Perkins WAS player of the season last season and I was a mega fan.

However he’s 34 and lets face it …..small.At times he looked like a 12 year old against Blackburn. I don’t really expect him to be first choice when everyones bedded in. McDonald bought as a possible replacement pehaps.

We have so many midfield players now I find it hard to speculate what the team will be.Its another striker we actually need.

However I think he’ll have to stick with a back 3 for now as Burn will be just like GC himself was in a back 4 – a disaster waiting to happen.

Wildshutt is a typical winger – Frustrating. Yes he has pace but thats it.No end product 80% of the time. I can never understand how the sponsers usually make him MOTM.

The East Stand get it right NA NA NA NA NA etc That all he does kick it forward and runs down the wing ………………….. Birmingham had him sussed. They doubled up.He was totally ineffective. Expect that from most teams.

If he was really good he’d have been playing at Sunderland today not at Forest yesterday.

Having seen him 3 times Burn looks like he’s going to be a real liability I’m afraid. He’s appears to be too slow and seems to lack the necessary mobility on the floor for this level. Not impressed. :(

Unfortunately we enjoy other stuff apart from Footie. It’s my Mrs Birthday on Saturday and we will be at Green Fest in Orrell – music is just as important as Football in our lives.

i was in Bristol this afternoon actually. Its a place I love being a student there from 75-78.Before the fixtures were announced it was one away game we had earmarked. The date put the mockers on that I’m afraid. :(

Pleased GC kept the same side basicly. Today allthough we lost hopefully we can learn where we went wrong, correct that in training then keep the same side again and bounce back against Crewe.

    I listened on WISH FM.

Seemed the same old story. Lots of possession but too slow going forward.Jacobs had a quiet game and we seemed to suffer for it. On the other hand they seemed to counter with pace when they had the chance and were content to let us have the ball 30 yards from goal and pass it around and around and around …………………..

I was really confident after Wednesday as well.

Ah well Same old same old !!!!!! :(

If it wasn’t for O’Donnells 3 first half saves we would have lost …..just sayin’.

It will take a few more games but I’m quite optimistic we will be much better in a few weeks.

Two games, two defeats, one goal scored (a penalty), out of cup! Even Martinez would struggle to find a positive. Long hard season ahead!

    A positive?

Jacobs No 17. First time I’ve seen him and I thought he looked really good.

15 looks skillful as well. I thought we didn’t play too badly but they need to get some confidence and have a shot rather than pass in the box.

Judgement to be reserved until I’ve seen a couple more games.

    1-0 down nothing changes

Listening to WISH FM you are right.

It sounded like they played like a Bobby Team. Good on the ball, lots of possesion but 35 yards from goal and created f**k all chances. :(

The pre season filled me with dread. I hope we can get better starting Tuesday !!!! B)

I was at game and though football was good we lacked creativity, cutting edge and didn’t have a shot on target did we? Forwards on show looked poor. 3-0 was undoubtedly harsh but unfortunately you don’t win games on posession percentages!

Nothings changed then on the face of it ???? :(

Fingers crossed for a marked improvement next Saturday then !! B)

    2. Finally beating The Mancs and Maloneys goal.

    3. The 5-3 win against Port Vale on Good Friday 1979. We were 3-0 down with 20 mins to go.

    4. Beating Liverpool at Anfield. I watched the game in a pub in the Yorkshire Dales ………..on CeeFax !!!!

    5. The first half destruction of Newcastle. Total football . We were magnificent 4-0 up at halftime.
