Clive Allen BBC Radio 5 live
“As FA Cup holders, Wigan are certainly showing plenty of resilience in the defence of the trophy. Wigan manager Uwe Rosler got it right tactically and his players have put the work in. A fantastic performance from the holders.”
It’s out of our hands!

As for injured players Shaun is still a few weeks off getting back to training on grass, but he hopes he will get some games this season.
A great but modest man.
Cardiff City want Manchester United’s permission to play Zaha in Saturday’s FA Cup fifth-round tie.
I thought we discussed this and found loan players were ineligible under FA rules.
Fabio da Silva and Kenwyne Jones are both cup-tied.
In comparison to your volleyed return of the ball, i once punched the ball back on to the pitch from seat M224 in the west stand – no idea why, & it really f00kin hurt!! :blush:Serves you right – you should have headed it!

and up to 1 live replay from each of these rounds,

Hence all the difficult kick off times. I don’t know how they know that there will be a Quarter Final replay.
At least you could enjoy the bright lights of Gillingham.
What is there to do in Newcastle?
To be useful to travelling fans, a decision to postpone the match would have to be well in advance of kick off – early in the morning or better still the day before. Judging by last night’s decisions at Manchester City and Everton, that isn’t likely.
The Met Office issued a rare red warning of high winds in the North West from 1:30pm to 9:00pm posing a risk to life and threatening structural damage. It advised people not to make unnecessary journeys.
Both clubs – and the police, presumably – thought it was safe for fans to travel in these conditions. It was only around 7:00pm when things began flying around near the stadiums that the games were called off.
By then the home and away fans would have been arriving at the grounds. Announcements that the decisions were made for the safety of the fans ring rather hollow.
Thank you for your time and trouble.
Some interesting insights into the workings of Wigan, on and off the field.
I’d say it was a worthwhile exercise.
Another of the fantastic initiatives organised by fans for the benefit of fellow fans. We have a great community spirit.
I hope the weather improves.
Wigan have been behind in league matches since playing in the Community Shield. That seems an eternity ago.
They will slip further behind if they continue their cup run. But I still want a win at Cardiff.
Swansea have had some ups and downs. They may well have played against more, and probably beaten most of them too on their upward trips.
From The Guardian today;
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/feb/11/alan-pardew-europa-league-andre-villas-boas
Alan Pardew believes that Tottenham Hotspur’s involvement in the Europa League led to Andre Villas-Boas’s downfall at White Hart Lane, and that qualifying for the tournament can only prove detrimental to a club’s Premier League form.
“I don’t think that playing in the Premier League on the Sunday after the Thursday night in Europe you can get to the required level. I’ve been saying that ever since Stoke warned me about it when we went in it.”
