I don’t recall anyone complaining at the time about the signing of Holt. However, I’m sure no one was aware he joined us on a reputedly £28k per week three year deal and was already 32 years old which, even if he’d turned out to be any good, would still have raised a few eyebrows.

The problem I had with Coyle was an admittedly illogical gut feeling that he and Wigan Athletic were a complete mismatch and should never have been paired together even though I was willing to give the man a chance to prove me wrong. It turned out he didn’t.

i wouldn’t trust him as far as i could throw him but still like the guy

Bloody hell bicky, I wouldn’t like to be the person on the receiving end of someone you didn’t like.

Some of you lot wouldn’t recognise a good football player if your life depended on it.

So what few years of medical treatment would that be JR, seeing as he only joined the club at the start of the 2012/13 season? And I suppose it was very remiss of him to damage his cruciate ligament playing for Wigan Athletic and then expect the club to pay for his recovery. That then makes him much less a prolific starter than the sick note known as Rogne?

A class player who I am sorry to see leave, if in fact he has left, and so bad he’s attracting the interest of at least two Premiership clubs. If he and Alcaraz, or just one of them, had stayed fit last season we would not have been relegated.

Not one of RMs better buys my arse.

2 EPL clubs … Palace, Cardiff ….precisely ! (one or other / both Championship again next season). Palace first 11 (practically) put to bed yesterday.

Whereas McCarthy, Kone, Robles, Valencia etc. go top 6-8 team. Even Diame went to a club with a little more expectation of avoiding the annual relegation scrap

If he’s so feckin good, then …. (explain please)

Even West Spam – the only team he ever turned up against / and short on defenders appear to show no interest …

PS

Picture in the paper (internet) had me p@ssing myself yesterday – quote ‘Ramis getting stuck in’ .. it was actually, the photo capturing Ramis ill-timed tackle on Hazard in first EPL game, resulting in penalty (7 minutes played: Latics 0 (Ramis -2) Chelsea 2 ..

As someone recently said ‘lazy journalism …’
Some of you lot wouldn’t recognise a good football player if your life depended on it. Thank you for the confirmation.

Interestingly McEachran’s girlfriend is Sophie Webster off Corrie. This continues our Corrie connection after Scot Sinclair who was seeing Rosie Webster and of course Owen Coyle who is married to the actress who played Hayley Cropper.

Which is nice.

Apparently, Julie Hesmondhalgh is representing Great Britain at table tennis at the next Olympics.
McEachran has found it hard to get first team experience at Chelsea – as Powell has at United.

He was on the bench and came on to play at Bolton just three years ago;
Monday, 24 January 2011 Barclays Premier League Bolton 0-4 Chelsea.

He should complement Powell, playing behind him.

You really need to get out more!

Even I [“probably one of the so called herberts / retards”] got 50% right when posting that the young united player on loan had cleared his locker and said his goodbyes.

Which, by mentioning it again, shows it irks you that it wasn’t 100% correct. :cheer:

But it certainly looks that way, now that we see what wreckage Coyle has left in his wake.

It is a simple story of overrated players, being signed for excessive fees, paid excessive wages and released for next to nothing.

Ian Herbert: Bolton Wanderers decline reveals it doesn’t take overseas proprietors to damage a club
The Independent Tuesday 07 January 2014

I think that several of us expressed concern that Coyle was signing the 32 year old on a three year contract.

and on 20-odd grand a week.

We are by far a better team with Powell in it. Yesterday he seemed to be popping up everywhere, it looked like there were 5 Nick Powells on the pitch. I have not seen a bead of sweat on him yet and his miles per match must be the highest in all four divisions.
Plays with a smile and a swagger, just like all the great footballers do.

Lazy?……no way, this lad will be the next big thing at OT. God knows what he’ll be like in 2-3 years time.

We do need him and he has been vital in some of the games this season. Not sure i agree with your comment above, the lad just can’t shoot straight!
IMO – no way he is good enough for the MUFC team.
He won’t look out of place then.
