I heard a rumour Yootha Joyce is appearing for Norway in tonight’s
debacleshow.Once brexit is complete, will we no longer have to enter this annual embarrassment?
It certainly clicked for Bobby when it mattered I thought we were superb in the final but that was his Achilles heel consistency. Overall I would have PJ’s Latics all day and the shed full of goals we scored. But as you rightly say preference.
People would rather watch a team win than lose? Hold the presses!!
Only jokng, those sides we had under Jewell were class and just had a desire to win no matter what.
Always remember conceding against Notts County in the 90th minute in a game we were 3-0 up in but as it was the first goal we had conceded in something like 9 games John Filan, Jason De Vos and Matt Jackson were all clearly irate at the fact they had scored.
Reminds me of leaving the ground after close of play after the Reading game. Everyone else was floating so high like we’d been breathing helium, but there was this fella really giving it some because Reading scored in injury time and he had £10 on Wigan 3-0 with Super Lee first goal
Same chap probably came out of Wembley effing and blinding because we didnt win 2-0 :silly:
Anything up to the £250 mark would be acceptable, but I think we might be looking at renewals being similar to this year.
I think new incentives should be looked at, perhaps a 5 or 10 game ticket for the floaters and those that can’t go every week and find on the day prices too expensive.
We should certainly be looking at cutting pay on the day prices as that has put loads off recently.Audience in the East/South looked very thin today
Do you sit in the west stand, cos that looked thin from the east stand.
Glad you think my diet’s working

ST prices are tricky. My immediate reaction would be they need to freeze the prices given relegation. But this season’s tickets were very cheap at £179 renewal. Probably get away with £199 renewal but into the £200’s I agree there could be a substantial reduction in renewals (I’ll be there of course ;) )
Standing here now on the concourse with a pint reflecting on this lorry crash of a season there is one positive today….
It’s a nice day
There is only one man to take the helm. Only one man could possibly begin to sort out the HUGE mess that has been left now. Wigan Athletic can’t buy their way up next season so the players that are there and will be coming in need motivation. A man who isn’t afraid of what people think or try and dictate to him. That man is Roy Keane. There shouldn’t even be any other name in the frame. If The Latics want to survive then Keane needs appointing and given longevity. You’ve a good point there Yosser…Roy Keane would be an excellent choice. We can but hope.
Back to reality, we’ve more chance of getting his namesake Steve, whose tactical prowess makes Yootha Joyce look like Bill Shankly.
Chris Hutchings
Just to confirm, I WILL be there on Sunday God willing…
And next season
For better, for worse, for richer, for poorer….
Jesus!!!!
Yes I agree,we need some divine intervention.
Where’s Moses when we really need him? :woohoo:
Okay Runcorn; does that make me and you are the only Believers ?
Probably!! I’m trying to put the message out on those facebook pages as well, with very little success. I’ll only stop believing if we lose or draw & results go against us next week.
But until then;
“I’m a believer”
“Don’t stop believing”2 songs i can’t stop singing in my head at the moment. I really must be deluded.
I was actually a bit annoyed that Birmingham didnt hold out for a draw today and put us out of our misery.
Because we’re Wigan, because we’ve done the impossible several times, we still think we can pull it off.
It’s not good for our collective healths thinking like that
Now hang on, there’s some revisionism going on here. Pat Gavin and Neil Morton were the two worst forwards I’ve ever seen at Latics. As for Morton trying, I have never known a player get more stick from the crowd.
Maybe you’ve forgot about that Moreno and Mido then?
Who could forget Julius Agahowler?
Let’s get behind the boys today…it’s too nicer day to be relegated.
All we can do is win our games…at least we know a win takes us to next week still fighting.
Oh it would be but it worked for Gary in his first season. Oops parachute payments did support his efforts. At this rate we will crash to earth very soon
We need a whole new approach; complete clear out of the backroom and start again with a young, hungry for success manager.
I’ll throw 2 more names into the hat.
Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes (has he expressed an interest in management..apart from his hobby club?)
ManUre again..but thinking outside the box. At least they both know where the box and goal posts are
When I first saw the question I thought it was going to be “Who’s going today?” :woohoo:
