Martinez attempted to win tonight. He failed. Again. Failure.
Oh dear another attempt at being funny
Fail
Was a desperate attempt to be funny and desperately failed. Well said thty
better to have awful attempts at being funny, than awful attempts at licking bobbys ringo.
What a poor game the other night!! but one thing springs to mind ‘THE LACK OF FIGHT AND DESIRE!’All the things wigan have stood for over the years, under Jewell we had bags of it even under Hutchings we had some, Under old big ed Bruce we has it, we fought, scrapped our way through games with the odd bit opf quality, we got blocks, tackles in putting bodies on the line pressed team we have done none of this all season.
I saw Paul Scharner shaking his head at Greame Jones during the game after Jones was passing on instructions – this shows me that the players dont wanna play for them, i hacve seen this on a number of occassions this season.
For me – and i have said this before – bring the greatest manager in our history back at least till the end of the season ‘Paul Jewell’ – keep us up and then re-assess averything, he is free avialable and i reckon he would love to come back, he would install some desire and fight back in us and hae us tearing up teams on this dire pitch we have!
We are just lucky there are some bad teams in this league this season or we would be adrift at the bottom, This manager seeems clueless and inexperienced and is the root of our problems!! Give us some fight back!! the one thing Wigan Athletic have stood for!!!
Paul Jewell back in for me and quick !!!!
Super Duper Ronny Atkinson – hes gonna come and save the day!! Or is he dead? Maybe they will sack Manuel and appoint Benson if they can get him out of his crypt.

From the BBC:Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon is being lined up for a return to action against Wigan on Sunday having been sidelined with a groin injury since the end of December.
shame that. Hope he doesnt do it twice.
it was meant to be a sarcastic quip – you lot seem to think hes doing a good job and i dont think hes very bright, actually he could well be bright its just he is not very good at his job.
Yes, I know it was. We also know how you feel. You’ve told us so a milion times. No real need to come on saying exactly the same things, dropped point after dropped point.
Just because some of us are prepared to give him time to rectify some of the shortcomings he undoubtedly has doesn’t make us all imbeciles and you Guus Hiddink.
Hypothetically – how much time will you give him?
i think your ok john and perhaps i took you the wrong way the other night hence me saying that posting on messages boards is ambiguous which is the same as texting. though i admit i went of at the deep end last week. i am not a bad lad john and we would like to go on your coach to some games(if we are invited ;) ). we are going brum but were driving and staying for the night which to me is what the away game thing is all about. match, pi.s up and night out in where ever.Ha ha – ace.
Only one man can answer those questions and if Whelan has any sense you will find him at the job centre. :xOne more big defeat and the Spaniards ‘revolution’ will be over.
Team 4 Sunderland tomorrow –Skokyovic
Boyce Caldwell Titus Maynor
Thomas Diame
Moses McCarthy N’Zogbia
Hugo
(4-2-3-1)No chance – he will start Scotland. Again.
What I’ve noticed recently (inparticular Man U away & Hull at home) is that when they give away possession in an attacking position, Latics can have as many as 5 players (centre forward, right sided attacker/winger, left sided attacker/winger, the “in the hole” player & the more attackign central midfielder) making no attempt to get back behind the ball
And its happening time & time again, game after game
So whatever formation Bobby is trying to play doesn’t appear to be working yet he is persisting with it. As i said several months ago, how many times does someone have to stick their hand in a fire before they realise that it burns?so what you are saying is our forwards are not cutting the mustard when we dont have the ball.
And our defence is cack.
Why oh why keep going on about Jason Scotland? Just because some people do not get on his back and deride him doesn’t automatically mean that they think he is as good as Alan Shearer etc. Please change the record and post something positive about Moreno or Moses.
PS Don’t tell me Koumas is Premier League standard !
So we are not allowed to have a go at Scotland who has done nothing for us goal wise (except the one against Notts County), yet you can slate Koumas??
Koumas has scored more premier league goals this season and last season that Scotland ever has or ever will. If Koumas is not Premier class, then Scotland is not South Lancs class.
You seem pretty certain (in this & other threads) that Bobby is very close to getting the chopWhilst I aint entirely sure that wouldn’t be a bad thing I would have thought that if Whelan was having doubts he’d have given him the ol’ heave ho before the transfer window where he gave him several million quid to spend
Maybe so regarding the several million quid – but did Bobby sign them, or was it not a case of Waldorff and Stadler (Uncle Dave and Benno) sharing a bottle or two of red in the old Wrightington Country Club, deciding on who and when we sign a few players? Just a thought like.
When you tread on a mahogany whipped whirl these days, its like standing in Jason Scotlands goal scoring ability.
That’s a brilliant analogy. Well done.
Ta.
Im assuming thats sarcasm. If so – well done. If not, the ‘Ta’ still stands.
Go. Before its too late.
Too late for what? The club will survive a relegation, if that’s what you’re implying. You’ll still be able to watch the Premier League on Sky, so you’ll be OK.
Another veiled dig eh?
I dont watch it on SKy, i watch it on Showsports. I live in Dubai. I have done for 2 years. I still have my season ticket that i pay for and my nephew uses, im back from Dubai in 2 years, and will continue to go, same seat i have had since the stadium opened. They didnt have seats at Springfield Park (well at least not in the Phoenix stand) so my season ticket there was not in the same spot.
It was what i was implying.
Thanks for the concern.
Not as depressed as Bobby will be when he gets sacked on Sunday.
