The cycling this tea time was hair prickle on the back of the neck stuff…….well was for me anyway …
Agreed, brilliant !
Is it me or have West Ham put a bid in for everyone this summer? They are now trying to hijack a Bolton deal for some Costa Rican.
Does anyone really want to go to a club run by Spivs and managed by Fat Sam?
Diame obviously did (£9k – on very good authority – to £50k per week) :(
Chelsea are preparing a final £7.5 million offerSo much for the new deal then … ??
Our glorified, overpaid, egotistical, male role models (not)… Terry, Ferdinand, Giggs etc. could well do with taking a look at the women – excellent 1-0 win over Brazil at Wembley last night – part-timers to boot!
England FC (golden era – Becks, Owen, etc.) – perennial under-achievers who still have learnt how to pass the ball, keep possession ..(worst yet last month in the Euros).
Off to Coventry to watch the women, Friday…
Who cares what other teams do or don’t do in the transfer Market. I moaned about our transfers for the last two seasons, and wanted Martinez out and said wheelnut was tight etc etc. I learned a lesson in being proved wrong. There are far worse and far more worrying things in this world. Let’s be thankful our own town (not by any means a city), and the club we grew up with have had seven years of unbelievable success. If any of you have a kid who is not quite as good as the other kids at football, you don’t love your own kid any less and try to swap him for a better kid. Life shows you that you stick with what you have, what’s yours, and you enjoy every minute and each and every success no matter how small, and share the darker days knowing things will get better.
I would not have written a post like this a season back. Good luck to anyone who plays for us, forget those who don’t. We love the shirt not the players in it after all.
Roll on Chelsea!

Late Martinez intervention steals £4m Ramis from West Ham’s clutchesGood spot ! Let’s hope so – assuming the lad’s good !
Nice to put one over the Londoners !!!!!!!!!!! (make that a double whammy IF / when WE GET £10m for Moses). MUST BE REPLACED (Crusat
)1-1 draw versus Hoffenheim last night and Mauro on target again.let’s wait for the real thing to start …
At least he has apologised and it may humble him playing with lads who probably dont earn in 2 years what he gets in a week.He is getting old(for a footballer) and he needs to remember that his remaining 3 years may well be his last big contract.
The game is changing and is starting to shed its aged 29 plus players with few clubs willing to pay big wages over 3 or 4 years.
A turn for the better if you ask me.Leopard n spots…give it time !
Hi Tyldsley thought you would be lurking around this debate somewhere B)
In reply to point 1 you must then think either Roberto is lying to trick people for whatever reason or he is that numb that he does not know his own tactics. What Roberto is doing with the front three is not a new thing Barcelone have been doing it for years but you dont hear people saying Villa & Messi etc. are wingers do ya…
In reply to point 3 Im not saying any of them are strikers I have and always will maintain they are 3 forwards ;)
Like Roberto has said n the past there is too much focus on what a 4-4-2 4-4-3 or whatever should look like/ should be. the tactics and positions of players is far more in depth than assigning them to a section of a 100 year old tactic and expecting them to do the same things as the thousands of players before them.
You have said yourself (might not have been you) Di Santo can receive the ball and drop back with Maloney and Moses advancing ahead of him and looking more like classic strikers?
I do realise where your point comes from though Tyldsley as when we have been poor or under pressure the outside forwards drift back into midfield.
I just think you are very strict with your idea of what a forward should be and do.
To be fair Salford, I have said in a few debates on this that the current system cannot be pigeon holed into any set formation as it is way too fluid – at times it can look like 5-4-1, at other times it can look like 3-4-3, at other times it can even look like 3-6-1.
I do pick holes coz essentially even if you consider Latics to play with 3 forwards, whoever plays that Di Santo/Sammon/Rodallega is asked to play as your more traditional “striker” the other 2 (whoever they may be) aren’t, so technically the Di Santo role is still the lone stiker – that’s my story & I’m sticking to it ;)
Also, whereas I’s always describe Di Santo’s role as a forward, the other 2 aren’t always forwards. They are not always a front 3, are not always asked to perform the role of forwards & so therefore aren’t forwards
I’ve said that Di Santo drops deep to get the ball & allow others to get ahead of him but that doesn’t make those players (& McArthur often gets forward a la Bolton away) look more like a striker than him
I don’t get how you can say in Bobby’s system that players don’t play traditional roles & in the same breath say that Moses & Maloney are forwards!! They’re not forwards & they’re not midfielders – to me they’re a bit of both so I wouldn’t class the system as 3-4-3. Likewise I wouldn’t class the wing backs as midfielders (or defenders for that matter), hence if I had to pigeon hole the system it wold be my 3-2-2-2-1 thing I mentioned before
4-4-2,3-4-3, 5-4-1,3-6-1,3-2-2-2-1 ….the list goes on.
Then again, there’s also 2-8-0 ! (forget the name of pundit (BBC, ITV?) who had Spain down for this in recent final against Italy ..
Think we’ll ever get there at WAFC under RM stewardship ??
According to the media, roque santa cruz wants to stay in the north west, this fella was unplayable a few years ago as we well know, does anyone else think we should take a punt on him ?Very good player in his prime (obviously rated by Mark Hughes), would fit in well with our South American contingent BUT likely to be expensive and was VERY injury-prone at City.
Funds better utilised elsewhere, me thinks
1. NZogbia
2. Ronaldo (when on song…), sub BeckhamWe only need 3. Rodallega and Diame have gone, Boselli will probably be off too. Thomas and Kirkland have also eloped and none of them played and also saved a truck load on wages. 3 decent technical players in a team that was performing to the highest standard to the back end of the season is ample enough. Let’s just hope he get’s his players in sooner rather than later. Think it is pretty much guaranteed it will be a Striker, Right back and centre back. If Moses goes then we will also be in the market for a winger. Crusat could be important this season, So im guessing either cover for him or an out and out right winger and using Crusat as the back up/impact wingerEdit – Ideally we should be looking to offload, Stam, Watson and Jones and blooding through Golobart, Nicholls, McManaman and Mustoe. I would send out Kiernan and Dicko out for 1 more season.
Daily mail – Derby rumoured to be interested in taking Conor Sammon on one year loan deal (YES PLEASE … !)
Was he just another Boselli?Worse.
Treated the ball like a hot potato (cf. English football team); Bosselli had a goal in him (ONE – Notts County !)
A proper result for me, no need to set off from down south at the crack of dawn on the Saturday to get back in time.
As for the schedule, the best team of the last 3 months of last season on once (1st game)then not on for a further 3 months at least. Meanwhile, 3 promoted clubs Reading are on 4 times, Southampton 3 and best of all………….Everyones darlings and masters of beautiful football…. West Ham on an eyecatching SEVEN times. :pinch:
Subscription cancelled. It absolutely stinks, who the fook wants to watch Wet Spam once??? It’s bordering on cruelty showing them 7 times with Big Sam and his football academy.
I bet he’s taken some pointers off Del Bosque for this season ;)
WHU – SEVEN times ??? FFS, what’s the world come to, absolute garbage !
I know of three, so make that 8.Already double figures – met Southport-based Dad and Lad at Blackburn AWAY game, looking for Premiership football in 2012 /13.
