This window will benefit some PL clubs as last couple of days of this window saw a few players going to other English clubs.. Time will tell on this new ruling. Let’s see what the PL clubs are saying after two of three windows. As for the EFL, surely they have to follow suit? I hope so anyway. If they do it will be more beneficial for the lower leagues. Good to see you posting again rich et al. And the usual good amusing read.. Very average, with a poor manager. It will be same old, same old next summer. Off the field events may take centre stage! Definitely agree he’s a much improved player under cook and does some good stuff in his approach play. Maybe a bit harsh with my earlier comment, but he does need to work on his end product, IMO. They do look to have the easiest group of English clubs. Spurs have got a job on their hands… Stacks of empty seats and less than 65000 there.
Maybe with us playing at home fans who follow both clubs opted to stay in Wigan and go to the DW.
It certainly didn’t make any difference to our official attendance. With less than 2000 away fans the gate was up from the Bury match who brought around 1200. Yes we had slightly less home fans there today but this is probably down to the pay on the day price which was incidentally more expensive than many Wembley tickets today. INothing to do with the national rail system being on lockdown all weekend is it? How many coaches do you think there were available in Wigan. To take the mickey out of 60 odd thousand is a bit rich when you had a conference attendance. Turning Blue :silly: :silly: :silly: Ask yourself where the other thousands of fans were today :P ;) Portsmouth brought 3,000 so that leaves 6,000 home fans and you can subtract the guaranteed attendance figures from season ticket holders so how many were really there? 4000? MASSIVE support.[/quote] Nowhere near 3k Portsmouth fans yosser..
And when all said n done, rugby fans didn’t turn up today so best you keep stum…
Trains were on “lockdown” (hate that American saying) as you put it, in 2013 when we won the FA Cup but will still took over 25k fansAnother positive display of attacking football. Can’t believe we didn’t win it. It could have been 6-0 easily at half time.
Hopefully Cook will have words with Dunkley for his stupid red card which didn’t help us. He can’t be blamed for the dropped points, it was the missed chances in the first half.
Portsmouth were poor, but got their tails up after the sending off and deserved their goal for the 10 minute period they were in the game.
We should still have managed a winner with the chances we had after their goal.
It was far more entertaining than anything I have seen for years and if we carry on like that we could be looking at a promotion party again in May or earlier.
Michael Jacobs MotM again for me.Not sure I agree with your motm horc. He played well for sure but for the first time this season his end product was that of the old Jacobs, shite.. We were great in first half and should have been out of sight as you say. Massey & Byrne linked up well, our goal was superb play. Gutted coming off the ground with a point but thoroughly enjoyed the game.
Their keeper was very good and their number 18 looked decent too.I’ve heard that figure a couple of times snowblind but on highlights there looked a few more? but not sure we should be taking the pish out of the rugby. East stand was empty today, poor attendance in my opinion. Azerbaijan.
And I didn’t Google it.Good footy knowledge indeed. Got to be a hardened fan to travel away to this one then. He’s off bags are packed, He’s not been played and with 1 year left can we honestly run the risk he makes a deal in Jan to go on a free in the summer /. Big clubs could afford to but not us.
And lets face it, he’s not gonna get much game time here. Me ? , cash in but make sure you got at least a loan on the radar till the Jan window opensI didn’t realize he only had 12 months left on his contract.. If true then he’s definitely off… Sure cookie will have someone else lined up? So basically the ‘Pig Footers’ financed their promotion last season with money they didn’t have which is cheating in other words.
Been done before and will be done again unless the points deduction clubs get for going into administration is broadened to include this sort of cheating.Suppose it was Donny, looks like they managed to keep hold of their better players by deception.
Doesn’t sound like holdsworth paid much if anything to the lender..
They will pay for this now though I suspect.I’m for it, but how would it work at away matches? Like jr says my youngest can’t see when people stand so assume if there are allocated standing areas the rest will sit? It looks pretty safe this system to me so shouldn’t be any safety concerns. In principle this transfer window closure date is a good thing but long term not sure will be ok without the rest doing the same. It could hinder prem clubs and foreign clubs could use it to their advantage maybe.
A foreign club could purposely buy a prem player after this closing date reducing prem clubs options to replace. There a few more factors that come into this,1, Do we know whether Charlton are serious about a move for Grigg?
2, Would Grigg want to go to Charlton?
3, Would we want to sell him?
4, Will we ask the right amount for him?
 5, Can Charlton afford him?
6, Have we got a replacement lined up if all the above are ‘Yes’?I think point 5 is a good point horc. Charlton are not exactly flush with cash.
Personally I’d be gutted if we got rid of Grigg now as we all know what he can do at this level. In this team he could get 30 goals this season in sure.
An excellent player to have to come off the bench.Couldn’t go yesterday but not surprised at what you mention jr. We’ve got a good un in cooky.
Back in time for Portsmouth game, can’t wait for that one.
