Transfer fee’s are of little concern to me.

We’ve brought in McCarthy, MacArthur, Alcaraz and Gohouri for half the fee we paid for Koumas.

A team who Martinez can rely on to play with pride, passion, commitment and no little skill as opposed to last seasons spectacle of players turning up when they so pleased.

Not sure how you can come out with a statement like that after the cack we watched last year when most of the poor players were Bob’s signings.[/quote]Aside from N’zogbia the players who let us down were the so called established stars.

It was the injection of McCarthy alongside Diame at Christmas time and Moses fleeting appearances at the tail end of the season that pulled us out of the s***.

There was an attitude problem at this club a good six months before Martinez arrived and it’s taken some time for him to put his stamp on the squad.

Fear of change has been the downfall of many a great team.

Ferguson cutting ties with players apparently at the top of their game and replacing them with youth with plenty to prove is why Utd have been title contenders for the best part of two decades.

Last seasons performances were not acceptable so it’s great to see Martinez has the balls to stamp his authority on the squad.

              BREAKING NEWS!

              It’s a blue and white Latics shirt………………….

For those who want stripes there’s a batch of last seasons shirt available for a tenner apiece.

Now he’s retired from playing Liddell would be a great shout for a place on the youth coaching staff.

It says a lot about the English national team set-up that Heskey wasn’t even considered when he was in top form during his first season at Latics.

He was only given a chance when the press started to sing his praises during his second season ironically when his form dropped and injuries hit.

So we complain when the England team doesn’t perform, mainly because of the low number of English players in the Prem, then sign another Carlos Kickaball type. Or Catchaball in his case.

                    Doesn’t inspire me at all.

You’d have a point if it wasn’t for the fact our No.1 is English and we have another English keeper who’s been picked for England’s under 19 squad but isn’t yet ready to play in the Premiership.

You do wonder why the rugby always talk about averaging 20k whenever they plays St Helens or Warrington.

Do they not realise the numerous 12k attendances also count towards the average?

When he had a spell between the posts for Bolton last time around there were many who claimed he should keep his place full time.

It’s a refreshing change to see the club going about our transfer business out of the public eye.

When it comes to youngsters it appears they are now expected to achieve higher standards and push for a 1st team squad place.

Does a rugby season only consist of 2 home games?

TBH I don’t think there needs to be threads like this as ones like the fixture change discussion will crop up now and again.

The rugby will always be on shaky ground when they attempt to rip into Latics regarding support when they themselves only turn up to home games in reasonable numbers for a couple of games per season.

Even when top of the league anything around the 20k mark is a novelty and only possible with large marketing campaigns. Then again their fans seem to be happy with this situation even if it means less than 12k home fans turning up for numerous games throughout the season.

This made me laugh…..”Just how long do you think such a garbage team, with no support can keep riding their luck in the top league??”

Maybe they should tell us, they’ve been doing it for roughly the last 10 years

It’s not as if they have a grip on reality when they come out with such comments when only last week less than 12k home fans turned up to see their top of the table team.

It seems turning up in reasonable numbers for a couple of home games per season and pedalling the anti Latics crap is enough for them but it doesn’t cut it with everyone else.

Once again a complete lack of awareness regarding the situation and the usual claims about wanting to support Latics.

That must be why the vast majority of rugby fans are amrchair Utd, Liverpool, Everton and City fans or in other words glory hunters.

What’ll really stink is if the Pathetics end up pulling the stunt during the playoffs.

We have flogged our guts out for all of this season to get in a prime spot to get the best advantage in the playoffs and we could end up having to surrender home advantage like we did in the playoff game against Bradford at Widnes.

We’re the ones getting the regular good attendances, yet we’re the ones having to roll over when the Primadonna League and Mr Whelan click their fingers.

Will we get a reverse fixture from the Pathetics if we do well with the playoffs… by that deafening silence, I assume not. According to the Pathetics fixture list, we could conceivably lose home advantage two rounds on the bounce or have our games moved due to them playing Sunderland and Manchester City at home.

Our fixture list has been in the public domain since late last year!!! There is no reason whatsoever that Whelan should be playing the “I didn’t know” card – he should have discussed it with the Primadonna League and asked for a change round in the schedule as soon as the computer selected the fixtures.

Sooner they get relegated, the better!!!

Hey, Salsa, have yerself a tenner on both Latics and Blackpool falling spectacularly into the championship at the end of April 2011 with a couple of games to go.

I have always wanted to like Wigan’s football team but I find it very difficult due to their arrogance.
