……… that was a poor decision by whomever and sort of typifies our club at the moment.
…and yet Latics won the LFA Youth Cup 6-1 on Saturday. Why doesn’t that typify the club ? ……. building for the future ?
Apart from the bench do we not have a couple out on loan somewhere? Being bereft of a regular striker or two has certainly aided our demise to the lower leagues ! You can plead austerity measures all you want but we have had strikers and chose not to use them! Even to the football outsider it ain’t rocket science ! :dry:That’s the point though ……. the two on the bench hardly fit the template of “natural attacker” …….certainly from what they’ve shown here with Latics.
With regard to the 2 on loan, I’ve no idea what the terms of those loans are, but I’d assume that if they could have been recalled, then they would have.
The issue was whether or not Caldwell had much choice in his selection. That ain’t rocket science either.
Keep the faith Donny; remember all those Jimmy Bibby types who ridiculed us for following Gordon Milne’s blue and white boys. How remarkable have we been since those days, constantly kicking dirt in their face. CMON the TICS
…….. Today in a game we had to win at all cost we started with no natural attackers. …….
Ste, I’m sure if we had any (who were fit and available), they’d have started the game.
Jesus I’m not blaming him for our plight …….….and yet you want him replaced as Manager.
J……Don’t know if the penny still not dropping with some folks but strikers have played in that position since childhood and it’s an instinct based role which you can’t expect from a player thrust in as a makeshift striker. …..Have you ever actually watched Fortune & McKay play ?
Calamity picks the team and his negative tactics stink. We can not begin the next season with his type of tactics, team selection and formations. Its shit.Give o’er Ste. It’s either a crap wind-up, you’re pissed, or you’re going doolally !
The point I’m making is our forwards won’t bag sat on the bench. .There’s very little chance of them bagging on the pitch either.
Blaming Caldwell is just sad.
Sunday afternoon supping isn’t good for you Ste ;)
Whichever players Mackay lost, it was only through his own fault ……… but then again, you know that really !
Told you before Ste, she split up from him ……. would have brought too much shame on the family ! She married a Worzel from Devon.
Stick with Nuneaton …….. he talks more sense. ;)
Well said sir. Donnys page is just a mallet yeaded tupyead ! ;)
We won the cup despite of Bob.
Remember being so close to going out in the third round because of his tactics and team selection.
The most boreing four years of football I can ever remember watching Latics.
Oh and I remember the man took us down then walked.
Cheers Bob the decline started with you.Tha knows nowt thee. Stick to fishing. ;)
It would appear that it’s not just a few folk on here who know a bad manager when we see one! …………. the truth is we KNEW he would fail! ………..Bugger me ! I reckon there’s quite few Managers who wouldn’t mind having an FA Cup win on their CV, yet be considered a “bad manager” or a failure by message board experts. !
#leaveitbe
Well for the first one, pausing it when it hits Fortune’s head and then drawing a line parallel with the pitch from the defender to McClean will help ;) ………..He was offside from Bong’s pass ………you can just see his feet behind the defender.
It’s the difference between Rosler’s & Mackay’s records. Uwe accumulated points at home, but struggled away ……….. Mackay’s had a couple of (streaky ?) away wins but the home form under him has been abysmal.
Maybe the question should be ……..
“HTF
are wecan the opposition be expected to play attractive football on that? You never know ………that may yet be our saviour !
;)Just admitted that he was attempting to take his own life! Not a care for the lorry driver or the family and friends he would have left behind wondering why? No sympathy from me whatsoever the selfish bastard!
It’s a dark place that takes you there Phil, being selfish would be the last thing on your mind I can only imagine. Would have thought a lorry would have finished him off mind so somehow it went wrong or he got his cry for help answered.
I think what filmoss was getting at Tez is that jumping in front of a lorry to kill yourself is in itself a selfish act insomuch as it would leave a devastated driver to continue with his life afterwards.
My Father-in-Law is a train driver and has had similar experiences. Suicide isn’t a solitary act if you involve someone else in the taking of your life.
