I think we had green trims for 9 years I seem to remember the puma kit we kept for 3 seasons, the 2 Adidas strips lasting 3 seasons then 2 Patrick strips also for 3 seasons all with green trims. I quite liked the green it gave us unique colours, or did Tramere wear the same colours for a while, cant remember.

I haven’t updated my site for years now, but this covers it

The worry for me is if we don’t get Prem football in two years (and it’s hghly unlikely we will) what will be the position of the Hong Kong group then ? Continue to chase and invest further or will they pull up the drawbridge and cut their losses ?

The alternative is that we don’t have a chance of anything. The Whelan family have invested enough over the years for us to be supremely grateful and can’t be expected to carry on. So we will struggle to survive and may well disappear into obscurity anyway. But this way we get a couple of years of hoping and who knows? It may just work.
If it doesn’t then I genuinely think we won’t be any worse off.
And another thing.
It’s great isn’t it? There are loads of people (I don’t mean regular contributors here, but the “guys in the pub” etc) who don’t put a penny into the club by actually going to games who all have great opinions about how much other people (Whelans, HK investors or whoever) ought to put their money in and question how reliable they are.

Apparentely the owners want premier league football within 2 years.

So do we.
Sounds like a perfect match.

One comment: “At least with Venkys there was a ready made Premier League club with decent crowds on offer,… ”

Ready made Premier League club? Shall you tell him, or shall I about our comparative recent histories?

What a bellend.

What’s in it for them?

They have acquired an English football team at presumably a reasonable price that with reasonable investment could get back into the PL and all the riches that that brings, and the exposure to their brand name brings.

It’s surely not too difficult to figure, is it?

Our promotion of course strengthens the possibility of him staying as that will be experience for him at Championship level. Had we stayed down then I think Brighton would have wanted him to have more of a challenge.

Now for me bill kenyon was the worst sold players and bought a huge house in haydock or was it garswood with the money

Now I may have this wrong, but I understood that Bill Kenyon had the house at the corner of Ashton Cross, opposite Ashton Golf Course.
It is now a facility owned by TRU and who run rehabilitation programmes for people suffering from acquired brain injuries (eg after an accident). There are a number of these facilities around and Ashton Cross is the last step in the programme, after the rehabilitation treatment then patients move there as a final step before going back into normal life.

Bill Kenyon was a director, and two Kenyons are currently directors, so it looks as though he has used his “huge house” as you call it for good purpose.

Can be done abroad because they have unified transport systems run by the local councils who buy into the idea of joined up thinking for members of the town/city and who take pride in the local sports clubs.

Here we just have profit making private companies who couldn’t co-operate if their lives depended on it.

Just to reiterate, I was asking if you could drink on the way home! My North End mates tell me they can’t drink going to a game but they can on the way back! If not then so be it, it’s not the end of the World!
Another query- Are there toilets on these coaches ?

Drink banned completely.
And there are toilets.

“The act creates a number of offences in connection with alcohol being transported to and from football matches. Anyone who has alcohol in their possession whilst travelling on a coach or train that is principally being used to take people to or from a match is guilty of an offence. There are provisions relating to the operators and also those who hire vehicles. It is also an offence to be drunk on such a vehicle whether or not the person is in possession of alcohol.

These provisions also apply to minibuses in certain circumstances.”

One point is that both Eavesway and the Supporters Club could also be prosecuted if you have drink on a coach, to or from a match.

Can’t show 3pm Saturday games in UK. So early or late kick-off’s.

Correct

He has his head screwed on.
Even silly money would only be for a very short time, and he would have failure on his CV.

To be fair to them, it was your mistake, and you are now expecting them to take a mixed bag of tickets back. How are they going to advertise them for sale, and deal with the payments etc?
The simplest way to sort out your error is what you have done – you advertise them on a Latics group or board. Should shift them no problem.
Don’t go blaming the club.

Supporters Club have just put on a seventh coach to cater for those unable to find a way there.

Can we bring booze to leave on the coach for the return journey or is it completely booze free transport?
Somebody should of booked on the train.
With hindsight we have made the right choice going on the coach, the train will be a nightmare and take ages! Not that bothered about boozing on way back but if it’s allowed then a few celebratory drinks would be nice! We’ll be back on it when we get back anyway!
In the absence of Jay replying I can say definitely that booze is completely forbidden.
But as you say you can have a celebration when you get back. It’s Saturday night so everywhere will be open.
