The bottom line is that we dont have the cutting edge at the moment, too many silly mistakes and a general lack of confidence across the team. Too many games this season where we could easily have won it, or got a draw.
The fact is that we havent and need to get that cutting edge
How we get it back is the question, more than likely from a run of results and the confidence coming back. Maybe the run of home fictures and defending in the first half would help.
Keep the faith and we will be fine, go down with the ship if it happens, either way we may as well stick with it for the ride. I cant imagine any of the negetive posters on here will take any real joy from saying I told you so, if so then they arent a fan of the club.!
Dont worry they play us in a few weeks all will be better.
Lets see what happens over the weekend. Given our current record, if we can stop shipping goals, we have plenty of attacking options scoring so we will be fine. The next month is key to survival.
One thing is for sure is that the papers sell based on speculation, so teams like us in trouble will always be seen to look to spend our way out of trouble.
What can be sure is that Wigan/Whelan always under delivery what the papers promise !
Vat, in the words of the failing spanish manager (Bentitez) facts, you can only base judgement on facts not rumour….
You dont know the circumstances on the McDonald deal. what was offered and what wasnt, so your negative stance is mispaced. Whether we can afford £4m or not is something you have no knowledge over so stop talking rubbish.
The media talk about £7m or Euro’s, statements on a foreign clubs website was maybe placed there to stoke up the fuel on the fire and try to force the price up. Maybe Whelan is being sensible and not being stiffed over the price. Again, you have no knowledge of the actual facts so you talk rubbish again.
The transfer Window in January is notoriously slow and dull, we have 3 signings already to strengthen the defensive options, shame on Whelan for giving the fans what they want. If we sign a no mark from Swansea to add to a squad then what is the issue with this? Why should your expectations limit what roberto can and cant do in his job. Again you have no idea on actuals or facts, just reading into potential internet gossip.
You are a decent enough wind up merchant on this site, but I really do hope you arent as angry as you make out, sad way to perceive everything really.
I am sure when you join the WAFC board you will have more of the facts and be able to comment about the harsh reality of life in the premiership.
Chin up !
Maybe people should stop believing some of the reports in newspapers about players being signed, or what is said on the internet. Try waiting until the official announcements before you get excited about a signing. Of course Whelan will talk up potential signings, why wouldnt he. Do we alway have to keep going over the same conversations about him being the devil or god…….
Why not vent the anger and dissapointment on yourself, as it was you who believed the media hype. You never know.
I think that people believe the hype in the media and the violence in south africa. The reality is a lot of major sporting events take place there without issue.
Cost is the big worry for most, but with the added risk factor and the recession, people might not take the risk.
As for comparing South Africa to Liverpool, I doubt the South Africans have as big a chip on their shoulders and you can probably understand them better !
Hopefully it will be part of a nationwide ginger culling, starting with him moving onto Chris Evans and Mick Hucknall….
You know Wigan have been really fortunate in signing cracking players from south america, I just have this sneaky feeling this one might be our first waste of cash. Am 100% behind him, but we are due a bad un !
I would have thought the crime worry, overpriced flights and lack of accomodation might have something to do with it. 4 grand for the group stages, my god they expect how many people to book that? I went to Japan for half that and we stayed to the quarter finals !
Fifa will drop ticket prices closer to the time for locals and call it a peoples finals !
Shall we have a sweep stake to see how long before the web critics pan him?
I guess we can add to this the recent sanctioning of bankers bonuses, post the economic crash…… lining their friends pockets before they get booted out of government, I wonder how many members of the cabinet make it to the boards of banks in the next 10 years !
The big dissapointment is that everyone hoped they would be different, but they were never the working mans party… Shame John Smith never took them to government.
If anyone saw the old firm game recently you would have seen his ability to lose strikers on set pieces, specifically when McCulloch scored.
He can also rival Bramble with the aimless crossfield pass.

We need strikers next ! Come on Bob get one signed.
Maybe Martinez will continue to sign players, but the goalkeeper and defence was the priority this week?
He has player awful for Celtic over the last 18 months, captained a team that finished 2nd to the worse Rangers team for the past 20 years. Celtic fans were critical enough before he decided to leave the club.
Have faith in Bobbys judgment I guess, although many on here arent that positive.
However, dont think we have go a Fifa player of the year on a bosman. There is a reason why they want to let him go.
Him and Bramble will have competitions on who can let the most stikers past them by the end of the season.
haha jimmy_cornflake, concerned about using the queens english…. from a wiganer
