Well Joffy has signed a new deal this morning.

I agree cupwinners on the 3-5 years project and i’ve said for a while it’s what we have to do

Whilst I am delighted we have got him to sign a new contract, the picture of him with Darren Royle and Jonathan Jackson has made me think.
In the picture, Royle is wearing a Poppy pin badge. Now, if Darren Royle is the astute businessman he seems to be, would he wear that badge after the 11th November, which was last Monday? Did he actually sign it last week? Seems strange to do that and wait until this spare International break weekend to announce it.

And where is Cook? Is something happening, are they going to announce Cook has gone, and are using Joffy signing the new deal to appease anybody who may be disgruntled?

Perhaps I am just being a conspiracy theorist here. Or maybe something is going on behind the scenes?
Maybe Cook and a few are getting a well earned break in Marbella and getting a bit of sun on their backs.l
Well they’ve not taken Lee Evans cos I just saw him in Asda at the Shitbok

Wasn’t it just an advisory vote and not a ‘final’ vote such as a general election?

I expect another hung parliament with the tories having a brief majority. Nothing will get done and we’ll be having the same talks in 12 months.

If labour want to oust the tories they need to get rid of Corbyn. Although plenty of what gets said about him in the press isn’t true but when they are all tory owned they can say what they want.

Don’t we have the best record in the division from set pieces? It’s the only time we score.

Selling academy products for massive fees we can invest elsewhere sounds like good business to me. Bit like signing Valencia and Palacios for frig all and selling them for millions.

All well and good talking about huge investment but when your income is about £4.50 it kind of breaches FFP rules.

                    Are there any rules anymore?
Wolves broke all sorts of fp rules on gaining promotion.
Bolton Wanderers broke many rules and still havnt been punished and were actively supported and had their hands held by the EFL while they walked them through their so called crisis.
Yes. Sheff Wednesday were charged earlier this week.

Wolves (and QPR when they beat us in the playoffs) were not because the PL and FL are two seperate entities. Basically you can cheat provided you get promoted.

At this level it is nothing as you say but do we have it lying around plus the money it would take to sack Cook? We lost £7m two years ago and had to sell Will Grigg to try and cover it. I imagine we have lost money this year too.

It’s the cost of the respective squads. Bar the odd one or two it isn’t usually too far adrift from the actual league table.

PNE have built a good little squad after a few years in this league and is exactly what we should be aiming to do.

As for Pardew, he hates us doesn’t he?

That’s my point Brownbill. Everyone saying Cook is out of his depth, taken us as far as he can etc is unable to name a single viable option. Not even a crap option like Nathan Jones. Nobody. Apart from pie in the sky names like Warnock, Hughes, Hughton.

The last two times we have sacked a manager at this level we have appointed a sexist racist (cheap) who had a decent record before us and a youth team coach. In the same way we have to take gambles with players we have to take them with managers as well and I don’t see anyone out there currently. It’s not as though we’re an Aston Villa who went and got Dean Smith to take them up. We would either go to a League One manager or an assistant with no experience.

As for players we brought in, personally I think Lowe is crap, Moore needs someone playing off him, Williams and MacLeod are good players and Mulgrew should be our nailed on captain. Are any of the players we signed better than Powell or James in their respective positions who were our best players? Are they fuck.

Who would you replace him with and where do you expect us to be?

Personally, as much as I like him I can see why he would get the sack but with the squad and resources we have I still don’t see how we will do much better. 1 or 2 away wins maybe but anything outside the bottom 6 clubs would be overachieving I think.

You mean his comments that you pretty much backed up by talking about our time in the Prem? That comment is exactly what he is talking about. 8 years in the Prem and a cup win and everyone thinks we’re Barcelona.
