A loss is a loss, Pearce going was a massive mistake, McCann going was massive too, Burn at the moment is a big mistake, Bogdan i don’t like him but can’t complain, i don’t know if hes on this 75% games played but that’s a crap deal, last season ‘all the big transfer decisions’ we got right this year we’ve got them wrong, be ruthless Mr Sharp, Bruce is available there’s no sentiment in this game. We can’t afford not to survive this season.

Bit early to drag this one up grumpy..
The way GC plays now is very different from early part of last season. We get forward much quicker now and look like scoring.
Granted he needs to sort defence out as we are conceding but let him find his feet first..
Bear in mind this is a much better standard of footy than league 1. Perkins is finding that out!!

Or should that be a bollock dropped in leaving out the player of last season. Was he injured? Any news on this masterstroke?
Dan Burn doesn’t seem a great replacement for Pearce either does he.
Good to see the spirit in fighting back twice and great to see Will proving himself at an higher level. Three goals away and losing is hard to bear but making changes could be questionable.

Perkins ineffectiveness has been mentioned on just about every game this season, so fair play to Caldwell for trying to improve midfield.
Didn’t go but sounded like Burn made a howler for their First. Would love to see Hendry given a go!
Forrest have O’burke on loan who sounds fantastic (according to Dowie).

My only concern is where he fits in as i presumed when we signed powell, that was the end of interest in gomez. Dont get me wrong i’m glad he is back as im a fan of his, but with powell, jacobs & colclough, i just cant see where he will fit in.

But FAO gary; please sign another striker

I think the question is – Where are Powell, Jacobs & Colclough going to fit in. I know where Jordi will be! The starting 11.
I think Colclough might go
Would have to agree Egg. For me Colclough just doesn’t seem to have a presence on the pitch..

So far we’ve played the weaker teams and overall we’ve held our own (still annoyed by Bristol result) at this rate of 4 points every 3 games we’ll have 60 points and mid division finish, I’m hoping for a play off position myself, but deary me we need a class striker and no more midfielders.

I’m confident we’ll be nearer play off rather than relegation come end of season.

Wednesday & Norwich coming up soon so we’ll have a good idea of how good we are after these games as both of them will be there or there abouts.

With you on the striker issue!

Cant understand why we’ve bought another midfielder? It’s up front where we need to strengthen…
If anything happens to Grigg we are in trouble.

Good three points today, expected it really. Suspect rovers will struggle with that idiot in charge.

How did we play, what formation and any stand out players for us?

In reply Jimmy at the end of the last fantastic season we had McAleny on loan as the extra striker as yet we have not replaced cover for this position. Vuckic was on loan as a striker/midfielder and hasn’t been replaced.
We have brought in Powell but let Chris McCann go. Yes Powell is younger but no better a midfielder than Chris. Odelousi was shite but not been replaced. Morsy looks like he is out of favour but Gilbey has arrived. Is Gilbey a better midfielder?
Warnock was already here.
Taylor, McKay were on loan came back and went again.
Huws will go.
Nichols gone but Bogdan could be a better replacement.
Burn and Buxton have arrived but Pearce and Barnet have gone and the spare left back Wabara as gone too along with Kevin McNaughton.
So maybe slightly stronger in player ability but shorter in numbers but we are at an higher level.
As Gary says ‘We need to bring players in’

Fair point re up front, we’re very light in that dept.
We look stronger in defence for me and the ones That have gone won’t be missed (apart from Pearce).

Interesting comment, how do you work that one out?

Would hope for a decent crowd of around 15k. Think we’ll win, especially if we play like we did in the first half at Bristol. Won’t be there in body but will be in spirit.

Worried with our signings so far and more leaving doesn’t fill me with confidence.

First impressions I think the signings have been good, but time will tell.

Morsy seems a bit of a liability on the pitch to me. He gets booked and still goes in recklessly.
GC mustn’t be happy with him as he didn’t get on at Bristol, even though Perkins had a poor game?

First 15 mins or so I thought he was poor. A lot of misplaced passes and some poor positioning. But he was great after that, probably a bit nervous as JR said.
Gets forward well and is good defensively.

Who gives a shit about Blackburn?

What we should be worried about is Caldwell’s tactics of defending a one goal lead instead of going for a second and third goal.

Well it’s our next league match so we’d be foolish not to be thinking of them…
As for Caldwell, he does tend to learn from his mistakes so I ain’t too worried at this stage.

It’s going to be a long season for Blackburn with that Mon in charge. We should get our first win for sure against them men…
Ps, Jack Hendry should be on the bench at least for that game, he’s way better than Daniels and Morgan.

I didn’t expect much before kick off as city finished last season strong. But was gutted to come away with nothing.
Caldwells subs changed the game, Grigg didn’t look tired, GC went to defend the lead and we went deeper and deeper and the inevitable happened.
That said we have a lot to be happy about, apart from bogdan all other new signings looked good. We were great in the first half and will only get better.
