Strongest side out there tomorrow please Uwe; let’s get the job done tomorrow and secure the play off spot.
Don’t want to be going to Blackburn on the last day still needing a point (or more)
Rotate the side against Birmingham and Blackburn, then back to full strength for play off first leg…and again full strength on the Monday if we have to.
Nearly a fortnight then to the final…like a holiday this season that break!!
It will still look like an upside down wheelbarrow whatever they call it
It’s a better stadium than ours
By a country mile
Sadly I have to agree with you there gents.
Looks aside it’s pretty good. Plus we don’t have a hotel built into the DW B)
It will still look like an upside down wheelbarrow whatever they call it
Always remember driving past on the M61 soon after it opened with an ex GF…who pointed at it and said “what is that thing?”
And then she turned round to admire Bolton’s stadium ;)
Well I did say ex GF ;)

Rotation is controversial…but by 3rd May we will have played…
47 Championship (the 59 min at Sheffield W included)
1 Comm Shield
1 Cap 1 Cup
6 Europa…including a very long away trip to Kazan
6 FA CupAnd hopefully 3 more to come….
Didn’t Uwe say that’s the most games any English league club will play this season?
Surprised no one mentioned the score
84-6 wasn’t it?
St Helens lost at Widnes so a top BH weekend of thugby.
Shouldn’t break sweat next week against Hunslet. I feel yet another trip to Wembley coming up
Today was disappointing. Any defeat is disappointing; in this case hardly unexpected.
Brighton/Ipswich drawing has made the position clearer. 3 points, preferably a win on Saturday and we’re definitely in the play offs.
These final 3 games will not be easy though. Blackpool and Birmingham are fighting for their lives and Blackburn could still be challenging for 6th on 3rd May.
That said, I’m confident now we will be playing QPR on 9th…It is an advantage to play home 1st IMHO….get the runs on the board etc…. :woohoo:
3 Premier League hat-tricks.
Henri Camara
Marcus Bent
???????????If scoring a hat-trick is not proof enough that a player is worthy of the division, then what is?
Another couple of excellent results today…QPR loosing means we have a very good chance of overtaking them. Ipswich loosing means we are 6 points clear of 7th place with those teams only having 3 left to play….
Bottom line now is 1 more win and we’re 99.9% in the play offs. Let’s go for it at the Dingles and get the job done…certainly against Blackpool next week failing that.
The media are making a lot of it being an advantage playing the 2nd leg at home. Is it really? I like the idea of playing at home first. “Get the runs on the board and bat them out of the game” as my mate Sir Geoffrey says
Onwards and upwards…. B)
We looked a very strong side today. Were Reading poor or did we make them look poor? Who cares frankly!
What a difference to have Maloney back to full fitness; he looked sharp today as did Callum…and what a goal from Jordi
6 of the Cup Final starting 11 started today…the six who are still here and not at erm, that club in Liverpool. Is that the first time that’s happened this season? I’ll leave it to WGTB to tell us ;)
Handy results as well with Bournemouth loosing and Brighton drawing, just need Ipswich not winning tomorrow to complete the set. 1 more win and we’re 99% certain for the play offs. Let’s secure the play off spot asap then see how far up we can push.
It’s a stupid call from the RFL though I think. There will be plenty of empty seats at the Etihad
Hull FC V KR happens at least 3 times a season…Hull City in the FA Cup final is probably a once in a lifetime event (and that’s for very old people)….
I reckon it’s down to the keeper guessing right at the end of day and that’s what the Arsenal keeper himself has admitted to.
Obviously the keeper has to go the right way. He can go the right way and still be beaten though if the penalty has enough power and is placed well. See the Gomez penalty for example.
The first two penalties were terrible penalties simple as that.
Having seen the Collison pen again BTW I still think Fabianski moves off his line before he’s taken it.
Here’s my video taken from Block 501, row 18…
Play it frame by frame. Fabianski’s left foot is nearly 2 yards off the line when the ball is struck. How did Oliver not spot that?
We won’t score a lot of goals but, if things go our way, we could win it one-nil. However, it may be close and could well go to extra time.
Not a bad forecast!
So nearly there…I got the Gomez penalty bit right as well…
We’ll be back soon ie 24th May :woohoo:
Told you Jordi wouldn’t miss on the biggest stage…
Shame he didn’t get to take his penalty in the shoot out.
Just got home as we stayed over near Luton.
Still buzzing from the whole thing really, despite the penalty shoot out.
We really were sooo close to winning it!!
We were queued up for a while getting back into Wembley Park station, lots of Arsenal fans around, plenty of comments like “that’s the best team outside the Prem”, “better than a lot of Prem teams” “very organised”…etc
They couldn’t beat us in 120 min of open play. Top effort yesterday. Carry on like that we will be back in May and winning the play offs :cheer:
