Only on the score, the 10 man back far wasn’t far from accurate.

I thought the wolves goalie had the longest and most acurate kick i’ve ever seen from a keeper.

That’s exactly what me and hubby said last night, he nearly kicked it in our box. And the previous posters assesment on Kirky (much as I luv the fella) was spot on.

in reply to: Kirkland #5653
Has this mon forgot how to kick a ball?

Yeah even Kirky kicked it inot the crowd a few times if I recall. IMHO he has never been that good a kicker, it nearly always comes down with Ozone on it.

Piemon,I absolutley agree with your thoughts and sentiments.

Scott Sinclair only a 4 he nearly scored at the end of the match. He was very quickon the ball. I also thought ZOg deserves more thought he played better than most on the team.

VAt
I agree and disagree.
I am a newish season ticket holder because of raising a family couldn;t say to my hubby oh you mind the kids while I go footy. I know many men do this but hey ‘I know my place’…lol. BUt I did used to go to Springy and catch the last 10 mins when it was free as a kid as we couldn;t afford to pay to watch them. So yeah I am a newbie but always followed the success of Latics. But let me make this clear I too am disgusted that many fans booed, in fact they are not fans just people with nowt better to do IMHO. I went mad at my husband for not singing last night saying when your 60 you can keep quiet, the lads need us now.
Read my post on fans on the Roberto thread.

I think some people don’t understand the term FAN. FAN = Fanatic. I’ll give you an example, if you are a Beatles fan (I am not just an example here) and they sing a duff note in concert do you boo them off….Noooooo. A fan sticks through/by whoever or whatever they are fanatical about. I think the ones who boo the team are just supporters.
You have to realise how that kind of/lack of support affect morale and the teams heads. If they have a night were things aren’t going right the last thing they need is boo’s. IT DOES NOT matter how much they get paid yadda yadda yadda as that is the commercial price of football today. A bit like the way property prices went mad (it’s the market not the players fault) anyways supporters have RUINED footballers careers as some of them are not mentally strong enough to block it out, no matter how good they are at kicking a ball.

Anyway I’ll get off me soap box now.

SO please don’t tarr all newish season ticket holders with the same brush. I also have sworn if they go down, I will still watch them every home match come hell or high water.

Yeah, what he said too.

in reply to: Sacked By christmas? #5525

The way everyone is going on anyone would think we lost 12-0.
Jesus I bet Everton fans were more behind Moyles than Wigan fans behine Roberto. Changing managers as many times as Dr Who does no-one favours. After 2 matches………Norwich were VERY harsh. Alex F was nearly sacked 20 years ago they gave him one chance and his team got it together and look where they are now. Stabiltiy works in the prem look at Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea, (they were all voer the place when they had managers in and out like the hokey cokey).

And pray where would the club be without him. Still shaking cans outside pubs to pay players wages no doubt.

in reply to: FAO ROBERTO MARTINEZ #5517

Yes he was in charge of Swansea when they played Wolves, so that makes tonights rubbish even worse as he should have known how Wolves play. Obviously he has very little experience in knowing how to manage a premier league club. I have my doubts about his suitability as manager. Whelan was spouting about him on Sky Sports over the weekend saying that he will be one of the top four managers in the country. Well not on tonigts performance. Whelan its time you kept your gob shut!

You are completely overreacting. We have lost one game for Christ’s sake. Against a decent side that scored from a set piece early on and then put ten men behind the ball.

Let’s not forget that we are WIGAN. How can losing a Premiership game against Wolves cause so much outrage? We’re by no means the finished article yet.
I have got more Wigan Athletic blood in me and more passion for the Latics than Whelan and many others who write on this message board so why should I tolerate such a poor performance. I use hard earned money to support my team and I deserve better than that. If I was as bad as that team tonight then I would be unemployed.
With employment law you would have had a verbal warning first.

That is just yellow water poor. A lovely evening watching our beloved team, why can’t people be bothered. It was disheartening to see so many empty seats.

With hindsight ya cant blame em can ya ! If I knew what I know now I would have stopped at home an I have a season ticket ! That woz WRLFC tonight no atmosphere WRLFC footy a total waste of my time an £15.65 pro rata money ! Bob needs to drop certain non triers an put his foot down and nip this WRLFC in the bud ! If he is a good manager we will see some changes come Sat !
Hindsite is a wonderful thing though. I didn’t go Villa but wish I did!!!

The question is what is Martinez going to do about it, that is if he can do anything about it. Is he out of his depth in the Premier League. I am worried about whether he is the right man for the job.

Jesus Wept give the bloke a god damn chance. Alex Ferguson nearly got the boot at Man U early on and they decided to give him one more and then his team got it together and started winning. YOU CANNOT BUILD A TEAM IN 5 MINUTES. If you keep changing managers more than Dr Who the players will get hacked off with different systems all the time. Just calm down dear it’s only a commercial. No really it’s one win one losse But we need to learn from the mistakes and correct them if we do and do it quickly then hey all good. But come on it’s only our 2nd game in.

in reply to: FAO ROBERTO MARTINEZ #5500

Didn’t he play against Wolves with Swansea only last season??
