It’s a bit like treading on ‘egg’shells on here ,you have to be careful what you say. I think Mr Leneghen has a lot of explaining to do.Three attempts to buy the stadium and training ground.Talk about kicking us when we are down. Had he succeeded that would probably have signalled the end for us. It’s difficult to see a way forward with both clubs working together. The promise to install all blue seats at the stadium by our Chairman I strongly suspect is because the rent increase talks are not going well with the Rugby. I also don’t like the comment Leneghen made about you don’t know what’s going to happen in the future , it comes across as a veiled threat that they will try again to buy the stadium from under our noses if the opportunity presents itself.
The first post mentions it a little and knowing what went on at the time, there are pieces missing.
Yes he tried to buy the stadium (to protect his investment) but he also tried to find a buyer for the football club he just wasn’t it because he didn’t want it.
I hear what your saying Egg but it does not ring true. Why would he try and find a buyer for Latics ? That was the admins job and Latics were a lot more attractive proposition with the stadium and training ground as part of the package . Splitting them up would have signalled the death knell , even the admin realised this. I think he saw an opportunity to purchase the stadium at a knock down price. Thankfully ,it did not happen.

He also doesnt have the personal wealth to fund the black hole that was WAFC 2020. It takes a rich man or a money launderer to manage that. Thankfully, you have now got the former as an owner.
As for the colour of my seat – like many others, I dont have eyes in my arse, and couldnt give two hoots what the colour is. But I get that it can be very very important to some sad individuals.
It’s pretty important to the fans of Sunderland FC ,you are allegedly ,one of them .

All’s I’ve heard is it was Pompey fans targeting 2 players. I’m not sure who and what was said, again, I can’t pass judgement.
My point is, if its abuse then its out of order, the problem is of late is, I see abuse slowly moving into the banter bracket.
Let’s be careful if fans are calling someone because he’s bald, fat, skinny then class it as abuse. It’s no more than you get in the boozer with your m8’s
The difference being if it’s in the pub and you take offence you can do something about it ,when it’s on social media these cowards can say anything they want to and they know nothing will happen .
Looks like it was the Portsmouth fans abusing Watmough and Naylor.Portsmouth have now issued a statement. As I say a bit of banter is fine but you have to draw the line at vile abuse aimed at players and their families.
I don’t know what’s been said but it’s on the BBC website and it’s also being reported that Wigan Athletic strongly condemn the abuse directed at a number of players on social media after the game on Saturday. I am all for a bit of banter but it seems this goes way beyond that.
We’ve not even warmed up yet
Jeez – you make out like Wigan are the only club to have had an overhaul over the summer. I had a look back to Sunderlands 5th league game last season. The starting line up was:
Burge; Willis, Wright, O’Nien; McLaughlin, Power, Leadbitter, Scowen, Gooch; Maguire, Wyke
Of that 11, Only O’Nien & Gooch started yesterday, and 6 of the 11 have left the club.
I then looked at the last game of last season:
Burge, Gooch, Wright, O’Nien, McFadzean; Scowen, Leadbitter; Maguire, McGeady; Stewart, Wyke.
Of that, O’Nien, Gooch, McGeady & Stewart started yesterday and 5 of the 11 have left the club.
Portsmouth had 5 players starting yesterday who started in their last game of the season in 20/21.
So why are all the other managers ,including yours , complaining that Wigan have brought in so many players over the summer when we were the only ones justified in doing so having been left with about six professionals.
I know, but we’ve sacked off many of those bottlers to you!
When do you reckon £10K a week Wyke will break his duck? And more importantly, will he score more than Ross Stewart this season?
It’s the ‘we are a massive club ‘ mentality of the Sunderland fans .Does not matter who the players are we know they will go missing when the pressure is really on. We are more than happy with the players we got from you ,as for Wyke ,I am sure he will start scoring as soon as we sort the service to him out. Plenty of time yet to overtake Stewart.
I would be looking over my shoulder if I were you.
We are. Its the only way we can look when top.
Can you cope with the pressure ? You do have a history of bottling it.
Shame that. Win that and you could have temporarily replaced us as league leaders.
Thanks for beating Pompey today. That’s points you have taken off 3 of our closest promotion rivals.
I think we are your closest promotion rivals. We have had by far the hardest opening set of fixtures and yet here we are with ten points from five games. We are only going to get stronger ,I would be looking over my shoulder if I were you.

After some of our performances this season you’re right we should be getting paid.
Good incentive tonight with cheap tickets and “retro night” but sadly given the fact we are dogshit to watch there’ll still only be 12k on max (probably only about 10k actually as quite a few ST holders have stopped going)
Probably 11,700 .
Poor game last night ,probably to be expected with both teams making so many changes.Thought Aasgaard looked class in the five minutes or so that he got despite the stick he got from the Bolton fans when he came on ,I thought he might have been one of the fringe players to be given a full game. Glad to get this game out of the way , now let’s get on with the important stuff , Portsmouth on Saturday.

Never understand why people hate their hometown team.
Only joking donny
I’ll be surprised if Bolton do bring 4000. They normally only bring that when the club puts free travel on.
They have sold their full allocation of 4,700 .
