When the trophy in Egg’s avatar was paraded around at the Middlesbrough game by the players they got a great round of applause.

Some were more interested than others inevitably, but don’t remember anyone jeering etc.

Then again I was a bit tired after the long drive back from Wembley….at least it was a 3.00 ko

It’s really kicking off there now…

Couple of big 20 man brawls

The old Hampden Park must have been impressive, except when there were 500 watching Queens Park!

Or what about White City? Held a game in the 1966 WC as Wembley’s then owner wouldn’t cancel the greyhound meeting…gone to the dogs indeed

Real Madrid (done the stadium tour, not been to match)
Barcelona
Bayern Munich (Allianz arena looks well impressive
Benfica (been past the Stadium of Light, not been in!)
Rangers (preferably back in their rightful league!)

No particular order…

2-0 Hull after 8 minutes

Wenger’s windmill impression will be starting soon

Shouldn’t we be allowed to keep it as the last winners?

Looking at his “record” has he got more convictions or goals?

1 goal in 18 appearances for us according to Wikipedia. He certainly wasn’t the answer to our striker issues!

am i right in thinking that his solitary goal came from the penalty spot.
Correct :cheer:

Blackburn 3 – 1 Wigan
HT 2 – 1 FT 3 – 1

Roque Santa Cruz (12, 63)Christopher Samba (s/o 16)Jason Roberts (45)
Marlon King (pen 17)Wilson

22/3/08….notice who scored against us ;)

St Wolfgang in t’Austrian Lakes.

4 weeks tomorrow…can’t wait

in reply to: Preston #131194

Now then chaps, we’re hardly in a position to gloat with our play off record are we?

Preston fell short for the same reason as us…got to win your home game or you’re very unlikely to get through.

DW was right to get shut of him…3rd time he’s been sent down

Thanks for that, seems a pretty fair summary of the season.

Supporting Wigan is a fine line between elation and despair; balancing hope against reality.

29 home games….that will take some beating.

And its not Caldwell (i thought he’s been back to his best of late) its Uwe ,to many games this season he’s made his changes and mucked it up and once again he’s come up trumps ,he’s a young manager and learning his trade but time after time hes made the wrong changes ,i can’t wait for next season and if he keeps going with his squad rotation (which he will going of what i’m hearing) hes of my Christmas card list( i bet hes not happy about that ) . :(

I disagree.

Had Coyle still been in charge we would have been fighting relegation, not the play offs.

The players are knackered. Without rotation some of them wouldn’t even be standing let alone running.
Bet Whelan wished he took Steve Mc Claren instead of Owen Coyle.we might have been promoted.
Yes.

At least DW told Coyle to get his croat before he took us down

McLean scores it’s game over but got to be honest thought best team won, however think caldwells going to need the old tin hat

Easy to pick a scapegoat…..Caldwell, Fortune, Gomez of old….

Fact is we have not gone up because we don’t have a proven goalscorer. Go back to the last hours of the transfer window in August. McCarthy went to Everton, Jordan Rhodes didn’t come to us.

We’ve got 2 decent keepers, decent defence (Boycey great yet again tonight), strong midfield. We’re lacking up front…
