I’m really looking forward to tomorrows game.
I just hope they take Utd apart like they did Arsenal.
Dingles ??????
When did Burnley move to Yorkshire then?
Am I missing something?Espinoza is brilliant at the running around and tackling bit, but at times his passing is shocking.
It was exactly the same yesterday. He had a decent game but was behind McArthur, Gomez, and Perch for me.
It’s the energy “running around” and closing down that makes the difference – the final piece of the jigsaw. When you consider all the loanees who’ve played and contributed very little, Rog was a breath of fresh air yesterday and the performance of the whole siide was lifted.
Leave the fancy passing to Mr Gomez who was also excellent yesterday as was young James.
Best league performance of the season for me. :)
Hoping I don’t get accused of being a pedantic tw@t, it was Derek Brownbill who came on for Noel Ward. Hence the cry from the West Standers “Get Brownbill on” when we are losing at home!…and I seem to recall one newspaper recording a goal for a Brown, W, instead of Brownbill. But as it was in the paper it must be true e.g. no money, no fans, no future, etc.
Thanx for the correction !! :)
An excellent performance all round today. The defense were rarely tested, but strong when necessary, the midfield completely ran the show and we looked like scoring every time we went forward.
Probably one of, if not, the best performance of the season.Agreed. A brilliant performance.
Roger just about shaded MOTM for me. He deserved it for the effort he put in.
Well today was bloody marvelous as well.
That was a comprehensive battering wasn’t it?
Well played Roger.
That side sholud play the rest of the season.
Brilliant
I was 22 at the time and was working at the Co Op Glass Works at Platt Bridge.
I’ll never forget the Port Vale game. 3-0 down with 20 minutes to go. Ian MacNeils masterstroke in taking off a centre half Noel Ward and bringing on on Mickey Moore – I think.
Any road things changed dramatically after that and we took them apart and Pey Pod got a hat trick. “Good Friday??? It was Bloody Marvelous”.*
As for the prats who chucked their season tickets into the tunnel and left at half time ……………. some things never change do they?
Saturdays game was an anti climax after that.I went to Crewe in the back of a bread van as my mates Dad who took us worked for Harveys in Cale Lane. Not sure if Bruce G was in goal but ex Man U player Peter Coyne scored Crewe’s goal ,also a penalty.
Easter Monday I was posh and sat in the main stand. I still remember Purdie’s equalizer to make it 2-2, he ran on to a right wing cross and scored with a volley over the keepers head from just inside the box.
We ended up 6th that first season.
Great memories and great days.
Hope today is memorable as well.
Enjoy !! :)

Well we’ve been ignored yet again by SKY.
Tomorrow they are showing Burnley – Blackpool
Saturday Leicester – QPR
Monday Leeds (for the 50th time this season) – Forest.I’d argue our games against Reading and Burnley have more at stake given Leicester and Burnley are already promoted and Leeds and Forest have no chance anyway.
Really pisses me off – we’ve been on Sky twice this season.
Why? If you go to the game, why are you even arsed if it’s on the tele or not?[/quote]
Yes I’ll be there tomorrow but I won’t be at Turf Moor.
My point is that they still favour the perceived big clubs Leeds being a prime example even though they’ve been shite for years they’ve been on Sky loads of times.
We’ve been ignored and it’s not fair is it?
That’s why I’m arsed!! :)

Or perhaps it’s just come to visit a pen pal.Any more bad swan jokes and I’ll get a cob on !!!
After about 10 minutes yesterday practically the whole of the Latics following stood up in unison and belted out“we know what we are, we know what we aaaarrrrre, FA cup champions, we know what we are”
Did you both join in ?
I didn’t either !!!! :P
River Derwent??
Just got back myself. We stayed in Woking and had a great journey back on the train after the game thanx to a bunch of Portsmouth fans. One gave me a beer and 2 tried to chat up my daughter. :cheer:
Nicer bunch than the smug gits who support Arsenal – no class at all. Bunch of tossers.
As for the game.Crainey was brilliant. Gomez so cool under pressure and a great penalty.
We didn’t lose the match in my eyes,we lost the lottery that came after it.
I presume Caldwell volunteered to take pen 1 so at least he showed some bottle !!!
My only gripe was Powell for Callum.Should have sent Maloney on as he’s also capable of holding the ball and beating a man.Plus he’s a penalty taker. Powell was awful and contributed little.
Friday is more important anyway.
Onwards and upwards !!!!! B)
Ali
Perch Boyce Ramis Barnett Crainey
Callum McCarthur Gomez Maloney
Fortune/Powell
Leaving in 5 minutes.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Fingers crossed.
BELIEVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
McLean’s currently on crutches apparently.
