It’s a stupid call from the RFL though I think.
There will be plenty of empty seats at the Etihad
Hull FC V KR happens at least 3 times a season…Hull City in the FA Cup final is probably a once in a lifetime event (and that’s for very old people)….
I reckon it’s down to the keeper guessing right at the end of day and that’s what the Arsenal keeper himself has admitted to.
Obviously the keeper has to go the right way. He can go the right way and still be beaten though if the penalty has enough power and is placed well. See the Gomez penalty for example.
The first two penalties were terrible penalties simple as that.
Having seen the Collison pen again BTW I still think Fabianski moves off his line before he’s taken it.
Here’s my video taken from Block 501, row 18…
Play it frame by frame. Fabianski’s left foot is nearly 2 yards off the line when the ball is struck. How did Oliver not spot that?
We won’t score a lot of goals but, if things go our way, we could win it one-nil. However, it may be close and could well go to extra time.
Not a bad forecast!
So nearly there…I got the Gomez penalty bit right as well…
We’ll be back soon ie 24th May :woohoo:
Told you Jordi wouldn’t miss on the biggest stage…
Shame he didn’t get to take his penalty in the shoot out.
Just got home as we stayed over near Luton.
Still buzzing from the whole thing really, despite the penalty shoot out.
We really were sooo close to winning it!!
We were queued up for a while getting back into Wembley Park station, lots of Arsenal fans around, plenty of comments like “that’s the best team outside the Prem”, “better than a lot of Prem teams” “very organised”…etc
They couldn’t beat us in 120 min of open play. Top effort yesterday. Carry on like that we will be back in May and winning the play offs :cheer:
London Evening Standard;Rosler will play “with a three man defence and wing-backs. Marc-Antoine Fortune will be the lone front man.”
They could line up;
Al Habsi
Boyce Ramis Bartlett
Perch and Beausejour
McManaman McArthur Gomez Powell
FortuneRosler could start with a more defensive midfield, with McEachran or Collison instead of McManaman. Maloney to come on as a substitute.
Subs; Carson, Crainey, Rogne, McEachran, Collison, Maloney, Maynard
I hope they play well and that everybody has a good day out! Reaching the semifinal two years running is an extraordinary achievement. The final two years running…that would be incredible!
When did we sign him?
Typical Cockneys…can’t even get our players’ names right.
Last para…yes I’ll second that. Have a great time people. Hands up who honestly thought we would be back to Wembley this season, playoffs aside!!
Love the way they say “operational reasons”.
That’s London speak for “Wigan have sold so few tickets we don’t need to bother opening all the entrances”
We’ll shown em all…yet again B)
That win pretty much secured another season of Premier Lge football, given Portsmouth’s collapse on and off the pitch.
A few other points to take from that famous occasion….
1. We thought that would be Ben Watson’s most important goal :woohoo:
2. Wenger does a good impression of a windmill
3. Charlie slept very well that night after that goal
4. Bobby looked years younger lol…
5. Never, ever, leave a Tics match before the end. Will they ever learn?
Bring back Zaki…
Wasn’t he world ranked number 1 striker when he signed for us? Even the Mrs said there had to be a catch
Looked to me like 9 players where second to every ball so fear of knocks for team selection on Saturday.
Looked to me like 9 players who know there’s absolutely zip chance of them playing on Saturday and therefore couldn’t give a toss last night.
No harm done, as it happens.
No harm done ? Did Brighton, Ipswich and Bournemouth not all win and put themselves just 6 points behind us ! A 9 point cushion with just 5 to play would have been a whole lot easier on the nerves, especially as the aforementioned sides all have winnable on Saturday when we are otherwise engaged !
Keep calm and carry on….as they say.
Win the 2 homes games left and we’re 99% in the play offs.
Just remember what happened the game before the cup final…look how we bounced back.
I feel more confident about Saturday after last night, choosing my words carefully ;)
Don’t forget Aston Vile , Man ure , cup less palace ,Joke city!
baa diff is a cracker btw Griff !!The Cardiff one is a classic, I won’t disagree there for once in a while
Is there a similar one for their friends down the road?
Just had a look on Oddschecker.
Our win odds for Saturday vary from 21/4 down to 10/3! That’s a serious cut from 8/1 a few days ago.
We are 9/4 favourites to win the play offs. Derby 11/4 QPR 3/1
Update….
I’ve looked again in the last minute, our best price is now 5/1…someone’s putting money on us somewhere!!
Since I rather foolishly started the topic, being without 4 brain cells according to our resident sage…
+2 tickets in 501
Setting off about 5.30 (if the wife’s up in time :S ) drive to outlying Tube station (aka 11/5/13, 11/8/13, 24/8/13 then heading into the Smoke for a look round and luncheon at a Pizza place
Stopping off on the way back at a Premier Inn just off junction 9 off M1.
Costs..Don’t ask.
About £45 in diesel. Hotel is £58. M6 tolls £10. T’Underground £12.50×2. Lunch int smoke £40. Programme £6? Ales at ground £??? Coffes, snackes/meal as well….
Tickets already cost £100
Worth every penny…up the Latics.
Plz don’t question my support (Griff)
Tuesday was the beautiful draw. Today was the ugly win…
I know which I prefer, especially at the business end of the season.
Cracking set of results this afternoon with only Reading winning. 9 points clear of the play off chasing pack, 4 of them now!
Next Tuesday will be even uglier, well at the Millwall end at least.
Shame he can’t play against Arsenil
Please God, let that have been a simple typo
unless leyland is meaning that arsenal won’t score.
;)
An excellent way to celebrate his permanent arrival too!!
