There can be no excuses against Cesspool, lose that and we really are in the quagmire.
They are there for the taking. (Is that spelt correctly Griff?)
Sadly they are our bogey team at home…1st game 2010-11…erm 0-4 WTF. Then 0-5 Chelski. But we then went to Spurs and won 1-0, where let’s just say, we didn’t win there the previous year ;)
That’s the thing about our club..we moan when we’re struggling, but we turn it round when we don’t expect it.
Do not give up the faith chaps..well not yet anyway
wont be long now smaller ground will be required very soon ;)Robin Park?
Put the tenant’s rent up though to cover it….
Last one out switch off the lights
if our team were in there the woman would be bored to death not one of them would score ;)mind you the woman might have a better go at scoring
Our players don’t have the scoring power of Rooney…and certainly not the spending power…
where is everyone its dead on here :woohoo:
Cardiff ?
In a brothel in Cardiff? Costa Fortune indeed :woohoo:
As probably the most successful “small club” in recent football league history, I fear that our bubble has finally burst ! Can’t ever see us clambering our way back to the top flight. How would we afford the wages, unless Dave sells out to a multi million money bags foreign investor. Football has eaten itself !!!!!!!!!
Many folk said that years ago when we had crowds of 1200. This amazing club has and always will find a way to shock. As fans we have been on the greatest ride ever and don’t worry it wont be long before we all get on the next one. I wouldn’t put anything past this club.
Exactly…
Never forget how DW was ridiculed over his “Premier League in 10 years” comment in 1995. If he had added…”and we will win the FA Cup within 20 years, beating the richest club in the world in the final”….the men in white coats would have come for him :woohoo:
For me there was something just not quite right at that fans meet the manager questions thing? Couldn’t put my finger on what but he didn’t come across as amiable ! I thought he was the man for the job and still might prove to be but his tinkering is a concern for me! Was the new striker injured today, if not then a concerning substitution !
Brentford fans rated him as arrogant and clueless.
Was that before or after he left them?
After all, no one on here said anything negative about Bobby, ever ;)
As I predicted , looks like Burnley are in for McArthur , won’t be long before he’s off.You can put your bottom dollar on Forshaw coming to Wigan.
I agree with your first comment CW ;)
:( I`m getting bad vibes from what i`m seeing so far but it is early days it feels already like Saturdays game is make or break for us .
Dear me I consider ” make or break” as you put it to be a promotion or relegation decider not the first away game of the season at a ground we have never done very well at in the past!
let’s make our judgements after the transfer window has closed and a month or two has gone by.
5th league game 30th August Birmingham. Let’s look at the table then and comment.
This season will be the closest Championship imaginable. I would not be surprised if the gap between playoffs (6th) and relegation (22nd) is 12 points.
Look at the relegated teams…Norwich & Fulham lost, Cardiff drew. Our draw was hardly a disaster.
As loose as we like so long as we don’t lose….
Thank god for Carson that save in the second half was save of the season , Mr dependable McCarthur is lost in our team and deserves Premiership football , our performance was garbage and god knows whats going on , we`ve gone backwards i can`t remember us having a single shot for 85 minutes Riera didn`t see enough of , Taylor left wide open with no cover , Huws send him back left us wide open but did have the odd glimpse , Cowie average but looked better than the others its going to be a long season and not impressed . :(What was the score at the interval? ;)
You’re living up to your name for sure. Yes, today wasn’t great, but we didn’t loose (somehow).
We will play far better and loose. That’s football for you.
If you want to recall a disaster on the opening day, think back 4 years and 0-4 to Blackpool. Now that was bad
Yes the 2nd half was dreadful.
A point is a point though…
Will our followers ever ever learn not to leave before close of play?
Absolutely wide open isn’t it?
Anyone in the top half could get automatic promotion really. Weren’t Burnley one of the favourites to go down last year…weren’t Blackpool favourites to go down last time they won promotion via the Play Offs…
Anyone’s ball game really…let’s just hope it’s ours
Just to let everyone know that from the reading game next Saturday it will be £5 to park on car park 4.
Which is car park 4
The one off Saddle Junction behind B&Q
CP 3 is the fancy one behind the East Stand…
Just to let everyone know that from the reading game next Saturday it will be £5 to park on car park 4.Yes, they’ve updated the website to confirm this.
ST sales were always going to be under pressure this season.
They held up really well last season given the euphoria from winning the Cup, looking forward to Europe and the expectation (rightly or wrongly) of going straight back up.
I got the impression at the end of last season that quite a few wouldn’t renew. It was disappointing that the club didn’t give us ST holders any discount for the QPR play off game.
So what happened? The Club put the prices up, despite 3 fewer games. We can argue all day about our prices compared to others, but this is Wigan
People call us in’t West old fuddies etc, but looking at the seat plan more of us have renewed than elsewhere in the ground…everyone around me has, Griff included of course!
Anyway who cares. We just have to make more noise…onwards and upwards…
