I would love the World Cup to come to England, but to be fair the Ruskies haven’t had it before and their bid involves a lot of rebuilding. It sounds pretty exciting and there is a lot of football history there.
Obviously there is the usual stuff about grounds not being finished on time, mafia involvement and hooliganism, but we really need to get our own house in order before we start chucking stones. Brum/Villa fans were a great example the night before the bidding took place!
Obviously it is all about money, but the Premier League does itself no favours by going on about ours being the richest league in the world.
Qatar is a different story and really points to FIFA corruption at its worst. Surely the obvious choice would be the Aussies – look how far they have come in the last decade.
To blame the BBC for the fiasco is nonsense. We all know about FIFA and its backhanders. They make the Russian mafia look like the Women’s Institute.
I’m close to 50 now and I don’t think I’ll see another World Cup in England in my lifetime. Then again I never thought I’d see the Latics in the Prem – and that’s all I really care about.
No, I get it but I am saying that he is one too
And your user name rhymes with?
And people area lot happier when you are away
The only thing embarrassing is the fans who say they are embarrassed by the team.
Enfield at home was my first game and I have wintnessed many miserable performances since then – although I was drunk for most of the 80s.
Great tie. Noboby’s expecting us to win, even if they put the kids out they’ll be cocky so we’ve every chance of pulling off a shock.
I can understand people getting frustrated with the way we are playing, but I think it all came together for about 20 minutes last neet. That certainly didn’t look ugly to me!
When Bob came there were a lot of expectations about us playing fantasy football and it has disappointed people that we have not clicked.
Man City were solid in defence and midfield and have Tevez to take advantage of mistakes.
We don’t have their resources, but hopefully a couple more positive results will lead to us getting close to our potential.
You are right about people moaning when we win ugly, they are the same people who moaned about us winning under Bruce. Now they want him back!
We could stand or fall under Bob’s style of play and, despite the frustrations, I am willing to support him. If it works it could be happy days, but there has to be some pain
Positives
We won
We played with more heart that Saturday
The manager changed things and it worked
There’s plenty of time
We didn’t play very well against a team with an excellent defence and a lethal finisher.
We’ll be better tomorrow and on Saturday.
I’ll be there, supporting the Latics
All I have to say is Liam Ridgewell. Charley will feel at home with that sack of shiete
No Whelan hasn’t spent anything over the years has he?
Wake the f up

After last year’s game against Chelsea, I would drive back from Manchester very quickly.
I have no idea what the score will be on Saturday, because I believe we have the makings of a good team despite the Blackpool debacle

That was a bit petulant. I don’t need to go and support another team because I support this one.
I will never be ashamed to support Wigan Athletic. I am Wigan born and bred and I am proud to be associated with the team. I have supported them through some pretty bad times over the past 30 odd years. This is nothing to some of the bad times. We will get better and if we don’t I will still be there, proudly wearing my colours – never ashamed of them or of being a Wiganer.
YOU should be ashamed of yourself for posting such a ridiculous comment.
