His goal against arsenal and the obvious West Ham brace will
Live long and hard in the memory especially when faced with some of the dross on show at the moment .Leeds average about 20k home supporters so they are one of the better supported teams in the efl so gate receipts won’t be a problem or will they?
I also don’t see many big names in that squad so again the wage bill will hardly be a crippling one surely ?
I have a simple policy with away games if the price is above 25 quid I won’t go end of as I don’t think the standard of football is worth it.
Football isn’t like a concert it the theatre you are not guaranteed entertainment and also always annoys me when they try to charge similar prices.
Don’t go and hopefully young dave and jj will return the favour to them next May with similar prices .A night out in manchester would cost more than one of our season tickets.
As for the lump sum bit haven’t we invented something called a credit card now ?Me and my lad have started calling the queue at the east stand for overpriced tickets the “thick queue ”
How else could you explain somebody dense enough not to take advantage of £199 for 23 games but stupid enough to pay almost £30 for one game when they could get in for 4 games for the same price?
You most certainly do not need to be in the higher income bracket to take advantage of such a good deal but people, with go into bling st (sorry. King st) and waste that amount on copious amounts of drink and other substances once a month then moan about football ticket prices.
I paid 179 quid for 23 games and I just cannot understand the mentality of the numbskulls who pay the ridiculous on the day prices .
it isn’t for the wealthy it is for the committed and those that choose to buy a season ticket will find the cost much lower than tossers who attend games when the club is on a winning run etc.I didn’t expect much today but at least we didn’t get battered and we have an appalling opening day record.
The second goal was very fortunate Not that disheartened. The Latics away support never ceases to amaze me Ian’s what a brilliant loyal bunch we have.
The eggs poor support never ceases to amaze me either given that we live in this mythic ‘rugby town ‘ where everyone in sight wears cherry and white allegedly.
Whatever the reasons its very clear that we now have firmly become a football town and the rugby has lost a generation of supporters after the games shift to summer back in 1995.I’d have thought the club would be swamped with requests for season tickets at the ridiculous rice being charged.
Can’t understand fair weather fans and their ridiculous mentality .blunder land have been moAning that players are twice the price now because of the new tv deal.
Gauging the fact that he has two years on his contract to go and hasn’t cut it at this level yet.
Grigg by all accounts is a really sound bloke and is not a big time charlie despite his rapid rise to fame recently.
I reckon based on the inflated market , contract left and his hit rate last year he is worth at least 10 million .
I can’t see any club paying that and the risk
Of him not doing it at championahip level means he probably will stay.
Might have a battle in January next year if he bags the goals .
Rangers haven’t a hope in hell as that league is awful and it would be like going back league 1 in
My opinion .The prices are about right in my view.
good showcase games to sell the Latics season tickets and a sign of the positive changes brought in by the new management.
Loads of local kids will want to come and watch the big clubs but might get hooked on Latics in the process and its far better than turgid aways at the likes of Southport and Rochdale .
A sign that we have returned to the big time but a big European club would have been fantastic say Juventus or AC Milan and I’m certain clubs like this tour the UK in summer.
Very positive moves by this dynamic management team at Latics and what a change from the doom and gloom of last summer.
Onwards and upwardsPut a media blackout of any news stories and watch the interest bomb from the head bangers who
Latch on to this club.
Ban all social media footage and completely ban the news stories and watch the interest wane.
Points deductions would also mean the genuine supporters might start to stand up against this pond life effectively ending their inadequate activities.Mid table mediocrity with beatings for toon and vile and a nice cup run will do nicely.
Some good points Nuneaton latic and I am a traditionalist also but that was all chucked out of the window 24 years ago when that dreadful greed league was created.
I’m always saddened when traditional clubs leave the football league pyramid and it almost like they become forgotten on the national media which is wrong.
Bringing them into an enlarged football league will generate more interest in the media, create more media opportunities and increase away support generating much needed revenue for cash strapped clubs.
Whether we like it or not football is a business and the game cannot stand still especially if your like Latics and surrounded by four of the biggest clubs in the country.
Change is inevitable to protect the leaguesAlways been against the policy that throws out big football league clubs into the wilderness of non league.
We as a club were elected based on size and fan base etc however we have had big clubs like Stockport and tranmere chucked out in favour of micro clubs like fleetwood and Crawley .
No disrespect to these clubs but it is a lot harder to gain promotion from the non league now than it ever was but to lose vital revenue from away support when clubs this size lost their status wAs something I never understood.
Reshape the league to four divisions of 26 and I agree regionalisation would be a good thing in theory.
I am in favour as we need to protect and enhance our grass roots footballPrudent team strengthening needed
Goalkeeper, centre half , full back and striker and I think a solid mid table finish can be achieved.
Anything more is just dreaming !!Saved the worst performance till the final game but when 4000 Jonny come latelys have turned up will hardly help the season ticket sales!!!
Only joking they deserve all the plaudit s and quite simply this is one of the best seasons I can ever remember and I startedwatching the tics in 1979 .
From start to finish these lads have been a credit and there attitude and hard work deserves massive praise.
I have to say I had a fairly large lump in the throat As they walked around with the cup At the end because this promotion feels so special and I have never been that emotional until today!
Well done to the new team at the club , a new start , a new direction and a feeling that the real Latics is back !!!! -
