Will Reading be the last chance saloon :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
You could always vote for the Greens (tongue in cheek).
Let’s save the planet; but we’ve no foo king ideas how to accomplish it !I would honestly like Cookie to be a big success for the Latics; but on Saturday he was already beaten in his head before we even kicked off. It was yet another team that he was heaping praise upon in his pre match amble; maybe preparing the ground for his post match analysis.
How often did you ever hear Bill Shankly & Bob Paisley eulogising about the forthcoming opposition? Their attitude was more about concentrating on their own game and let the opposition do all the worrying. The psychology is really simple; a bit like a child who believes that he is going to be seasick or carsick, so it is no surprise when the inevitable happens. That feeling of trepidation gives the team a subliminal message that it is acceptable to get beaten; because the gaffer already believes that it a distinct possibility.
Who is our sports psychologist ? We have enough people in tracksuits ?
Their goal all started with Jacobs giving the ball away cheaply, around the half way line. Nuff said !
I don’t understand our formation to be fair.
Everyone slags off 442, but we play with a target man as a 442 team may do. but we never have another player within 20 yards of the target man.
If we are going to use Moore as a target man, FFS get someone up there to take advantage of that as the lad wins nearly every ball, but there is never any one to flick or lay it off to.
What position or role is Massey supposed to be playing, as it is definitely not a supporting role for Moore?
I really feel sorry for Moore, he works his bollox off, wins everything but has no support at all.Feel sorry for Moore also looked absolutely knackered at the end today, maybe gelhard working with him is the answer.
I hear you. And bring windass back into the team as well.
My front 4 would be a combination of:
Moore
Gelhardt
Windass
PilkingtonThe latter 3 swapping positions every now & again.
Totally agree, and Garner could come on to replace Moore in the latter stages of games where he has had seven shades kicked out of him.
I would even look to bring Evans or Naismith on before Jacobs and Massey the way those two are performing this season.
Totally agree with you HORC.
Nobody forgets a horc and donnyspage singathon
Cheers Ad, we were afterall part of ‘The famous Two Man Kop’ at Sprinfield Park before loads on here were even born.
PS. ‘The Famous Two Man Kop’ had three members, the 3rd is/was LHL.
Aye, even Kevin Langley remembered us when we spoke with him about 2 years ago ! I think he secretly liked us polishing his ego before the start of every match :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Well at 2-1 down, I thought fook me I’ll mow the lawn and forget it’s Saturday.
Job done, I check the results and woo hoo we got a draw.
But then I check Sky robbing bastards Sports and see Joe G’s goal and Wow !!!!!!!
What a great debut goal for the Tics !!!!!!
This boy is gold dust !!!!!
Can he be our saviour ?
Will Cookie be brave enough to give him the chance ?Think we missed Pilkington yesterday. He had a good second half against Cardiff and showed plenty of energy and desire.
Jacobs and Byrne were poor, especially their passing (even short passes failed to reach a Latics player).
Having said that the defence was at fault for the first two goals, Cookie was right to point out that the Ref made Garner leave the pitch, prior to the corner that lead to their first goal. Thus we were a marker short in the box. I wouldn’t really blame Marshall; he actually kept the score down with two cracking saves.
The only positive for us, was Williams. He looked sharp and hungry when he came on for Jacobs.
Still a point better off than I thought we would be after two games.Charlie Mulgrew???Always been a tough opponent when we have played against him !
Yep, pretty well pleased with our transfer dealings for once :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
And here is the first line of his well known song !
“Tom Pearce, Tom Pearce, lend me your grey mare”
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Play him with Garner with wide men and win the league. Is that 4-4-2 Donny :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Was there most dangerous player when he came on as sub, at Deepdale last year.
Hope his heart is in it; if the poor lad has to take an £18k per week drop :woohoo:
Sorry Ste, but I would have more admiration if money wasn’t part of the recipe !
Well said Donny !
The Humble Pie at the Cumberland Inn, washed down with a pint or two of the local bitter is fare tucker :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
