You can’t really blame the changes because we were dominant and I’m not sure the players rested would have all scored goals. The ones who may have were all brought on.
It just turns out we can’t break sides down and don’t test the goalie enough.
Mutty is spot on, at The DW neither side has attracted big crowds for cup games or playoff games. My personal opinion on why is because Wiganers are tighter than a submarine door and won’t pay for games outside their ST especially if it’s on TV.
Mutty is also incorrect in that yes many moons ago Latics got big crowds as did Wigan rugby.
Now move on and grow up. Neither side has as many fans as it should but who really gives one.
We didn’t need an open top bus, we had the players celebrating in the pubs with the fans.
As for the JPT, gutted but said at the time that I’d take 3 points above that win as would the club.
Aim was promotion as Champions and we nailed it.

You don’t need to tell me that GL, just seems to have been the response from clubs everytime we have stuffed them.
Fully agree, which is why this stage of an egg season is dreadful to watch as teams just aren’t fussed.
What sort of a sport uses playoffs to decide anything major
As someone said and as I always say regards the eggs…..you know the score at the start of the season.
If we finish 6th next year and win the playoffs will we be saying we don’t deserve to go up and offer it to 3rd??? Will we balls!
After the massive turnover in staff and a recruitment drive starting from scratch with a huge cut back in the overall wage bill this reward HAS justifiably been given to GC.
We actually won the league too which under the circumstances mentioned above this demonstrates what an amazing achievement this as been.We had more money, parachute payments blah blah blah.
Win sat Burton Walsall lose champions Saturday on goal differenceI can’t see Burton losing at Colchester but I couldn’t see us losing at Donny.

If Walsall hadn’t got that alleged phantom goal last Saturday we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
My prediction

Walsall 82 pointsrest assured the lads will be up for this one tonight and having watched Burton a few times I just can’t see them being able to deal with our attacking threat if we are on it tonight.
Don’t forget Walsall have to make up 3 points plus the extra advantage earned through goal difference so no time to panic just yet.They 6 behind aren’t they? Game in hand yes but you still have to win it.
I think we’ll get a win tonight and Saturday which should hopefully be enough but if not then I can see us taking Blackpool apart.
