We have the core of a good team, the signings of McCarthy, Caldwell and Moses are a step in the right direction.

I’m sure we’ll hear what Martinez really thinks about certain players at the end of the season. Right now he still needs them to put in a couple of decent performaces this season, so has to manage their fragile egos.

Scotland isn’t upto Premiership standards, he shouldn’t be put in the firing line when he is so obviously struggling.

He’d be far more effective coming on in the last 15 minutes, after N’Zogbia, Rodallega and Moses had already run the legs off the defenders.

Is there a prize on offer for the most outraged poster?

Talk about wrapping players in cotton wool, Sharners public berating of McCarthy was enough to justify him being brought off. He is obviously a proponent of humiliating people in public, in which case I guess he’ll have a stormer in our next game.

As for Martinez, I’ve backed him since day one, and still do, but he is doing himself no favours.

It’s been clear since well before Christmas Scotland isn’t a Premiership standard player, using him as an impact sub would help us and the player.

Quite why our only goalscorer is isolated out on the wing is beyond me, it hasn’t been working for quite some time. Before Moses arrived you could undersand Martinez’s thinking, but after settling in and making a great impact against Burnley, Moses still can’t get into this extremely poor team.

We rely too much on N’zogbia, when he does produce a great ball, we have no one in the box to knock it in!

We should have N’Zogbia and Moses on the wings and Rodallega through the middle, if we need a greater physical presence upfront, switch to 4-4-2 and stick Moreno up there too.

Then there’s Melchiot keeping Boyce out of the team, why?

Worst of all, the attitude of the players against Burnley and Portsmouth stunk from minute one, we aren’t good enough to waste a half before we generate some momentum.

Latics don’t do gamesmanship, we must be a dream to ref.

In an ideal world all teams would be the same, as it is the most successful ones are the biggest set of ********.

What would we have given to have Brown in our midfield tonight.

We’d have half a chance if we picked our strongest side!

Boyce’s pace at right back was a breath of fresh air when he came into the team, he wasn’t caught out at the back and added an attacking dimension, Melchiot is a liability.

Up front we have Moreno to play the holding up role, we could stick Rodallega alongside him, and put Moses on the right wing.

If fans want to applaud a player who was pulling out of tackles, not chasing down, and passing the blaim onto a young player in McCarthy, let them.

In my book there is a very big difference between a player putting in a poor performace, and one who shows contempt for his teammates, the club, and the fans.

Well the Arsenal fans will at least get a good view of their two new signings, Rodallega and N’Zogbia.

According to Vital Wigan it’s a 100% done deal.

Perhpas Sharner wasn’t booed off because so many of the crowd were in the process of telling him to f*** off and never put a Latics shirt on again.

His gutless performance ranks up there with the occasions when Simon Howarth spat out his dummy.

He is a senior player, his attitude stinks, which can only have a negative effect on the rest of the squad.

Do you think he’ll spit his dummy and not appear for us again?

And for James to note – there was cheering at the DW tonight…. when that board was held up.

Straight down the tunnel he went. A legend in his own mind.

Yeah…Insulting our longest serving player and cheering his exit. Great. Have a bad game and latics fans hate you… No wonder people don’t want to sign and no wonder players want to leave.[/quote]
Tonight Sharner was an absolute disgrace, his and other players attitudes, not ability, is the reason we deserve to go down.

‘I didnt hear them complaining when the council’s admiration of WRLFC allowed them to get the new stadium they needed. As we all know the council would never have allowed the JJB to be built without us. I understand that they wouldnt have allowed it without them either but at least we dont moan about the council lmao. I’m pretty sure the council helped them build a stadium to share with us right? Just a thought…’

Dear me, some of there own fans aren’t even aware they only jumped on the DW Stadium bandwagon once construction was well underway.

No wonder most of them don’t realise Latics now own the stadium.

So, Whelan says “Wigan Rugby cannot be moved from the stadium” and he “Will take legal action against the Premier League” if they try to enforce it.

Do you know why? because the only ones at risk (until the lease is up) are Wigan Athletic, which is what the more reasoned of us have been telling you since this story broke.

Whelan won his battle over the policing issue, if this one goes to court he will also win this one.

Weren’t you all telling us this story was ******** when it broke?

You obviously believe Latics fans are a touch wet behind the ears.

The lack of comprehension regarding finances and the naivety on show over there is a sight to behold, still it’s what I’ve come to expect.

PS, I have a bridge to sell you………………..

To say the rugby lot aren’t worried about this situation, they sure are clocking up the posts, even if you discount those wishing to see Latics to go out of existence.

This story has progresed from being dismissed as a journalists rant, to being on the front and back pages of the Wigan Observer.

What’s next, a legal loophole seeing the rugby being turfed out?

Nothing would suprise me, afterall we now see rugby fans taking Whelans words as gospel!

                                TyldesleyLatic was the sensible reply.
Do you think the PL have any jurisdiction over Wigan RLFC’s tenancy at the stadium.

If Wigan RLFC went to court over that agreement, who do you think would win, and more importantly, who would they be up against in court?

I am in absolutely no doubt Whelan will have drawn up a contract that gives him the final say, previous events with Orrell and rearranged Warriors games indicate this.

As far as this ruling only applying to the Premier League, it really makes no difference to Latics, it’s the Warriors who need to have contingency plans.

Surely not I was under the impression they had been purchased by HEINZ and WORTHINGTONS in a joint venture i would say that figure is a tad egaguauatated (for the chubbies reading this )

You can’t knock them, it’s a good initiative, if Latics aren’t already doing something similar, I hope we do in the future.

What I do find funny is how the rugby fans go out of their way to insist they are purchased tickets, when it’s a simple case of a company sponsoring a game for x amount, and recieving x amount of complimentary tickets as part of the deal.

Then you have the rugby festival, Big One etc., it’s all going to result in their average crowd being 14,500-15,000, rather than 13,000 or so.

As I say, good on them, but it is rather embarrassing to see them grovelling to the club about how great these things are, when not so long ago they slaughtered Latics for doing similar.
