I was ready for walking out when Gelhardt was subbed off.

      Somehow, tonight was typical Latics

Why? What exactly did Gelhardt contribute?[/quote]

He was no better, or worse, than anyone else up to that point, apart from playing in Robinson in the 1st half. But as we were on top I had visions of him linking up with More to win the game. I never expected the subs to have such a dramatic effect, why would I after this season so far?
Credit where credits due, the subs worked, Jacobs looked fresh, Lowe scored, we held on.

Never thought I would say this, but Morsy was outstanding tonight and was my Man of the Match closely followed by the ever impressive Naismith.

Good second half performance by them all to be fair.

I thought Morsy was superb seemed to be everywhere, Naismith was quality too.
Lowe seemed to grow 2 ft taller after his goal

Wednesday were shocking, like a lot of the teams we’ve seen.

Could this be the turning point as we’ve really got nothing to fear in this league.

Good luck to him dont think he was ever given a chance after signing just hope he doesn’t score against us next season.

              Guaranteed he will

                Meanwhile….

Nick Chadwick’s under strength team wins their 6th game in a row.

Maybe, just maybe there could be something in this? Maybe with Chadwick running the 1st team and Cook as “Director of Football” , or in some executive capacity, we could move forward without people losing face?

The change and energy that comes with it might just give us some hope for this season and next.

Now with all namby pamby positive shite out of the way lets get back to what we do well and lose again without scoring!

I think Shrewsbury have pretty much nailed any argument of why we should keep the replays.

I hope they win the replay

My question is answered, we were everywhere!

For the record I was in the Park End stand with my dad, had a great view of John Brown’s save that won “save of the month”

How did 20 k away fans fit into the tiny paddock behind the goal and relatively small stand above?

For anyone who hasn’t seen it, the highlights are on YouTube

This is sad to hear mutty as we all know what he can do and his goal scoring record speaks for itself. He is ok league one level and perhaps he needs a bit of support and confidence that everyone needs to flourish.

He is improving all the time, don’t know how with our set up, but a transfer to AC Milan would be a major feather in our cap.

Plus we have cover in this position and maybe a better Robinson in our youth team

How much is your commission vince?

Snap hands , legs , in fact decapitate the whole carcus for that money.
Been arguably our best player and far better when in attacking positions.
Hell of a move for our most hardworking and committed player and he deserves his big break if it comes.
Good luck to the young lad I say

I totally agree with you vince and he’s my vote for player of the year so far. As his unofficial (official) agent , can you negotiate a deal where we get £10 million and Milan loan him back to us for the rest of the season?

Now normally, an increasing points deficit, strikers who can’t score, a defence who can’t keep a clean sheet, half the team on the treatment table and the other half badly out of form, and, a manager who picks his tactics from a lucky dip would give a cause for concern.

But never fear, Darren’s magic fairies from the bottom of the garden are going to save us!

Oh and we’re gonna sell chicken & magic mushroom pies from the next game!

I don’t think the penny has dropped with Darren Royle that as we slumber into relegation, his position and credibility becomes untenable. Its very noble to stand by your manager for so long but now its got to be him or Cook to save his skin.
Season ticket sales could slump dramatically next season as a lot of fans won’t forgive watching us go down without a fight, and once those fans have gone, it’ll be very very hard to get them back.

But then again, would we be bothered, or even notice the difference when Darren Royle goes?
