Usual suspects in meltdown mode again.
Well are every club gona get charge with pitch invasion. If it’s just a pitch invasion without incident then probably not.
It wasn’t just a pitch invasion though, was it. All the after match analysis centred on that Aguero incident and the confrontation with the City fans which detracted from the fantastic performance and result. And many of those old enough to have known better were only there for that one game. Supporters my arse!
If you watch England religously then I would imagine you would still go. Hope to keep your head down and stay safe. Big risk though but so is any Euro away with England these days as we have a massive target on our backs.
I’m in Russia 29th June to 16th July.
Won’t make any of the England games, but providing they’re through to the knockout stages, I’ll be watching from the John Bull, Moscow – albeit quietly.
Удачи
Essentially the rugby club was bankrupt and had to sell their ground without any firm plans on where to go.
I’ve posted an article on here a number of times that gives an insight into the events surrounding the selling of Central Park and Whelan’s involvement. Even though this article was initially posted on a rugby forum (I assume by a rugby person), many of the facts are ignored or dismissed (again I assume this to be correct since I haven’t seen or heard any contradictions) by those who cannot accept the fact that Whelan had to step in to ensure the club had a stadium to play in.
There is nobody more stubborn than those in denial. They cannot bring themselves to accept their club had lived well beyond it’s means and had to be saved by a man who already owned a football club and was building a brand-new stadium for them with a plan to reach the uppermost echelons of the football ladder.
Had this not been the case Whelan would now be revered by the rugby fraternity and Wigan Athletic could have remained that “smashing little club” to be patronised and allowed to go out of existence without any remorse, which at the time was a distinct possibility.
Yes you are.
You might be stating a fact but not comparing like for like. Perhaps there’s no thread because no one has been seen at a rugby match paraded a Latics shirt with a provocative message. And who’s mentioned anything about wiping their arse on rugby hats?As I said nobody would have bothered about two kids wearing woolly rugby hats at a Latics away game because it was cold.
I know i’m not comparing like for like. One is a rugby team and one is a football team. Warriors’ rivals are St Helens – Always have been, always will be. I’ve not seen anywhere that a provocative message was on this shirt until you brought it up as a retort to justify any ill feeling. Personally I wouldn’t give two shits what someone wore if they were at a game supporting the same team as me.
So mutt would you wear a barcodes shirt for any reason marrer?.If it were for Macmillan and the donations were high enough I’d put one on!
The like for like is kids wearing a Latics woolly hat versus a fella with a rugby shirt on carrying a provocative message.
And we are not your rivals so no need explain that.
And there was no ill feeling because no one took offence.
I’m not. I’m just stating a fact. You wont find a dedicated thread on it on the rugby forums where old men would talk about burning them or wiping their arse on the hats if they had seen it either. It was cold. They wore blue hats with a latics badge on. Nobody bothered.

There were a couple of kids sat near to me at the Widnes game wearing Latics woolly hats.It didn’t bother me, nor did it appear to bother anyone else.
I don’t believe two kids wearing woolly rugby hats at the game on Saturday would have bothered anybody either. The person in question wasn’t a kid. Whatever his motive it was provocative and designed to cause a reaction, which it did. I don’t know how he managed to relinquish his shirt but it ended up being thrown around in amusement. All very light hearted so no need to take the moral high ground by attempting to suggest the rugby lot would have remained indifferent under similar circumstances.
When the said shirt was being thrown around had it been removed willingly by the wearer or had it been forcibly removed?
Footballing wise we were poor today. Surrendered lots of possession and played hoof-ball. That being said it worked and was no doubt the best option on a poor surface. So credit to Cook’s plan B when playing on bad pitches.
You could easily have a situation this season where ourselves, Blackburn and Shrewsbury finish with a points total in the mid to high nineties. Not to become champions let alone get automatic promotion with so many points is unprecedented and would be a massive disappointment for whoever loses out.
It should be remembered that two seasons ago under Caldwell we won the league with 87 points.Even though it’s in our hands our task has been made ever the more difficult because of the performances of the other two other teams. So, let’s not become too critical when results don’t go our way and we all get a bout of squeaky bum. This could very well be decided on the last day of the season.
It’s hard to believe no one in the organisation realised the connection that would be made to Hillsborough.
But as the saying goes, there’s no such thing as bad publicity.
I believe Peugeot has a copyright on the use of zero in the middle of their car model numbers.
Southampton could very well go all the way and win the thing
…. and get relegated.
Whilst there is still some way to go in securing that automatic promotion spot the win on Wednesday has taken all the pressure off us for the game on Sunday.
