My rugby viewing record in recent seasons
Season – Matches played Missed Watched on TV – Reason
2013 – 35 1 1 – France, couldn’t afford
2012 – 33 4 1 – Featherstone away, working
2011 – 36 2 1 – In-laws birthday
2010 – 34 2 1 – Hull away, working
2009 – 34 1 0Exception to the rule there clearly :)
Certinaly gives Hendry Thomas a run for his money. He was never 24 when he first played for us.
aye but it now gives them armchair and pub fans the opportuntity to spend there giro in the pub and not the ground again
Not sure that is so much of an issue with us as it is with other football clubs and, partcularly, the rugby. I get the impression that most people who want to watch Wigan Athletic actually go to the games, regardless of kick-off time.
Might be wrong, but it’s quite unusual ;)
You really are ruining this board Griff
And brief mention too of work that Latics do in the Community – going out into schools and community groups. The aim is that every kid’s first contact with football is with someone wearing a Latics badge. We want every kid to have Latics as their number 1 team.
Fully agree with this part. The only way we will stop kids from jumping on the Manchester clubs/Scousers or even Chelsea and Arsenal bandwagons is to give them a connection to WAFC. The South Stand is the future of the club and the stand I would rather be full week in week out then any other.
Swansea are the only team we have failed to beat in the Premier League.
Ahem…..Fulham ! ;)
B)
So all those who are crying out for a settled side, exactly what is our best XI?
Bristol City are on board
Swansea are the only team we have failed to beat in the Premier League.
“There were a lot of positives, especially considering the weather conditions, but unfortunately we didn’t convert our chances.
“At the moment we probably need more chances to score than other teams do and Huddersfield was a good example of that.”
Been a problem of ours for quite a while that
Agree with those totally.
Philip Schofield is the big one for me. Can’t stand the guy. Not having that anyone is THAT perfect.
Harsh, maybe? Can take him or leave him, to be honest
He’s on TV more often than the news
I can’t be doing with Ant & Dec and their laughing cameramen who get paid to laugh at their shite jokes ! As funny as a dose of VD !Yep they’re another two. I think they should have a series of ‘I’m a celebrity’ where they drop Ant and Dec into the jungle and then f*cking leave them there.
I thought Coyle would be a good appointment and was more than happy with most of his signings.
I said several times in match previews that I thought he was handling the number of games well with his changes but I think it got to a point where he was making changes for the sake of it as opposed to for the good of the team. There was no continuity other than Barnett and Carson and it was tough for players to form partnerships and understandings.
Then you start to hear the tales from the training ground of Irn-Bru and ping pong and you start to wonder, especially when we were quite clearly so unfit.
Agree with those totally.

IIRC though, both of those were signed when we already had a number of ‘keepers on the books and were only ever played in the reserves or sat in the stands. Considering the wage that Nash was probably on I would deem it pointless.
