Andyc,Bobbys been told 6 months ago by DW to adopt a more pragmatic style of football to keep us in the Premier League,i’ll quote Bobs reply!.
Football is a matter of opinions, but I’m very stubborn in my ways.I’m very clear in what I want to do and the way I want to play and I will never change !

Well that’s obviously put Whelan in his place then.

I will start to panic should it so happen that:-
        a) I’m driving down the motorway and suffer a four-tyre blow-out.
        b) I arrive home from work to find the fire brigade dampening down what’s left of my house.
        c) I wake up tomorrow to find I’m paralysed from the neck down.

But panic about the goings on at a football club???

I think a reality-check is in order, unless anyone watched Horizon tonight, that is!

Boselli hasn’t “gone”. He’s out on loan which means the club is still paying a proportion of his wages.
As TL said, the likelyhood is we’ll get a striker on loan until the end of the season.

chill out dave – wind your flaming neck in – you know i agree with alot of your sentiments and i never call you a nob despite the fact that you are probably the biggest one on here, you have more faces than days of the week and you change your stance with every passing post –

As far as back-handed compliments go that’s up there with the best.

And yes, chill out Dave FFS!

As a West Stander I would like to defend my right to remain silent during a game, if I so wish.
Like Dave I need to keep my voice in good shape too…!

Twenty more draws would see us right but would probably also lead to some kind of enquiry.

No need for an enquiry. 41 points will not be enough anyway.

There seems to be a few challenges going unanswered on this board at the moment. I am still waiting to be shown the bigger picture. I don’t think I can cope with being an undiagnosed “one eyed tunnelled vision fish eye” for the rest of my life.

My next door neighbour has been without water since 22nd December. Just been round now to say water is beginning to trickle through.
The unusual thing is my outside water tap attached to the hose has been working all through the cold snap. I forgot to drain and switch it off but its kept going the hard little fekker.

I’d get your house insulated if I were you. It must be costing you a fortune keeping that tap working!

I’m relieved to report that the water is now back on at work after three weeks struggling like a forgotten African village. It’s like Bob Geldof’s been to visit!

Going back to our attendances and fans dropping, I wonder why we got so many away fans in the Championship compared to now? e.g 4,000 to Leeds??

In a sentence, the getting there was far more interesting and pleasurable than being there.

                        Why??

3 points are 3 points, Do we get a bonus point for beating Wolves or summat

Purely on the basis that it’s better to take points off your immediate relegation rivals. Should it have been the other way round Wolves would now be above us in the table and we would be in a relegation place.

As I say to my students
look at the bigger picture – when you see it
it is really quite clear and obvious

if you cant see it – then you must clearly be a one eyed tunnelled vision fish eye

Not quite sure what a “one eyed tunnelled vision fish eye” is but go on then, explain it to me.

Okay, now the dust has settled, did anyone predict we would get more than four points from the Xmas games?

We won at Wolves were a draw was the most I expected, we got a point against Arsenal were none were expected and we lost to Newcastle were perhaps three were expected.

Four points out of the nine available, but gained in a different way than what was expected.

Another difficult match on Wednesday, but who knows a point might be gained.

I predicted exactly that too. In fact it’s turned out better because three points off Wolves was better than three points off Newcastle.

Nuneaton – you have hit the nail bang on the head

In what way has he “hit the nail bang on the head”?
Martinez wants Graeme Jones as his preferred no. 2. Whelan has had no influence in that decision.
Whelan backed the signing of Boselli against the advice of other established and respected football people within the club so how has Martinez been hung out to dry exactly?

I don’t think this is just a WAFC thing.
Premiership football this season has been a big disappointment generally, and many clubs are seeing a downturn in their attendances. However, it’s nigh impossible to persuade people to come to games when they can been viewed every week in local pubs and clubs and you are the lowest scorers in the league. And saving one of the the poorest perfomances of the season for Sky holiday weekend viewing doesn’t help either. When it comes to shooting itself in the foot Wigan Athletic does it better than most.

I don’t think the new owners of Blackburn know much about football. I think they have more or less said so.
It could very well be a publicity stunt but if I were a Blackburn fan I’d be a bit worried about the future of the club.
