Exactly Lowey. Force majeure I believe it’s called, and as you say I doubt sky would want to lose the PL coverage they have.
IMO you can’t play games at neutral venues. It isn’t just the crowd that gives you an advantage at home, it’s everything involved in the preparation. Games have to be played at each sides home ground or they can’t be played at all. You can’t change the rules mid-season. Not only that, players that were injured are now no longer injured so the parameters have changed again. It is better for example to play Spurs with no Kane and Son but now you’re playing them with those two players fully fit and at a neutral ground.
I said at the start of all this, void it and pretend it never happened. I can’t see any European competition being played next year anyway with all the travel involved so no issues there. A few sides that may have been promoted will complain as will Liverpool but this is a situation where money and football are insignificant no matter how much some clubs/players think the world revolves around them.
I have to agree with them with regards to neutral venues
I’m surprised Sky had Leeds losing
The rent is a % of the matchday income so………
One of the upsides of being fat gravy-stained cuckoo lodgers with no assets is that 100% of the upkeep of the stadium that nobody can use for God knows how long is the responsibility of the landlord.
Hope those Royal boys have deep pockets….[/quote]
I expect that the rugby will put money to where needed as they did when Latics first hit League One and the pitch was a mess.
Coming from Chorley it could be anything
The rent is a % of the matchday income so………
Clearly a rugby town. We put the word Wigan on the map in places like Spain Honduras and Egypt.
I’d have had money on Mrs T before you pal ;)
You’re right,but it won’t stop them trying.
Far too much money in Euro comps to cancel them. The Carabao and FA are the most likely to be binned.
Haven’t we just beaten the top two?
Football is unpredictable so you can’t base it on ifs and maybes. So base it on what has actually happened. X amount of points from X amount of games.
I agree though we can’t keep it open forever
Well I doubt they can afford to pay anybody next season either so they’ll be gone.
The clubs will vote on it and it will pass. Relegated sides can complain all they want but they will be out voted I think
Why would Bury have to be reinstated?
Vince is right in that they should first and foremost help the people at the club who are struggling. That way the clubs save money but nobody loses their job. If they wish to help elsewhere then they can do (and have) https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52219771
They are quite right that they have been unfairly targeted. Nobody has criticised the likes of soap stars, musicians, other sportsmen or other rich people like GG says. You’ve got the likes of Piers Morgan sitting there slagging off footballers, how much of his wealth has he given up?
Footballers wages are obscene but so are many others throughout the world and plenty of footballers will already either have a charity of their own or will give to causes that they never get the recognition for because we love to have a go at them based on their wage. The simple fact is, if we didn’t watch them they wouldn’t get paid half as much.
