Guess it’s a masterstroke putting Powell on bench when he’s scored four goals in around 40 minutes last two games winning us six points. I mean we’ve been banging em in all season so why not start him on bench in a must win game? Still we are two down so maybe best putting him on now!
Given we are still four behind with a game more we need to go for it. Looking at fixtures of teams above I’m not convinced anything less than 10/12 will do in final games. What a balls up keeping Joyce for Blackburn and Bristol games.
Tell us about your time in the Falklands!
Finally I came off feeling entertained. We had a go and didn’t give up. The subs injected pace with Powell’s invention and like the look of Jack Byrne too with his energy and willingness to get on the ball. Bed these lads in for next season, keep Dan Burn and get Bogle flying pre season and we can smash Division One with a decent Manager.
Burnley investing 11 million in purpose built facilities whilst they have their time in the Prem. Meanwhile we fudged along at Christopher park talking about it then managed to get a knockdown price on Boltons old one.
After 8 years in the premier league it’s amazing that nobody had the nouse to invest some of the money spent on wages on the academy. That would have shown a level of ambition as a club and would have been a legacy of the time we spent up there. As CW says the fact United, City, Liverpool and Everton are on our doorstep must mean we had a good chance in being an attractive proposition as 5th choice and as we did with Callum Mac and Bainesy we could nurture the lads who got released. Would be nice to see a couple of lads a year getting a chance in the first team. Flores showed enough last season to be given game time this year. What’s the point in keep sending lads out on loan when our first team is shite?
In 17 home games we have only scored in 6 of them. Can’t wait for the final 6. Knew there was a bloody catch with those cheap season tickets!
‘In defence of Joyce’. Well it would hardly be ‘attack’ with that mons tactics!
Fleetwood won’t be in our league way they are playing. Uwe Rosler has transformed that club overnight with crowds of 2000. What exactly is WJ trying to achieve? Spoke to academy coach at United who says he was good at United as by the time the players got to him they were technically good and had flair. He was good at getting them into shape and developing their tactical side in an u23 league. He looks completely out of his depth at this level. In the last 3 games I’ve watched I can’t remember us having a meaningful shot on target. At least when Grigg came on we spent a bit of time in their half. Looks a bloody daft decision now to get rid of Caldwell so quickly because he never served up the utter shite this fella has over the last 4 months.
With us only scoring a goal every other game this season its been a bloody awful season for supporters and most feel completely despondent I’m sure. Don’t think I’ve witnessed a latics team with such a lack of invention and it’s bloody pitiful to watch. Not one player can beat a player, create a killer pass, shoot well. It’s awful to watch and um surprised more haven’t boycotted what must be the worst Latics team in around 20 years.
What’s our record season for games where we haven’t scored? 15 games so far in the league is bloody impressive even by our standards.
Meanwhile looks probable that Uwe Rosler will pass us in the tables with Fleetwood Town!
Thanks for that Tichmarsh!
Given we haven’t scored a goal in almost half the games we’ve played it’s understandable fans feel frustrated. Amazing that we are still in with a chance of staying up.
Romero will be in goals. Luke Shaw and Blind at back with Martial and Mykhitarian up top. No Zlatan am afraid!
