We played really well & showed how good this team is. Some great free flowing football..!
We are in good form, Blackburn scraping wins, Shrewsbury have to pick themselves up after a poor result today. Could things be changing in our favour?

Clearly a few plastics on here… Mancs and Scousers.

Couldnt give a monkeys about any of them. I grew up with both Scouse clubs being rammed down my neck, by people who didn’t actually go to games, mostly. “why do you support Wigan? They’re shit!”. Liverpool are the tourist glory hunters club and Everton are the Cinderella club. Crack on their massive because of their history, done nothing for years. Never happy with managers, never happy about anything.

And Mancs? To have it right, they have you believe that they’ve all been watching City for years… 50,000 of them. Have they balls. They’re the northern version of Chelsea, people have jumped on the bandwagon because they suddenly are amongst the trophy contenders. People with little or no football knowledge, probably never heard of the Kippax.
United? Clubs been a carnival for years. I even stopped going to Old Trafford in our top flight days as it was that cringe worthy. Cameras and megastore bags galore, half and half scarves, just a commercial enterprise. Stadium full of foreigners and Southerners.

All 4 clubs… Give me Latics any day.

All four have traditionally been well supported clubs VAT.
That said, UTD probably do come under the glory hunting banner. late 80’s their crowds averaged high 30k. Now nearer 80k, and Wigan fans have an issue with a few JCL’s turning up at the DW

Looks like a lot of Shrewsbury fans boycotted this game, for what looks like a badge change decision by the club??!! Seems a bit strange not getting behind your team for one of the biggest games of the season.

A lot of their fans seem resigned to the play off’s now anyway.

Dan Burn is a good player but he is far from Superman. He has made too many mistakes and that’s gone on for months. We have been lucky at times and he has got away with it. Far too many times he tries to play football and he is too clumsy and ties himself in a knot. Just get shut Dan. As a team we are still guilty of too much passing backwards and sideways and walking around with the ball at a snails pace. This is just monotonous and a total bore. Look at the difference just pushing the ball forward at pace makes (1st and 3rd goals against Oldham) We are sadly lacking a winger in the style of Wildschutt too. We can’t rely on the wing backs all the time because they run hot and cold. Where the hell is Reese James? Fortunately for us we have probably the strongest squad to take us up automatically but we will have to look at a lot of these points to stay in the Championship next season and to do this we can’t be throwing points away like we have done recently against Scunthorpe and Portsmouth.

It’s difficult to criticize Burn as he’s been pretty consistent this season and is the main reason we have a damn good defence. But mistakes are creeping into his game of late, two pens against him & he was turned so easily for Portsmouth’s second.

Still think he’s the best in this league though.

We didn’t get into any rhythm, poor passing at times & very slow build up. Fair to say that was one of our poorer performances, but some credit has to go to Portsmouth. Kenny did his homework on us & they chased us down from the front. We’ve not had a team do that to us for a while but when it happens we struggle to cope with it.

When all said and done Portsmouth were lucky to win, and can someone tell me what our goal was disallowed for?

And let’s hope we stay there….

To take full advantage of that Shrewsbury result we need 3 points on Monday.

Not being funny lads but it should be down to FIFA to grow a pair and reorganize it somewhere else. We certainly have the means and stadia to make it successful as do Spain,Germany France etc. Taking it off Russia wouldn’t be a problem for the tournament and would be the ultimate sanction to Putin.

Problem with that idea NL is that some of them underhanded deals that went on to secure Russia winning it in the first place might come to light…

This break come at the wrong time for them but could benefit them for the rest of the season? They could be fresher than both us & Shrewsbury through April.

One of us is going to be gutted come 5th May as reckon we’ll all keep going till the end. Just hoping Shrewsbury’s trip to Wembley acts as a distraction.

We should really be selling out for these local games especially as there’s not many to go.. two important games coming up and six points would be terrific and keep the pressure on our rivals.

The changes in personnel didn’t do us any harm either. Fultons goal was a cracker. Fair play to the hard core who travelled.

I’d put Walker in but he’s not even making bench at moment, is he injured?

Game of two halfs where we had the first. Not taking chances cost us and they did well second half.
We’ve got to improve on set pieces, how many corners in first half…. can’t remember when we last scored from a corner?
Let’s beat Walsall weds and push on in the league.

Some idiot threw a flare into his fellow tics at bottom of ES2.. Security brought him down and then others thought it right to start kicking off and big push ended up with plenty falling down steps…
                                Shameful….

Would be surprising if all three of us ended up with a 90 point tally.

Blackburn seem to be the team in form at the moment, so look favourites at the moment to win the league.

Shrewsbury keep grinding out results (even though they are a boring team to watch) so should be there or there abouts.

We are up & down at the moment so you would think we are the most likely to drop out.. But, we do have the talent to walk this league, so it’s a difficult one to call for me. Still fancy us for going up. If not as champions then as runners up.

We aren’t exactly brilliant to watch in the league at home either are we? Gillingham first half then when did we play other than workmanlike? Pretty boring in home games ourselves really when you weigh it up.[/quote]

Boring at home isn’t down to Cook, he aint no Mourinho. Boring is down to the opposition when they come and put ten men behind the ball.
Feb was our worst points to game ratio. Before that we have averaged 2+ points a month, pretty good by any standard.
I’ve seen some good football this season & spoke to supporters of other clubs who say we are the best they’ve seen.
Maybe you need to dust your passport off and get to some away games.
