This article is from 2012, but I guess there aren’t many additions to this list.

Egg came up with a name of two players (cant remember their names) – one who’d played once in a league cup tie and once in an end-of season game about 8 years ago, but this one is the first Wiganer to have scored for his home town club for many many years.
Pleasing to see a local lad playing for his local club. I hope he has many more days like yesterday.
I remember Andy Morris scoring in a cup game about 13 years ago. Small, quick left winger but with not much end product. However i think it was an auto windscreens shields match. If i remember rightly he scored in extra time to win it. Might have been Blackpool
Oldham I believe.
I agree we don’t deserve to stay up and they both do so I have accepted our relegation which given our atrocious home firm will happen on Saturday regardless.Your typo works well ;)
Precedent has been set, so if something similar happens in the men’s game I think they will have to follow this lead.
However, this was an huge error by the official or complete lack of knowledge of the rules.
I do wonder what would have happened if this penalty was in the 1st minute.
Speaking of Boselli, he’s on fire playing in the Mexican league. :woohoo:36 goals in 64 games for Leon!!!.
OK the quality of football may not be that good, but you can certainly say that the quality of football in the Championship is totally shat compared to the EPL. :ohmy:The quality of football is good, but the style is completely different.
Also living in Mexico is more similar to Argentina. People do sometimes forgot that if a player is settled off the pitch their performance on it generally improves. So who thinks that GC will pick his fellow Scotsman/Scot Billy Boy on Friday? Yeah, I know Malky was Scottish but he was clearly a fuckwit! :)
Nearly as bigger fuckwit as you, Billy Mckay is Irish!!
He less Irish than I am Zambian! He was born and raised in Leicestershire and only qualifies for Northern Ireland because he father’s parents were born in Belfast.
Does that mean your parents or grandparents were born in Zambia?
A lot of Cowie’s appearances have been as sub recently.
If you consider minutes played then Cowie is behind Perch, Carson, Taylor, McClean and is almost level with Fortune.
He was almost an everpresent under Rolser, but most appearances have been as sub under Mackay. Here’s a question for you….
Taking into account all games where a player has played 45 mins+ who has the best and worst points per game ratio for Latics this season?what sort of points?
OK, I’ll put it this way.
The Best
With Riera in the team we averaged 1.5 league points per game
He is followed my some of the new recruits, such as Pearce, Maguire, Bong & Pennant due to our recent improvement in results.Of the players who played consistenly under Rosler and Mackay, Fortune comes out best.
With him in the team we’ve averaged 1.04 pts per game. Without him in the team we’ve only averaged 0.69 pts per game. The Worst
Maloney and McCann. When they played 45 mins or more we only averaged 0.42 per game.A lot of Cowie’s appearances have been as sub recently.

Taking into account all games where a player has played 45 mins+ who has the best and worst points per game ratio for Latics this season? With an operating loss of £19.8M on a turnover of £101M, there will need to be a few more like Henderson too.
Sorry to bring it up, but during your 8 years, not a single youth team player made it through to the first team.
Aside from the man of the match in the cup final
Is that the one that came through Everton’s youth acadamy first?
You are right, but that was the model that Latics had to go with.
Baines and McManaman both came from Everton at a young age, but generated more than 10M in profit.Compare it with Jack Collback. I believe he was with Sunderland since age 10, but decided to go to Newcastle on a bosman. Was it worth the youth investment?
Only ever 5 winners of it since it started in 1992 ,23 years ago!
Chelsea,Man utd,Man City ,Blackburn and ArsenalIn the 23 years prior to 1992 we had 7 different champions Leeds,Arsenal,Liverpool,Everton,Aston Villa,Nottingham Forest, Derby County .
Not many more I grant you but check out some of the unfashionable names like Forest and Derby and also remember Forest won it straight after a promotion in 1977-78 season.
it is overrated for sure but interesting especially when a struggling club like Burnley turns over a team like City and it would be nice to see little clubs like Bournemouth and Brentford get up there next season although the TV bosses would hardly relish paying 10 million a game to screen those two would they?I postd about this earlier.
Premier League is exactly the same as all major leagues in terms of the low number of winners:
England 5
Germany 6
Spain 5
Netherlands 5
Italy 5
Portugal 4
Scotland 2
Is the Premier League overrated?
Since its inception? No
Currently? It depends who you areAn armchair fan who pays his subscription continues to do so, because they believe they are getting value for money. Games have incident, excitement, controversy and at the beginning of the season there are several team who could win the League.
A fan of a promoted club gets caught up in the excitement but after surviving for a few seasons apathy sets in. The exciting moments become few and far between.
Results in the Champions League haven’t been great recently, but this goes in cycles.
For what it is worth, I think that the Premier League is still the best overall.
Bundesliga wishes they have the global marketing power of the Premier League and is trying to catch up.
However, while the stadium experience is better, Bayern are consistently winning the league with weeks to spare and are buying all the best players from their nearest rivals.Whilst I admire the positivity the reality is that we are shite at home and have 3 from 7 to play at home 2 of which are promotion candidates! Out of the 7 remaining games 4 are promotion hopefuls! We never get anything at Fulham ( just 2 wins in 20 ! )and so that leaves Millwall as my only win prediction! Draws against Boro,Fulham,Brighton and Brentford see us gaining 7 more points, that is my prediction but is it enough? I fear not! That’s the point. We have to make up at least 5 points on those above us before we can start to think about staying up.
Currently, Fulham is a must win game for us and a must not lose game for them. However, we can’t afford to lose the 2 games prior to that.We should know from experience not to predict the end result, but just be ready for the ride.
Huddersfield are dropping faster.
They have 2 points from their last 6 games, while Fulham have 7 (we have 10 and Rotherham have 6)
Reading’s form is also bad and they have the FA Cup semi-final to focus on.While Patrick Bamford is “gutted” to withdraw from England U-21 games, but is confident to be fit to face Latics.
Great that we have players getting international recognition, but considering our plight I would prefer to see a few niggles that take a couple of weeks to recover.
Winston White in 1993. I think it was against Hull.
