I suspected something was wrong last week.I think that’s it now we’re finished. :-(

Could be a massive week for Latics.Let’s hope the takeover is completed.I am getting worried that our younger players are attracting interest from the vultures.I hope it’s not the admin putting their feelers out trying to get one last pay day.If it is ,it could scupper the deal with the Spanish who would be justified in pulling out.Fingers crossed everything will go through and if any players are sold in January we will get their true market value and the proceeds re invested in team.

The admin should be held to account. It’s OK penny pinching because we are in administration but there is an obligation to provide a playing surface up to EFL standards. They should be made to contribute to the repair of the pitch.Surely a few heat lamps left on overnight would not break the bank.

They are not using the heat lamps on it and it makes a huge difference. It was like a bowling green last season with both football and rugby playing on it.

(1)The EFL did not approve one person ,Cristo .He has since been removed from the Spanish bid team. The EFL are now happy with Moreno.
              (2) The figures did not include the Supporters club money.
(3)Wigan Athletic Supporters club are actively trying to help conclude the deal as soon as possible.( please read their Christmas statement ).
              (4) Lisa Nandy and the Council and Lenegan for that matter have stated they want a local owner. However ,since the 1st of July they have done nothing about it.In the meantime assets have been sold off.The club was on offer at a rock bottom price ,but still nothing from Nandy and Co.
Who would your choice of owner be ? from the information I have seen ( I stand to be corrected ) there are no viable alternatives.

The way it comes across to me is they won’t be doing any investing, in fact quite the opposite, sure I read something about them scrapping the academy.
If anything, that is the one thing we need to carry on, or the future players or player sales will see us die anyway.
Why are the administrators the only ones that think these are the best option?

I think they are looking to invest further into the academy. They want to invest in players and then sell some of them on.Nothing wrong with that ,even at the peak of the Whelan Premier league era we always sold at least a couple of players a season for a sizeable profit. The Latics fans I have spoken to are very positive about the Spanish ,they are football people who know how to run a football club that punches above its weight so I don’t know where you get it’s only the administrators that think they are the best option.

We have to get behind the Spanish. If other local bidders were really interested they would have made a bid before assets were sold off like the Euxton training ground and most of the players.Right at the start of all this nightmare Nandy ,Lenegan ,the Council and others stated they wanted Latics to continue but then proceeded to do absolutely nothing about it.It looked like we were going under until the Spanish put the money on the table.Let’s give them our full support.

Happy days for sure. Who could have predicted then the journey we were about to undertake.
We should all raise a glass at Christmas to Latics fans past and present. Long may we continue.
                    :good:

Lovely photo. I never knew Albert Tatlock was a fan of latics.

Or Sherlock Holmes ! Magical days at Springfield Park.Great memories.

Yet ,there are people out there who don’t want the Spanish to take over.Which would leave us back to square one and it would take months for the EFL to approve any alternative bidder ( if there are any ).We should be thanking our lucky stars this looks like going through next week.We can the get some players in and get existing players tied down on new contracts.

From what I’ve seen elsewhere, the takeover is going to be happening soon! 🤞🤞

Looks like things are finally starting to move ,fingers crossed. We all need to get behind the new owners and give them our full support.Opinion has been split over the last few months but we must remember the real villains in all this are our previous owners who left us completely in the s..t !Initially , I honestly thought we were dead and buried but ,hopefully ,now we will slowly start to see the green shoots of recovery.

We do Springy lad. But I feel they are dragging this out on purpose. Cristo has left the building. I’m presuming the EFL were satisfied originally with Moreno, so really have no idea what the hold up is now.

BTW, where were our senior pros last night?

It’s all gone mysteriously quiet on the takeover front. We need an answer from the EFL ,hopefully a yes ,then we can move on.As regards the senior pros ,it’s strange how they are all injured together.I just get the feeling they are counting the clock down waiting for January ,their agents have probably already lined up moves for them.

I think the young lads are playing at their absolute limit. With a couple of games within the space of a few days it has caught up with them. They seemed ‘leggy’ which is understandable. With most of our experienced players out injured we are desperate for reinforcements. At least we have not been cut adrift at the bottom. There is still hope ,but we need to act fast !

Not entirely an unexpected result tonight. These young lads put everything into the win over Accrington Stanley on Saturday and looked knackered tonight.Massive learning curve for them .We are short on numbers and need to get this takeover over the line so we can bring in some experience in January.

The whole thing stinks as you all say.

Paul Stanley stated on twitter that he would lift exclusivity if the spanish failed but then has let them carry on after failing.

There are clearly bidders out there (another lie) but we don’t know their worth. They can’t be any worse than someone failing O&Ds though. Frampton sounds like a fantasist but so did DW when he said PL in 10 years and from a City point of view that Stanley should understand…so did Mansour. Based on his comments he wouldn’t have sold City to him.

Out the frying pan into the fire here.

The big difference between Frampton and Whelan is that Whelan had a personal fortune of £300 million.Frampton would be relying on funds being sent from the Far East.Does that not set the alarm bells ringing ? It certainly does with me .
