Cook would have been potted long ago so i cannot understand the constant ‘Cook out’ posts after away defeats.
So far he has achieved a brilliant stylish promotion from a very tough league 1 and also maintained the clubs status in the championship and his home form is amongst the best in the division.
No ex Latics player has ever been potted as manager bar Barrow (unfairly in my opinion) in 1995 and our most successful managers since the entry to the football league in 1978 have been ex Latics players havent they?
More positive times to come in my opinionConsidering they almost nicked it at the death i would say that was a good point especially after going behind against a very good team.
More positives if you ask me and a growing belief within the team that was lacking last year.Moore’s hold and link up play was superb today and he was the catalyst for most of the attacks.
His touch is very good and he brings others into play with his clever link up work and I can see why he is an ever present.
On the positive it’s 4 points from 3 games I expected zilch from and it could have been much better but as I said before we sort of expect late equalisers and late winners away. The sitter would have killed it but we should expect it now .
Good performance but we really should have won it and yet more points thrown away!Surely the powers that be should sit him down and demand answers about this dreadful away run.
It is much more than a blip and bad luck and changes are needed to sort it out.
Players are slacking and drifting away from
The pressure of the DW and the very demanding Latics supporters. They need to have a look at themselves !!!
Sacking him isn’t the answer given that we have been relegated in the seasons we did just that.Watched it back this morning and so annoyed that they basically gave the Derby bloke a free pop at goal like kids playing ‘three and in ‘ !!Three of our players basically stood right beside him and waved him through while he hit his ‘free ‘ shot at goal to give Derby the points!!!
Poor basic defending again and that little snippet of play tells us so much about our lack of desire away from home and the inability to see games out when not faced with the pressure of the home supporters. No coincidence in my view just a lack of desire across the park and an acceptance of our fate.
No quality up whatsoever up top and players of genuine forward quality are left on the bench while the selected forwards lumber about the place missing sitters.
Beyond the joke and very very annoying but easily solved with correct team selection and tactics.
Was so positive after sunday but back to normal we go :(Shocking as Derby were fooking awful there but lacked quality up front again.
Even stronger feeling of a much needed away win tonight that’s I had this morning !
Maybe it’s our noisy home support that lifts them to greater heights as every player today was trying to get a foot in and battled.
Derby must be there for the taking on Wednesday night but the reality will
Be depressingly familiar no doubt. The famous Port vale game at home ,good Friday 1979.
5-3 home win and arguably the greatest comeback
In the clubs history.
Id bet that most on this site are diehards and I reckon all the JCLs ( Premier league supporters are the JCLs in my opinion ) long ago resigned their 2005-6 home shirts into the garages to wash the car.
Good supporters view football as a habit they cannot kick due to sheer love for their respective clubs and all the brilliant social aspects that go with it.
My other first was taking my then 4 year old son to his first game at the back end of the 93-94 season against Darlington in a relegation battle. He at was being schooled in all things Rugby by some of my relatives at the timebut never looked back after his first visit to our lovely old springy.
What a story since and some fantastic trips abroad , a great story.
Been great to reacquaint myself on here with all the old names after my social media resignation .
A great site to be onI doubt he will get sacked , he just needs to improve and use the experience he has to hand.
Reid and Royle were both top players and managers in their time, surely he is taking advice from them
Sacking him isn’t the answer and given that all the players ran towards him to celebrate the goal is testimony itself.
3 straight clean sheets at home is pretty impressive , just need to change things away from home.3 home clean sheets in a row actually
Not bad but up front is more of a problem at the moment .
A point on Saturday would be an achievement but is anybody expecting anything when we have only won 2 away since August 2018 ????3 home clean sheets in a row actually
Not bad but up front is more of a problem at the moment .
A point on Saturday would be an achievement but is anybody expecting anything when we have only won 2 away since August 2018 ????A poor game but some encouraging performances from one or two ,Lowe and Bryne were better last night.
Marshall has really settled in now also
Pattern of last season very evident , home wins , away defeats and a negative pattern throughout.
On track for 50-55 points if the pattern stays the same.
Shouldnt we expect more though ?
That said a win is a win regardless of how fortuitous the goal was.Chris wilder is a managerial genius getting a tune in the premier league from Leon Clarke and other league one standard players!!!!
