I thought that there looked to be more than 10,000 empty seats (in our end) but its hard to tell.
Foolsgold more than likley used Google translate which is a very good (free) tool but it provides a literal translation, you need to use your common sense to work out what it would really read in English. It aint that difficult.
shite web site too!
considering we only get 16/17 on an average game, if we get 20k at Wembley that is good going as far as I know. I also knopw there are people who are hoping we get through and will go to the final – they can’t afford both.
You are being niave if you think any of the out of contract players will resign at the end of the year – with the possible exception of Boyce, who has been an excellent servant but is getting to the end of his career in the prem (age).
Bobby has spent the last few years sorting out the wage bill so we become sustainable. There will be new clubs and other bottom dwellers willing to pay more than we will and a signing on fee and they will go there, why wouldn’t they? Some like Figgy and Alcaraz are no longer spring chickens and they effectively have one good contract left. They owe it to themselves and their families to make as much as possible before they end their careers.
lopez wont be a big loss, neither will Figgy. Di Santo will end up as the reserve striker (like Hugo) at a club like Fulhum or as the main striker at a newly promoted club desperate for PL experience – he won’t be too big a loss.
The one I would like Bobby to make an exception for is Alcaraz, break the bank and get him to sign a new contract (and give him the captaincy – toss up with Ramis).
Bobby has not rested on his laurals, Globart looks pretty good but we need another defender to come in. He has midfield replacements for jimmy Mac (C) who will be off but we need someone who can fill the right WB role and I’m not sure how close we are to having that. Left WB cover is also questionable but young Redmond (or is it Mustoe) looked like he is in the grand plan – then there are the spanish lads (Campabadel is LWB I think). Will these lads will be ready for next seaon is of course a big question.THe QPR game next Sunday is such a big game, hopefully the desire to win a place in the starting eleven fro Wembley will give them the incentive to put in a performance.
If you cut out the 2 Samba error’s last night, QPR were up for it and if they disply that intensity next week at home, it will be a very difficult game for us.
my concern is the last week (arsenal and AV). If we should win or loose the fa cup theirs bound to be a reaction (negative) through eleation or deflation and we have 2 critical games to play.
of all the players out of contract at the end of this season, he has to be the one we try and keep! with Ramiz, alcaraz and golobart in the center we should be solid.
If you are looking to stay over the night wait until a day before and go on trivago web site – you can pick up some good last minute deals on hotels and there is no risk you won’t get a room.
just be careful with the posh hotels because buying a drink sometimes needs a second mortgage.official coach by the way.
We didn’t play 3 at the back. We played 4 – 4 – 2 so Figgy was left back and JB was playing the left wing.
maybe it is all silent because the Norwegian transfer window does not open until 14th january
On the origins of the name Wigan, my undertsanding was it came from the “Wiggin” being the ancient name for the Beach Tree. Hence the tree on top of the Crown (tree & Crown) from the coat of arms.
This would tend to be reinforced by the name Wiggin Tree on Parbold Hill (which was always in Wigan borough) and Beachill.so my nephew, who is a season ticket holder and travels up from the midlands has to leave just before the end to catch his train falls into this catagoryof part time fans does he?
He can be frustrating in his lack of desire to provide effective defence (opposition must know that there is no fear of being tackled if he is tracking them) but I have never boo’ed him (though members of my family despise him). His vision and passing is very underated though. On Saturday some of his passes were sublime and I still recall the pass for the first goal at the emirates last season – stunningly good and then he followed up with he 2nd goal.
He also did also show (at Arsenal) that he is capable of defending. Which in someways adds to the frustration i sometimes feel.I think you are all being over critical of Boyce. With Kone mainly employed on the right side and clearly making himself available for a quick break, it meant that Boyce was left to defend the right flank without the support that would be normal in our 3-4-3 set up. Last year Moses (when he played on the right) would track back and provide extra support. That did not happen on staurday and Boyce had to contend with Baines and Pienaar who gave him a tough time. Any other right back would have done the same.
Boyce is head ove heals better than Stam, both in defending and in crossing – you have short memories.
It was also not long ago when someone pubished the sprint times of players in the PL (this season) and Boyce was in 2nd place.
hardly slow – he was knackered because he had so much to cope with.
I hang my head in shame that I spelled trousers as trowsers. Mrs Do will have to punish me.
JohnDoe – Good one – obviously you do not know Mrs Do.
