Whilst I sometimes think it’s down to desperation in knowing you probably can’t win on an even playing field (if we attempted it at Old Trafford for example), in a knockout all or nothing game I’d say go for it as you have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

Rodgers in the best thing since sliced bread it seems according to some Liverpool fans.
He has a cracking eye in the transfer marker because he managed to bring in a player on loan that played well, and is a man of many talents because they came up and stayed up comfortably. Which of course several managers have done with teams in the past.

I guess the past of other teams means you should just dismiss Rodgers out of hand? I guess Rodgers getting them promoted, then comfortably keeping them up isn’t an achievement because ‘some others do it’, even though it is still a very difficult thing to do. I know little of what they have done at either of their respective clubs, but to try and dismiss a man’s achievements and instead move them on to a manager who hasn’t been there for three years.
