About time we had a home league game on live.
Anyone would think Sky were going down the table in alphabetical order the time we’ve had to wait….except the superstars of Yeovil have already been on
Presumably Callum was on the bench last night as the plan is for him to start on Saturday?
Espinoza/Gomez to start as well?
The more of the cup winning side who can start the better; they won it, they deserve it. Keeping hold of the cup as long as possible should mean more to them than the newer players
The pitch has been much better since the last big relay…3 years or so ago.
It stood up well last Saturday despite the downpours and Charlton. 5 years ago it would have cut up big time.
As others have said, Peterborough’s pitch last night was awful.
New grounds take time to get the pitch sorted…DW, Wembley, Durham cricket, Hants cricket etc. SAF used to blame the Thugby once a year for Old Trafford’s pitch problems mid 2000s when really it was due to the lack of sunshine in Manchester generally and the new higher stands.
There are far worse pitches than ours…don’t believe what the press say
Beckham had his moments as a player but was overrated I thought. Can’t stand her though.
The Beckhams could remake this advert if they are struggling for work…Sums them up nicely :cheer:
Get past Cardiff and draw the winner of either of the Sheffield games and who knows, we could be heading back to Wembley.I hope we are at full strength against Cardiff; I doubt they will be at full strength.
Get past Cardiff and avoid Arsenal/Liverpool or City/Chelsea and preferably Everton, anything is possible.
The old cliché of one game at a time could not be more appropriate!
Ok we’ve even less chance of winning the cup than this time last year. The difference is we have belief. Belief that we can win!
I wouldn’t go booking your hotel just yet though, unless it’s fully refundable ;)
Jordi looked sharp as soon as he came on before the free kick.
McClean had another good game I thought.
Charlton were hardly out of their own half apart from when they scored and hit the bar. Defeat today would have been a travesty…but then again, the scoreboard doesn’t lie.
Serves them right all those who left at 0-1…today was a classic for keeping the faith to the end :cheer:
They don’t give any thought at all to the fans. They don’t care if they can get to matches or get home;FA Cup semi-final tie Millwall v Wigan Athletic at Wembley Stadium
Saturday April 13 2013 17.15FA Cup final tie Man City v Wigan at Wembley Stadium
Saturday May 11 2013 17.15And then our usual critics in the press wondered why we sold fewer tickets than Millwall (I chose not to use the word supporter in their case ;) )
Agreed. The FA Cup Final should be 3.00pm. We got home from the final at 1.45am…stuck on M6 near Coventry for 1.5 hrs. Quite funny really… windows down and chatted to Latics fans to our left and City fans on the right as we sat going nowhere in lane 2!!
Went to “another cup final” at Wembley late August 3pm kick off. Same travel arrangements ie car to outlying Tube station then t’Underground to Wembley…back home for 10.30pm.
Its staying at 5.15 KO on the BBC isn’t it in 2015?
Would have taken Cardiff at home, we may need a replay…could have been far worse though.
What potential though if we can get past Cardiff. 2 out of the big 4 deffo out. Definitely 1 or good chance of 2 other Championship teams in the 6th Round.
This is just starting to look a bit like last year all over again….
Can we choose who to play?Only in the semi finals ;)
Callum looked sharp as well. Hopefully he’ll last 90 min soon.
Ali some top saves, looking good again.
Absolutely perishing that wind. Parked up about 1.30 and the rain was going horizontal across the car park. Car was shaking literally  Don’t notice the weather though when we win…
5th round? Several Championship teams still in, plus PNE (just). Quite fancy our chances at home against Cardiff/Sunderland. Hull would be amusing! City/Chelsea/Arsenal away…well at least we went out to a potential winner!
The road to Wembley takes many twists…we’ve got past Milton Keynes but in reality we’re around Stafford at the moment
We should take it as a compliment really how our former managers are so interested in raiding our talent! Lambert of course not being a former manager
Yep , bags packed off to Hull, DW needs money to service the jet.
Let’s be honest though, your track record at predicting these things isn’t particularly good now, is it?
Most forums have their troll types, who spend most if not all of their time criticising, even belittling other members, rather than contributing anything positive themselves.
Cockneylatic has it’s troll.
It has been very noticeable recently how quiet the forum has become, especially over such a busy footballing time. So little post match discussion now (not that there was much to say about Saturday’s debacle).
People have stopped contributing because they feel their contributions will be ridiculed.
It is a sad state of affairs, but that’s where we are.
You think I am going waste my time trying to have a serious conversation about football – or anything – with someone who feels the need to post the fact that he is angry that a national newspaper has omitted to print a football fixture?
I have many a sensible and serious conversation about Latics and football in general. However, I tend to hold them in a pub though, with people whose opinions and company I like and respect. For the most part, the population of this forum is only fit for belittling and ridiculing, to be perfectly frank. The minority that are worth bothering about know who they are and are probably having their own sensible football discussions away from this forum as well.
If you don’t want your comments on a public forum ripped to shreds, I’d suggest making them less rippable or stop posting altogether.
Oh, and it’s “cockneylatic has its troll”
And CupWinners – good effort with the ‘nob’ reply. I simply can’t compete with that razor-like wit.
1) Thank you for confirming your opinion on most of us plebs. I’m surprised you still grace us with your participation, more’s the pity.
2) Everyone’s entitled to their opinion on any topic, agree/disagree, whatever. What I take objection to is those posters who feel the need to resort to personal abuse, name calling and the like when they don’t agree with someone else’s opinion. It says far more about the name caller than the original poster.
Oh and by the way, when I want your advice I’ll ask for it; don’t hold your breath.

Visited my old mum today and flicked through her copy of the SE.
I reckon we should boycott the 2 Express papers. That is if anyone buys the fascist supporting rags in the first place.
Well your dear old mum obviously likes the fascist supporting rag.

Only on a Sunday. Rest of the week she gets the Daily Mail
I was trying to show yet another instance of the press, in this case perhaps by negligence or omission, rather than malice, undermining us.
Let’s have a repeat score on Saturday from the last time Crystal Palace visited us..that will do nicely.
Oh, do grow up, for Christ’s sakeI did age 5 years when I read it and for a split second thought we had been expelled from the cup
