You know what im really enjoying it in this league winning regularly. Not since PJ,s tenure do we now expect to win games. In the Prem you hope to win but don’t and become miserable. Uwe has brought the feel good factor back and you can bet that the teams who still have to play us will be more than apprehensive. Im not even sure I will be too upset if we don’t make it. Winning in the Championship is a much better feeling than losing in the Prem. Just off for my tin hat.

      In Uwe we trust ;)

Great post and my sentiments exactly but I think fate will take a hand and I have a feeling that we are going back up whether we like it or not.
just a very strong feeling I have had since he took charge and I can see us getting better and better – the Latics are on the march!

Starting to look like the team we thought they could be last august and even more satisfying to beat the media darlings in waiting that are Brighton.
The lack of media focus means uwe and his team can quietly come up on the rails and get into the play offs if the current form continues.
Big test next Saturday however forest have injuries and are having a wobble so I reckon we will get another result there -March is a massive month for us !

Can’t recall his hair colour but it was after the 3rd flare was let off so assume it must have been related to that.

All i do know is that there was some bloke behind me who lost it, screaming and swearing, kicking the chair, busting a blood vessel all in the direction of the stewards. All very adult like behaviour!

What I can’t understand, if he was so upset, why didn’t he just go down and join in? I’d say he was a coward and bully but he was bigger than me so I won’t say that.

Not a very edifing image from a grown man (late 20’s early 30’s).

          get a bloody life.

I agree but not as bad as that bald grandad type trying to get at the Sheffield United supporters from the forest end on Sunday he looked at least 60???

I agree we did seem to switch off a bit and a better team would have got back into the game given the second half performance however would we have played with such laxity against a better team ? I think not.
let’s not forget that watsons injury may have affected one or two of them and it will be a big loss without him going into the tough games coming up so let’s hope it’s not too serious.
On a more positive note we never needed to up the gears this evening and the big battles are coming up but what an impressive points tally since uwe took over 24 points from 12 games is promotion form – the plays offs seem a much more realistic than they have done all season tonight!

“As FA Cup holders, Wigan are certainly showing plenty of resilience in the defence of the trophy. Wigan manager Uwe Rosler got it right tactically and his players have put the work in. A fantastic performance from the holders.”

Rosler ihas quietly got the team going and it would seem we are now seeing the results of his work- 6th round of the cup and handily placed in the championship.
this incredible season is starting to get very exciting now!
Not too bothered whether the media talks about the club or not and I’m sure our manager isn’t but we could easily be on our way to wembley if the draw is kind.
Let’s hope for a home draw tomorrow but i suspect uwe is now focusing on beating Barnsley on Tuesday night- great time to be a Latics supporter!

My dad used to say he was the best he had ever seen and many others lucky enough to have seen him play have said the same .
The late Bill Shankly used to present a show on one of the merseyside radio stations in the 70s and the producer would quietly tell guests not to mention Finney as Bill would not stop talking about his ‘idol such was his awe of him.
incredible that he only received £14 a week for his unbelievable skills and had to do plumbing to top up his income- incredible and a travesty when you consider some of the absolute wasters who play the game today!
                rest in peace

Since the birth of the champions league we have seen teams look with disdain at this competion that used to have some kudos 30 odd years back but the champions league has ruined European football in my opinion.
Three competions with more or less equal prestige and a straightforward knockout over two legs gave the games more meaning than the ridiculous TV mini league s we see in the competions now.
It isn’t going to happen in the champions league but maybe they could reshape the UEFA cup and seed it so smaller clubs get a guarantee of a big tie in the early rounds.
I used to the like the old format with the old cup winners cup and it’s a shame football is being ruined for the supporters to preserve the wealth of so few .
Pardew needs to remember that but he has fans who are dense enough to keep chucking the money at a lost cause and his attitude stinks given the home support they get and the money they generate.
How long before the gates start to fall when you hear attitudes like this from supposed big clubs?

seem to remember Jewell tinkering a bit in his first season here in 2001-2002 and look we’re he took the club and yes he got slaughtered at the time.
Uwe is sorting out a mess and with the fans on his side surely is a good thing and one that will give in the valuable time to sort the team out.I don’t think we should judge him critically just yet and look at how he has turned the form round since he joined!
He will get it right in my view but like any club in transition Lethe results will be mixed until he builds his own team and stamps his style and authority on it.
A bit too early to criticise just yet!

Can’t believe I’m already reading anti uwe posts after he has had only 2 defeats in 14 games – he is the right man for a very difficult job ( trying to please fickle bar stewards ) and the season is still very much alive.

Yes all good points but who appointed him and sanctioned the move for a has been like Holt?
The Europa league was a gutter and I agree we could easily have been looking forward to a plum tie this month and we should be in the play positions at least given the squad he had.

Probably spouted this on here before but it pisses me off when man utd fans who have lived in Salford all their lives ask why I support Wigan when I am not from Wigan.

Without going into my choice of team the town of Wigan has a population of approx 82K of which a large percentage of fans turn out to see their local team week in week out.

Salford has a population of 240K!! If the same percentage of fans from Salford supported their local team instead of riding the glory boat across the river irwell you would have 40K people turning out to see Salford City FC every week instead of 500.

If Salfordians call Wigan a rugby town then that makes Salford a rugby city ten times over.

Try getting that argument over to thickos who used to go on about our crowds when we were in the premier league and neglected the excellent point you make.

I remember going in the John Bull chophouse before an Everton game a couple of years back and it was packed full of Wigan people I know wearing Everton colours !
If one things winds me up more than anything else is that “rugby town” myth copyright Talkcr@p that is trawled out regularly by thick pundits and rival fans alike !
Beckham in my view was a good player but not a great one (Shaun Maloney was better at free kicks and crosses IMO) and he used the hype and publicity machine his missus set up to elevate himself up to superstar status which these days makes me cringe.
Scholes and Giggs are the great players of his generation -Ferguson didn’t let either of them go did he?

Had a long chat with Kevin Nicholls once in that barbers shop on frog lane while we were both waiting and he seemed a really sound bloke to me . it’s a bit unfair to call him a pointless signing though given that he went on to have a fairly decent career at Luton town and he did have some bad injuries.
I remember him kicking somebody 5 feet into the air then walking away the picture of innocence before the ref collared him,one of the funniest things I have seen at football.
