It depends on how quickly whelan & the fans for that matter expect to get back into the premier league – assuming of course, we do get back as we might never get back again, or, languish in this division for a few seasons. Clubs who are a lot bigger than ourselves ie forest, middlesborough, leeds to name but a few have been in the championship a while now & we could soon be amongst that group.
so we may just have to get used to that fact. We are wigan. We run a tight budget, do not have the biggest of fanbases & even at championship level, punch above our weight. Why cant we just go back to enjoying the ride like we did a few seasons back.

I might be wrong but im sure they were boos i heard on MOTD2.
Good bit of business & the fact we have kept maloney, macca & ramis is brilliant. If we are in the top 3 – 4 at xmas i reckon we can manage to keep hold of these 3 & strive for our promotion push
If Leicester were to get a point tomorrow then ‘Bottom Four Bob’ will be a reality.
How Long: 1 year 6 days
HORC; top tipster, did you put a monkey or pony on today’s result at Ladbrokes ?[/quote]
If you deduct the mid season break its actually 10 months to achieve that particular target.
Heard that crystal palace have offered £7 million for him. Another championship bound club.
3 year deal according to wish fm
we could spend money we dont have, but then end up in the manure a la newcastle, leeds.
or we could buy premier league 30+ journeymen who have no interest/give a sh1t about the club, a la holt
or we could spend millions on players a la fulham, & get tonked every week.I say give these players a chance. They will be hungry & want to prove themselves at a higher level. We are where we are & can only afford these kind of players now im afraid.
The lad wants to go, but why to leicester (or burnley for that matter). Chances are he’ll end up back in the championship next season.
Transferrumouritis. Quite contagious apparently.
I think my first ever away game was the FA cup match against northwich victoria in 1978 (my first season as well watching latics) with that infamous incident involving the policeman with the dart in his face. As a small 6 year old i couldn’t see the incident – just had to rely on the information from one of my dads mates.
I can see now why we’re letting the likes of McArthur and Ramis go and bringing in these proven players like Delort and ForshawOr, are we bringing in young hungry players who want to prove themselves at a higher level.
Some may be picking matches or are unable to buy a season ticket like me through shift pattens mean’s I will attend only five home matches before Christmas maybe only 13 out of 23 home gamesSame here 35, ive made the first 2 home games then thats it for me until november, unless i can borrow a ST of family members when they cant go.
Wigan have told sky sports that mcarthur is not for sale
According to reports we have turned down £5 million bid from leicester.
