GOMEZ IS ABSOLUTELT RUBBISH made a point of watching him last night. 1 tackle in the whole game Was trotting along the side of the Sunderland players and if I say trotting that was an exageration. Also EVERYONE can see that Jones is to slow to play in that postion, as is proved every game, so why does this clown keep playing him there???? I’m afraid i’ve got to the point, after watching them from the non league days, that although I’ve got a season ticket I’m seriously thinking of not going again, unless there are some drastic changes in the management i.e. MARTINEZ or his so called “Attractive style of football” :(
Look, I along with the MAJORITY of Latics fans think that Martinez has no idea and is way out of his depth. The same thing can be said for the rest of the coaching staff. This is my opinion. I realise that there are people who think he is doing a good job. All I want to know is, can you tell me why you think this way? Am I missing something? All I know is that over the last two and a half years we have gone from an OK team to the worst team in the League. Martinez can’t say that he hasn’t had time. He has got rid of the team he inherited and brought his own players in. On some of which, he has spent a LOT OF MONEY. Even the TV pundits can see his tactics are wrong The commentator on Saturday’s game even said “Wigan are 2-0 down surely they must change their tactics”. Last week on Gillette Soccer Saturday they were lampooning him saying that every time we lose he finds positives. Even they now realise that this tag of “THE BEST YOUNG MANAGER” was another of DW’s senior moments. I could go on for hours, but everything I can say has been said a hundred times before. I’ve had a bet that we will concede at least 20 goals before the end of the year. When, by then, I fear we will have been relegated in all but name only. I hope I’m wrong, but I still believe in Father Christmas. ;)
filmoss that is exactly how me and my mates feel (One of them has watched more Latics games in the league than anyone else. I think apart from a break when he was in hospital. I think he has only missed a couple of games, League, FA cup, and League Cup.since they got in the League.) As you say Saturday comes and it’s like having to go to work  I know that if I missed a couple of games I would stop going, as at the moment it’s just habit that keeps me going. On Saturday walking home in the rain and cold I got to thinking that as the next two home games or on the TV If the weather is like this, I’ll stay at home and watch it there.
I’ve been watching football, at all levels, for over 50 years and the football I’m watching at the moment is the worst.I’ve seen. My old games teacher had more idea than Martinez.Don’t worry when he comes back. Martinez will soon having playing CRAP again.
As much as I think Moses is a good player, and in a better team, with the right coaching, could become a decent player. BUT 40+ shots this season with no goals says it all  The most of any Premier League player, without scoring.. We can’t keep putting it down to BAD LUCK. What they do in training I don’t know? however if it’s anything like I saw last season. It’s, a game of 5 a side, a run around the pitch, Lunch, then back home. All done and dusted in 2 hours…
Richcrx I think you are speaking for 99.9% of Latics fans. Enough is enough. Blackburn were really unlucky to lose on Saturday. Can’t see us getting anything but 1 point from the next game against them. The whole set up at the club from top to bottom is, to say the least, very naive at this level. :(
After every game it’s IF this, IF that. If Al Habsi hadn’t pulled off some fantastic save it could have been 6. Every team could say the same thing. Face up to it, we aren’t hard done by, we are just Not Good Enough :(
Can’t score can’t defend. No doubt the FA will be summoning Mr Alcaraz to explain why he spat at one of the Wolves players Bloody Disgusting, another Diouff, We don’t want hes sort at the club no matter how good or bad he is. We really have hit ROCK BOTTOM Thanks Roberto. 10 years hard work thrown away by one Useless, Stubborn, Spaniard. Oh! and a stubborn chairman
Just spoken to my mate, who went last night. After spending 10 hours in a crappy old Mini, bus courtesy of the TRAVEL CLUB, which NEVER stopped going or coming home :( His observations on the game…. YET ANOTHER RUBBISH PERFORMACE. Against an ordinary Champioship team. First shot after 70+ minutes, says it all.
If Martinez thinks this squad is stronger than before, the guy is deluded. Which I think most of the fans already know.No contest. my mate Steve Goulding. Never missed a competitive game, home or away in the first 7? years of Latics in the football league. Then he had a bad car accident which put him in hospital and he couldn’t go for about two years. He has only missed a couple of games since. Only one in the last 16 years.
He collapsed in his seat, just lower down than where I sit. The stewards went to him and a couple of Wigan Fans carried him down to the concourse. This happened about 20 mins before the end of the game As I went down onto the concourse, after the game, the paramedics were working frantically on him. I must admit when they carried him onto the concourse I thought he was dead. As I walked home, near to the lights at Beech Hill, the ambulance passed me. Glad to see he is recovering. I have been thinking about him since yesterday.
I fear we will do a Bradford City
I feel so angry and frustrated to see 10 years hard work being systematically destroyed in two years. Martinez’s ethos of wanting to play like Barcelona is fine if you have Barcelona type, world class, players. We can’t even do the basics right i.e. controlling the ball and passing. What you haven’t got in skill you have to, in some part, make up in bloody hard graft like teams such as Stoke, Wolves, Blackpool. Players, at this time of the season, should be coming off the field on their hands and knees, having run themselves into the ground.
Awwww I could go on for hours but I’m only getting more angry. No doubt a lot of other posters feel the same way. My feelings more than likely will not be shared by many, but when people post on here, be it for or against a topic, it shows that we do all, have the best interests of the club at heart.Well said Warrington. Some people can only see it from one side. We scored a goal against Bolton which was 2 yards off side. Rodders goes up EVERY TIME with his elbows out, could be a Red card but usually just a yellow. Just watched the WOLVES game HUNT ran and chased more in one half than the majority of our team, do in two games.
I feel that is so much wrong with the club from, Manager, Tactics, Team Morale, Calibre of Players. Back room staff, etc. Maybe I’m having a rant :x but I feel so disillusioned about what has happend over the last two years… I have been watching football for well over 50 years I had a season ticket at Everton from 1962-74 during that time I saw all of the GREAT teams and players, and when I didn’t go away, I would go to Bolton. Preston. Latics, When Wigan got into the league, I started to go regularly every week, home and away. I can honestly say That in all that time, I have never been as BORED watching football, as I have over the last two years. I am still waiting to see our Martinez’s “ATTACKING STYLE OF PLAY”
After the Wolves result I feel we now need to win both our games and I can’t see it happening.
and even then, we have to rely on both Wolves and Blackpool dropping points. Martinez’s quote at around Christmas ” I’m not bothered about the lack of goals”( If I had been the chairman I would have sacked him for that comment alone) may come back to haunt him.
Just read what I’ve wrote, and I was going to delete it, as the ramblings of an ‘old git’ but B0010CK5..Did you also predict Wolves beating Man Utd and West Ham beating Liverpool? If you did, I’ll send my Littlewoods Coupon to you next week. We’ll go 50/50 on any winnings  Can’t see 39 points being enough this season and I can’t see us getting that many anyway
I think there must have been a Cannabis Farm Fire in Lostock Hall
