my mate thought it was Boycey til we were chatting at 5.30pm on thursday!
Mind you, he also said that Thomas had a sh** game as well!
These night matches ain’t good for us old folk :shock:Should’ve gone to Specsavers!
It seems to me that Martinez has never had the respect of the players. That, coupled with his baffling game-plans and tactics (or lack of), is a sure-fire receipe for disaster and some of the inept performances witnessed this season.
It’s easy to single out certain players and make them scapegoats but I do not subscribe to the view that Scharner was disinterested last night. He may have spat out his dummy when subbed but his antics when going off at half-time did not strike me as that of someone who wasn’t all that bothered. Maybe he too is just as frustrated and baffled by Martinez as the rest of us.You may be glad to know i had a very large bowel movement on the way back from the game at Sandbach services.
I had to look, unpleasant as it is but it had been inside me almost as long as a woman carries a child. I named it Scharner.
I lingered over the flush handle for a few seconds pondering the significance of it and our premiership season. Would flushing it be representative of Bob’s team and tactics I wondered?
Now every time i think of the Hull or West Ham games i have to nip off to the loo. Im wasting away
That really is way too much information, mate
A fair analogy though.To Mr Dave Whelan,Dave
Tonight for the very first time, I came close to walking out before before the final whistle. Never would I imagine that the performance of our team would cause so much dismay. Everyone can understand why you stated at the beginning of the season that you would stick with Roberto whatever happens but even you must now admit this was a massive mistake!
Never before have I witnessed such a poor performance from a group of players who are obviously not playing for the manager. He has lost complete control and it shows. Is it any wonder that the crowds are drooping off like dead flies when thats we have to put up with. Sometimes you have to admit your mistakes and eat a bit of humble pie,Dave. I dont think that sacking Roberto now will have any effect on this season but please do the right thing as soon as the final whistle blows at Chelsea and get rid. He is obviously not up to the standards the premiership demands and must not be allowed to carry on and take this club down any faster than it already is. If the players had any remorse then they should offer the fans their money back after that performance tonight……… a total disgrace.
Dave, you are normally quick enough to spout off about the termoils of other clubs………….. spout off about your own and show the fans who pay their hard earned coin that you are prepared to do whatever it takes to get this wonderful club back on the road to success.
Without you this club would be nowhere………… nows the time to act to keep it from going there.regards
a loyal but frustrated supporter.
Well, from my vantage point, at the final whistle, I saw Dave disappear very quickly in a direction very different to the one he normally traverses. So maybe he shares your same views and decided to vent his spleen!
http://www.wiganlatics.co.uk/page/TicketNews/0,,10429~2003208,00.htmlThird paragraph.
Which bit of “.. you could have three tickets per game for the equivalent of just £4 each” is difficult to understand?”
But in the last paragraph they really try to cloud things:
“To clarify, you must buy two tickets for the same game for £12 and get a third ticket for that game FREE.”
Myabe, jsut myabe, soem poelpe aer a lettil dyslexic.
That game in particular caught the interest of the Wigan public, maybe because it was the first time for a while they’d got drawn against a first division league club. It was a very cold day and I rememer trying to get a local referee to call of our game on Laithwaite Park so I could go, which I managed (that wasn’t too difficult as those who remember playing there will testify)
was u the Seal ?
Not sure what you are asking me there, BB1965.Peter Houghton one of the best players ever to play for the tic’s imo.
Never gets the recognition he deserves on here :shock:I remember Larry Lloyd saying when he was manager that he could (and should) have played at a higher level.
He had bags of pace and an eye for goal but whether he could have hacked it in a higher division is debatable. He was certainly one of the best Latics players of that era. That game in particular caught the interest of the Wigan public, maybe because it was the first time for a while they’d got drawn against a first division league club. Come on Whelan! You promise us a warchest. Get it bl00dy open and let’s sign that Messi bloke.
He’d do brilliant for us coming on in the 88th minute as a back-up for Scotland
Rubbish Wigan.
I think he would need to start every game to bring the full potential out of – the very much undervalued at £10m – Hugo.
Nah. It’s merely the Premier League’s insurance policy should West Ham finish in the bottom three. I believe the idea was put forward by Trevor Brooking.
I think Loudmouth placed a sizeable bet at good odds that Martinez would get the sack before the season was out.
The point I’m making is that Caldwell’s challenge will still be deemed a red-card offence.
If the referee said he sent-off Caldwell for a two-footed tackle then that is obviously wrong. However, his (one) foot is off the ground and the studs are showing so it will be argued the tackle was dangerous and warranted a red card.
Have been allowed by the Premier League to sell players outside of the window.
Absoulute disgrace in my opinion changing the rules because one club has sepent more money than they have!Let’s hope they can sell some of their better players before they play us.
Then whoever took all the corners in the promotion season under Larry Lloyd must have been the most skilful player in the clubs history – the number of goals scored from near post flick-ons was phenominal.
We need to resurrect the Andy Liddell “throw/turn/half-volley” throw-in routine. We got a ponful from that.
We could do with him giving Hugo a few tips on how to take a penalty. Did he ever miss one? -
