Well to be fair we probably wont win it. My point was that we masterminded victories over lower league teams. Shame we couldnt have done it enough times in the premier league. Taking nothing away from us winning the cup.
Very lucky to get through against Bournemouth.
Struggled against Macclesfield. Could easily have gone to a replay.
Comprehensively beat Huddersfield.
Comprehensively beat Everton who finished 6th in the Premier League.
Comfortable win against Millwall. Passed them to death.
Worthy winners against Manchester City who finished 2nd in the Premier League. Not all against lower league teams and when the strongest squad was on show the results were hardly in doubt. I also maintain that should we have lost to Everton we would still be a Premier League club.
One good thing about Wikipedia is that there is some nerd somewhere who always wants to be first to post an update, so within minutes of final whistle we have an update…….Probably those same people who post on here! :(
McClean reminds me of Peter Houghton, without the end product.
Or is it too early to say?Down to ££££s and £££s alone as the main motivationsl factor. I can not prove this so my un-educated guess is just a presumption.Absolutely correct. Just a presumption.
And I presume otherwise.
Nothing like a football fan scorned eh?
I also think it’s pathetic that some of our fans – and it has to be said predominately those who didn’t want him here anyway – are now waiting for him to fail.
We can only speculate as to what he requested but we do know Whelan turned him down.Do we…..????
It’s a football forum and as far as I am aware it is not exclusively all things Wigan Athletic. I think it is understandable that Martinez is generating so much interest considering how much he divided opinion on here. It is intriguing to see how he progresses at a club with greater resources, better facilities and, dare I say, a more demanding fan base than the club he left.
Should Martinez steer Everton to a League Cup final and possibly win it this game will be long forgotten, in much the same way our performances against Bournemouth and Macclesfield were forgotten when we got to Wembley.
Tel Aviv anyone?
More likely a case of Tel Aviv no one….!
I wonder if it was ever suggested that the two trophies won at Wembley by the town’s football and rugby clubs back in 1985 should be paraded at each ground?
I think we both know the answer to that :cheer:[/quote]
And I think we both know which of the two would have been most against it.

This is coming from a chap who charges 15-20 quid for throwing a bit of water at some panes of glass.Very reasonable rates, Mr Abramovich. After all he’s here all day!
Allan Brown, well he managed to beat Doncaster at home!Grant Holt is no Harry Lyon…!
The police have not indicated where the ‘information received’ they acted on came from, why would they, but it seems a very big coincidence that a coach is targeted when some on here chose to say “police turn a blind eye to alcohol on coaches” and others tell stories of blatant abuse of the law, then openly discuss that coaches are available that allow alcohol on board, how do you expect the police to react, and that coincidence is where the particular coach operator agrees with my post.I agree with you LMB, it was a very big coincidence. Why should the police target your mate’s coach unless the “information received” was far more substantial than whatever nonsense was posted on here? Or perhaps it was no more than a random stop and search.
Pure speculation with not a shred of evidence to support your claim.
….. so as not to allow a load of bizarre and inappropriate analogies to be posted to bring further attention.I thought my analogy was both useful and necessary given the difficulty some people had grasping what was appropriate on a public forum.
