Tough call at the moment. Ultimately everyone will have to make their own decision on their attitude to the risk of potentially losing ££ if the worst happens.
I don’t believe for a moment that the sales were pulled at 1830 on Thursday the day before release due to “ongoing technological improvements”…..
Personally, obviously I want to renew (preferably at the early price!) but I’ll leave until the last day of the early price. Do pay on a credit card anyone who can to get “Section 75” protection. If you go with the club’s instalments plan you would likely lose any money you’ve already paid if the worst happens.
Trying to stay positive, but it’s difficult to see this ending well.
As per previous posts, where the f@@k is the 125% in the deposit account? The account the EFL (not unreasonably for once) told the owners to set up to avoid “liquidity” issues. Or did that get used already and not replenished?
The EFL are going to crucify us over this.
Maloney’s body language tonight was not one of a man with plenty of money who’d just been told his wages would be a day late. That said a lot.
The credit insurance market moves incredibly quickly. Every phoenix company, by definition, is deemed high risk until it proves itself otherwise. When the results came out, the credit rating collapsed, so they had to withdraw the ST sales on Thursday, but blamed it on “continued technological improvements”.
We didn’t see the last administration coming. This time the writing is already on the wall.
RIP.
NB the Body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Bamber Bridge FC.
Let’s face it, we’re about Kerry Packered on and off the pitch
It’s strongly rumoured that ST sales were pulled because the credit card companies demanded a massive payment up front due to the high risk of the club folding within the next year (leaving them liable under “Section 75” claims).
After months in Admin, any owner was better than no owner, but seriously, what do we really know about these people? Part of me thinks maybe we should have done a deal with the Devil incarnate (aka Pollard) after all. At least we would know who we’re dealing with.
Never mind, look forward to the game this afternoon. Err, Burnley away, it really couldn’t get any worse.
I need a stiff drink
The goalkeeper one is really annoying. Last couple of minutes with their team winning 1-0, keeper places the ball for goal kick, walks back ready to run up to kick it, then walks (slowly) back to the ball and replaces it on the other side of the 6 yard box…process repeats….
What about making it so once the keeper places the ball down, he has 10 or maybe 15 seconds to take the kick, otherwise it’s play on! That’ll soon stop the nonsense
Not sure why all the TV cameras were there today; just wait till we have one of those drone camera things suspended above the pitch!
To a neutral, that was the epitome of a bottom 3 clash with neither side creating many real chances.
Who cares though, a win is a win
But who would want it after what has just happened is Steve Bruce available
Well we’ve signed Christ so next step the third coming of Bruce
Seriously though, he would sort out the defence. The football won’t be pretty but beggars can’t be choosers
Kelly until the end of the season isn’t a bad option IMHO. After all, we did win more games under him than Kolo
Maloney? Yes if we can get him I’d go for that. It’s no coincidence this century that our more successful managers have been ex players for us (Leam aside) ie Jewell, Bobby, Caldwell (well he did win Lge 1), Cook, so onwards and upwards…the only way is up!

Couldn’t go tonight but hearing it wasn’t good, to put it diplomatically?
17 January 2023 at 4:13 pm in reply to: Will Latics go through FA Cup 3rd Rnd Replay v Luton #197951It’s a no from me…sooner win Saturday
Let’s see who’s in Kolo’s little book of contacts.
Seem to recall something similar being said about Yootha Joyce’s list of contacts and look how that turned out; making Mackay look like Bill Shankly.
Thankfully I couldn’t go last night. Sounds like I dodged a bullet!
There is a positive to take from last night….we can’t drop down the table on Monday
Very bad decision. Up there with appointing Mackay…
Obviously home form especially hasn’t been good this season but with so much of the season still to go and given how compact the table is way too early to be changing manager.
The board need to get the appointment right and show real commitment in the January window, or I fear the fans will turn on the owners. I’ll no doubt end up there on Saturday, but at the moment I’m seriously considering boycotting Saturday’s game; from what I’m hearing I’m not alone.
A sad day for the club. All the best for the future Leam; you’ve been treated badly.
We did wonder what the delay to the start of play was as it surely wasn’t due to crowd congestion
If, and it’s a big if, the goal posts were the wrong height, there’s a very simple solution. It will be known in Wigan as the Lindsay rule. The goalposts will be cemented into the ground and cannot ever be removed, literally not an inch
F**k the EFL
Season ticket arrived this morning
