How can a man who has had 43 of the 52 companies he has owned liquidated be allowed to take over a community asset by the EFL for a pound?
Staggering.
Be a decent Derby against Daisy Hill.
Jamie Jones has to start next game. That was poor from free kick. For what it’s worth Kipres challenge looked OK to me.
Not sure it’s simply defending. Keeper didn’t have a save to make and that’s 3 out of 3 games we haven’t scored. Moore out now with Lang only fit striker.
Getting a bit daft this now VAT. You must be one angry fucker at home if you can fall out on a Latics forum. FFS. It’s a big world out there!
We would have smashed Leeds Saturday if ref was from Cornwall no danger. Biased bastards!
Queens of over reaction. If before season most on here were offered 3 points they would have said an OK start given we have played 2 of the 3 promotion favourites. After Cardiff blokes were putting money on play offs I recall, Vat was saying its the best transfer window in years, Jamal Lowe was our saviour and Charlie Mulchay a steal. Now after one awful performance at Preston and a game against the best team in league with 10 men we are going down and Cook should be sacked. How long have some of you supported us? Guess what. I don’t wanna spoil the inevitable but we probably wont finish in the top half this season I would guess. We wont be anywhere near the play offs and at times will flirt with relegation. If you expected differently I’m unsure why!
It’s come at speed into the box at his centre halves feet who has Bamford right up his arse and both have walked it into the net. How the fuck could Marshall have stopped from a standing start two blokes of 13-14 stone travelling at that velocity when he couldn’t even see the ball. As I said it’s like trying to stop a scrum. His own centre half is in front of him not Bamford. To be fair we wouldn’t have scored if we were still playing tonight with 10 men so the goals largely irrelevant but think we are looking at scapegoats blaming Marshall yeaterday.
The men at fault for that goal are surely the man marking Bamford and the man on the front post. Not sure what Marshall can do with the ball being run at him like a scrum down when he has no momentum. Made a fantastic save for first goal only for no defenders to be marking man on rebound. Blaming Marshall is ridiculous.
Can you see how? The lad Gelhardt is obviously worth a shot but once new lads come in he will simply be a token to fill our homegrown quota. Couldn’t do much more in pre season yet can’t see how he will play much.
A winger and a striker who have scored almost 40 goals between them in the league just under ours are hardly not worth a punt. We wouldn’t be able to afford proven championship scorers given our budget and from what I’ve seen both look pretty decent with the right service. Could you perhaps mention some of the proven championship strikers we could have signed for 3 million? He’s a list from last season of top scorers who scored more than our new centre half Charlie Mulgrew. Take your pick but I’m pretty sure we couldn’t have afforded them.
Tammy Abraham (played for Chelsea today)
Billy Sharp (scored in prem yesterday)
Oli Mcburnie (sold for 20 million)
Dwight Gayle (West brom bid of 15 million turned down).
Jay Rodriguez (sold for 10 million)
Che Adams (sold for 15 million)
Lewis Grabban (cost 6 million)
Kemar Roofe (sold for 7 million)
Brit Assambolonga (cost 15 million)A superb performance last week followed by a joke of one yesterday. 8 new signings to integrate into squad mean we may have to be patient. Next week be tough too. Onwards and upwards.
We are dreadful in defence. Letting balls bounce when they need to be met, poor marking and keeper seems to lack presence and flap at every ball. We play with little width and midfielders are like statues and technically poor. To play quick you need to stand on half turn not facing your own goal for gods sake. Takes 4 touches to move play forward. Williams looked an improvement on what we had and Lowe showed some decent touches. Be interesting to see how long it takes for this week’s signings to get a chance!
Decent signing if true. He can hit a ball!
A big screen, the soccer dome full of kids and 2 17 year olds who have played an hour or two of men’s football won’t be enough to keep us up unless we strengthen. As talented as some of these lads are its not fair to put loads of expectation on them.
IEC have certainly put their money where their mouth is!
