fact it is a big game. Tickets should go to those who deserve them most.
Our £27 return coach and £40 tickets (On sunday) will prove to be quite a bargain too ;)
Stam can play on the left and although like JB is not good defensively he can take a man on and put in numerous crosses. Just my opinion mind !
Are you really suggesting that Stam is a better proposition at LWB than Beausejour?
I may actually agree with the point you’re getting at here ‘sammy’ .. The LWB should at least be naturally left footed, although Stam can use his Left peg to some extent I wouldn’t put him at LWB. ;)
I just think technically he is an awful player. Majority of his passes go to the opposition. Out of position a lot. The fact he assists the majority of our goals doesn’t make up for his awful all round play.
What a load of bollocks….!
Didn’t respond to your initial reply to me for a reason, if you didn’t notice, I don’t wish to discuss this with you, stop stalking my posts. Thank You B)
The fact Jeany B has been mentioned as join 10th in the table of assists this season caught my eye on another thread.
I have to admit I was a bit shocked as I have been critical of him this season maybe not as relentlessley as others on here but I dont think he has had a good season by my expectations of him.
It got me thinking what are my expectations of him? quite frankly I dont expect to see him racing back down the line to make a last ditch tackle on a winger at a critical moment in the way Leighton Baines used to do for us.
I dont expect (but would probably like him to a bit more) run at fullbacks taking it past them and putting him in a great position to cross the ball.
What I do expect from him is that he provides assists to the team.
Well the statistics dont lie folks and while he is joint 11th not joint 10th according to the espn assists table the fact he has provided as many assists this as seasons media darling Santi Cazorla of Arsenal speaks wonders in itself.
What speaks more for this from our personal expeience is he is 2 assists ahead of Leighton Baines and Antonio Valencia.
If someone told me that this morning I would of told them they were talking out of their arse.
So in summary I think my expectations of this season were based on how well he did when he joined us last season.
I think in that time he was aided by the fact teams seemed bemused by the LWB position and the position he would take up on the pitch.
More full backs have been instructed to come out and meet the wing backs this season but I think its fair to say his assists are invaluable to us and our relegation battle for the rest of 2013.
He is f**king garbage.
He has lost possesion more times than I care to think. Probably lost us games/points too. The reason he has as many assists as Cazorla (And others) will be due to the fact he puts nearly ALL of our crosses/balls in as he does have a decent cross, it isn’t always consistent but it can be good and we slightly rely on him to put the balls in, whereas Arsenal don’t need Cazorla to put all of their balls in.
Even though I like you and you seem a really nice guy I think our footballing opinions are a world apart.
I realised this when you said Man Utd have one of the worst squads they have ever had in years this season which to be honest I think is mental talk :)
But f**king garbage is surely a bit harsh? anyone who is top assists or top goalscorer is surely not garbage as they are obviously doing something right.
The point of the thread anyway is that while I have been previously critical of him which is all good and well when you step back and take a good look at it hes actually been a big part of keeping us above the top 3 up to now.

That doesn’t really stack up against the likes of Valencia and Baines who might I add both won player of the season for their respective clubs last season and who’s job it is to put the balls into the box.
But you have made a good point in the fact that we actually do rely on him to put all the balls in the box.
The service from RWB has been non exsistent for 90% of this season (something I hope is about to change due to the return of our 1st choice in Boycey)
Not bad for what many believe is a fat waster on the wing!
Not quite sure why you’ve mentioned Beausejour here unless it’s a veiled reference to the notion he provides a substantial amount of cover for Figueroa. However, that statistic is not a surprise to me. I’m also not surprised no one has mentioned his superb pass for Kone’s second goal yesterday because that would mean a good number of numpties on here having to back track on their opinion of him being “a fat waster on the wing”.
He is a ‘Fat waster’. One pass (That he attempts and fails most weeks) doesn’t make him a superhero. Not good enough for the Prem.
Aye. Despite having Suarez, Sturridge, Borini and Coutinho Liverpool are gonna spend big money on Kone. Rodgers spends money on young players for the future generally. Not journeymen in their 30s!He’s only 29 and still will be at end of season.. Spend BIG Rodgers!! :cheer:
Piece of piss that game, I was quite confident after Uddersfield last week but we totally dominated them after 1-0. Very very accomplished performance that showed a lot of maturity that the likes of Man Utd would possess. Extremely happy with the attacking play and have to agree that Kone is an exceptional threat. Problem is that he will be gone next year, Heard a rumour on the old grapevine that Liverpool already have a deal in place to sign him next season.10m Please.
I am personally liking the look of Kone since he came back from the cup.. But I think people should calm down a little, had a good game thats all. People were slating him (myself included) before he went!
A team finally put some effort in, and Bradford got tonked.. Like they would have against Us, Arsenal AND Villa had they tried and put some effort and enthusiasm in.
….Has anybody tried it? If so, what’s it like? Any good?Off to York next week and I’ve found some amazing places with good beers and ales on the pump and in bottle. I’m hoping to try some of the above as well as other types as well.
Not for me this gas-filled shite they call lager.
Only places I drink Lager are Czech Republic, Poland, or Germany. That’s NOT lager they serve here. It’s shite.
We have things in common! :)
Why worryingly ? he is a player who can create something out of nothing its what he is all about making runs at players.Against lower league opposition playing from the start.. maybe. In the Premier League in a 10 minute cameo appearence (Or at all to be honest).. No B)
Wants us to be the 12 man for the remainder of the season….Maybe we should try to be, instead of majority of people sitting there just waiting for a bad pass or something to shout out some stupid one liner they think is funny/clever that they’ve probably been thinking up all week. ;)
Am I seeing this correctly? Fig gets linked somewhere and people are already saying he can happily go and saying it wont be a loss?? Of course it will be a loss, it will be a big loss! Been one of our more consistent, solid performers since coming into the team, this season included! Can also be used in more than one position. I for one would be sad to see him go, great player for us.
Didn’t the club announce that something like 2 thousand tickets had been sold prior to the game ?
I think they said that they had taken an allocation of 2000. Don’t remember them saying that they had sold 2000, but I may be wrong.
I don’t care if the chairman of hudderfield town told someone on here there was only 1750 both myself and everyone else there knows that is a gross under estimation.I don’t care that you don’t care. I know what I know. And if my source is wrong, she’ll get what for. But I don’t think she is.
In the first part how can you state you ‘might’ be wrong about tickets sold.. When you have previously stated that you ARE right about the fact there were 1750?? ;) (Don’t say people with tickets might not have gone as that won’t be true)
Don’t think he will start as our starting eleven never seems to change. Personally I’m not sure he is prem standard but it might not be a bad thing if he was started to try and freshen up the side. Stick him on the left wing and drop Bo, can’t be any worse surely? Can be worse defensively, and we aren’t the best defensively at the moment anyway.
